I recently connected my other monitor to my lapotop and I don't know what to do for a dual screen setup for photoshop. Ideas?
Sounds un-efficient. If I ever use two screens for photoshop it's simply putting reference images on the left monitor and have Photoshop itself on the right monitor.
I use one screen for photoshoop. If I need a reference Image I put it inPS and take the tab it's in and put it on my second screen. Tablet is stuck only on one screen
God DA sucks so much. I often critique those shitty "photomanipulation" pieces where people just hack a few stock photos together, slap brushes all over the piece, paint on some bad shadows and dick about with the contrast and saturation sliders. Those pieces get so much traffic on DA it makes me sad. They take about 10 minutes and no real skill to make and receive hundreds of favourites and comments. When I go and critique them and say "oh that bit doesn't fit in with the background very well" or "the shading work here is pretty sloppy" they reply in that really overly friendly DA way like "I didn't request critiques on this piece :v:" .... yeah well I don't care what you requested you thick fuck - you invited criticism by uploading your picture to a public art site that allows comments from any user.
A lot of 'daily deviations' piss me off too.
So where do you guys get your inspiration from? I don't get much inspiration from going outside. I like creating things. Or being challenged. Any websites that have contests or challenges to see who can make a better -insert art here- ?
I had a really strange dream last night but it has given me some artistic inspiration. Basically, the US and UK were at war again. Both sides were dressed in 16th century-style uniforms, so the UK in redcoats and the US in blue. Only the uniforms weren't very... uniform. They were matching colours (sort of) but all made from scratch by the people using them. This is where I realised that my dream was actually set in a future post-apocalypse and for some reason these self-made armies had resorted back to 16th century-style tactics, moving in lines and squares, but also mixed with modern guerilla tactics. The only thing my subconscious didn't seem to work out was what the weapons would be like. I was thinking home-made matchlocks mixed in with a few shitty, rusty and unreliable pre-apocalypse civilian weapons.
I find my tablet pencil to be just as dynamic as a pencil and light as a normal ink pen with a grip. I don't really see that much difference in the texture and lines the pencil makes and the tablet makes when it comes to doing it easier. If you want a different texture you'd need to draw on a different type of paper or use a different pencil, if I understand you right (which I probably don't, so please, explain). Which really is the same as switching to a different brush or adjusting the brush settings. You can adjust a tablet just as well by adjusting your grip as that only changes how your press and where you press, which doesn't make much of a difference if it's digital or traditional. The traction I will however agree with. It is indeed harder to draw a circle, at least with a small tablet, when you get a good sized one the difference is obviously there, but not as big. [img_thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3655193/Nowabeliever.jpg[/img_thumb]
I still don't believe you. This is all a cunning government hoax! :tinfoil:
Well if I'm gonna go then I bid farewell.
A callout to all the creative musicians here : http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1036846-Free-music-Let-s-create-some-awesome-music-and-put-it-all-together-as-a-CD!?p=26632352#post26632352 If anyone wants to create some sweet cover for this album, please do! The only thing that I wish to be incorporated is the facepunch logo in some way, the rest is up to you.
I hate drawing with my tablet. I'm not good in any sense, mainly because I don't practice, but the tablet's basically useless for anything other than texturing. I've even taped paper to the thing and am thinking about lazymousing it.
my first tablet drawing is pretty bad xD I'll try to dig it up and post in the rotfl newb art thread.
I'm so frustrated by my animation final. I have like a minute to go and it's taking SO LONG.
I'm frustrated by my machine learning project atm... 2 more questions to answer and the program takes SO DAMN long to run...
I'm about 40 seconds in now.
I'm a gigantic flaming faggot who just completed his first ever comission work, and payment of which is going straitght to charity. That flaming gigantic faggot also discovered it's 4 o clock in the morning and all my friends are sleeping ( and they don't like me anymore)
Captain Bald unfriended me, what a jerk. :(
If it makes you feel better, then; I would have done the same.
Oh fuckign great. The clot to whose charity I've been working until half-past 4 in the morning, which is my personal record to stay awake, has no means of redeeming his gift. If this goes on much longer me and my self-sacrificialness is going to stop giving a fuck and I'm going to bed and the employer walks away with his money and the comission. Does kindness come from kidneys? :ohdear: [editline]12th December 2010[/editline] It's 5:10 now and after flamecow yelled at me to "CHILL OUT" I stopped giving a fuck. Employer is happy and I'm never, ever in my whole life doing any fucking charity for anyone again.

Some people are just full-time assholes.
Looking at what shit is popular at this moment on deviantart frontpage it really makes me want to blow my brains off in front of a kindergarden class or to send a hefty donation of firearms to some african country
last night it snowed snowballs. It was heavy, wet snow and came down hard like it was being thrown at you by zeus :psyduck:
You're snowing snowballs. I take it that the no reply on my PM means that getting the release thread on the forum album stickied in GD is a no go then?
You're snowing snowballs. I think it's a good idea, but it may be tough getting enough cooperation to stick with you for a month. I say go ahead, just be prepared for it to fall through.
I want snow :saddowns: We don't typically get snow that sticks until January and it's rarely more than an inch.
Oh the deadline until release is 3 months, and so far a few have shown interest. The start is always a bit slow on these kind of projects but I'm completely confident that it will pick up the pace as the holidays start and there is no more school to do. :)
oh wow I just opened the curtains and was greeted by a white-out blizzard. Can't see the ground from the second floor of the office. I'd take a picture, but... v:v:v
