You'll learn more from the internet than books. Cheaper too.
I made a thread awhile ago for a story I wrote, and got a handy amount of criticism on the first few chapters of it.
Though since then I've written much more, and haven't gotten a single reply on it for about 6 months now (I still bump the thread once I make some progress on it...:v:).
Should I just move on? I've tried practically every source I can think of but I don't think I'll be able to find anyone interested in it, and the only people who I can get to read it are yes-men.
Oh god this guy on youtube is arguing with me.
He actually thinks consoles are more powerful than the highest spec of gaming PC.
I've posted a link to the PS3 specs then to a gaming pc which clearly shows that the PC is better but he still blurting out shit and calling me a fag. He's telling me he's bought new hardware for the PS3 which makes it faster than any PC. I tell him that consoles are just dumbed down PC therefore will only be as good as the current power of PCs. He's 23 and acts like a child just because he's on the internetz

i feel like it's missing something though
i guess he didnt work closely enough with olly
if u havent worked it out already olly is one of my designer idols. thats why most of my work looks like his
although i'd like to think its different enough that im not copying him? just heavily inspired
either way im a beginner and i guess my own style will develop from it

Yeah I think the Resitance poster there doesn't have the same good form for compositon. In the Source Code poster there is elements everywhere that needs to be covered in order to fill up the poster properly without ruining the minimalistic style. The resistance poster seems off balance and too centered, especially with such a direct camera angle and everything. It's all put in the middle and doesn't really lead your eyes. It also lacks any information of any kind making it really empty.
Biggest problem with Resistance is how the title blends a bit in with the illustration. So if you focus on the man you miss parts of the illustration and if you focus on the text you see the top of the illustration. You never really get the chance to relax and just watch one of the elements because they are both disturbing eachother.
In the Source Code poster you can watch the man and the whole illustration without reading the title, and whilst reading the title you only focus on the title.

I have a JPEG photograph that I want to have CMYK colours with only the black/yellow channels activated, but as soon as I save it turns them all on.

Only way I found is that you remove all the channels except for yellow and black.
This makes it impossible to save it in normal image formats so you'll have to screen print the result instead and crop it in a new document.
Hopefully there is a better method out there. Fiddling a bit more to see if I can find another way.
Pretty odd that you can't just leave the two channels visible and save it like that though.

It's weird, but I'm designing three articles for our schools magazine and they have this weird two channel system. It's always one colour a year, this year it's yellow :v:

You can also CTRL click the channel and duplicate the layer so it only extracts the information in the yellow (and black) channel. You have to put a black layer underneath (preferably with +1 light so it isn't pitch black) it so you only have the channels visible of course.
Doesn't give you yellow colour though.
