If regulated well, it could effectively stop the spread of STDS and allow for the gradual elimination of said diseases. Napoleon endorsed the idea (He lost his virginity to a Breton prostitute after all.) and it showed good results in his army. When syphilis arrived in Italy during the Italian wars of the 16th century it devastated armies.
So if your wife had a friend who was a guy she would be free to fuck him to her heart's content?
They might be dating together on their spare time, then it's cheating but if he is just a customer so to speak them it's not cheating. This particular situation is complicated obviously but I would just simply ask her if there's something more between them or if it's just sex. I would never marry anyone who I wouldn't be able to trust.
I'm fine with it just as long as there is strict regulation both for protection of the women as the customers. And as long as there is strict regulation and control on where the women come from (slave traders etc, yes they exist in the modern world).
Such as weekly health screening
-snip-
I saw your post, why'd you snip it? It was fine.
Keeping pre-teens away from sex is a good thing though isn't it? Wouldn't it be alot harder to do that with prostitution?
I saw your post, why'd you snip it? It was fine.
it was supposed to be an edit to my original post :v:
I saw a documentary about a brothel in some american state. They're doing everything correct there, weekly health checks, health insurance from employer, free condoms, own security, strict policies. Top notch place.
Keeping pre-teens away from sex is a good thing though isn't it? Wouldn't it be alot harder to do that with prostitution?
Not really. I think the people writing the laws would think to include a "all sex workers must be over 18" clause. Or if you mean pre-teens having sex with prostitutes then I still don't know. How will they pay for it?
Keeping pre-teens away from sex is a good thing though isn't it? Wouldn't it be alot harder to do that with prostitution?
You can card people, just like alcohol. They make devices that are very cheap where you scan their ID and it verifies their age and stuff.
Keeping pre-teens away from sex is a good thing though isn't it? Wouldn't it be alot harder to do that with prostitution?
Legal Prostitution != Legal Pre-16 Sex It's like saying that they need to close Systembolaget (swedish government alcohol store) because someone might use it to buy (köpa ut) booze to teens.
Not really. I think the people writing the laws would think to include a "all sex workers must be over 18" clause.
Yeah obviously, I just mean, if there were brothels here and there and commercials for prostitution kids would get kinda curious, no?
What I mean is, kids will start looking into sex and experiment.
Yeah obviously, I just mean, if there were brothels here and there and commercials for prostitution kids would get kinda curious, no?
They're not gonna be able to afford it with their weekly allowance :v: But on a more serious note, they're going to find out about it anyway sooner or later. It's the same argument for teaching sex ed early.
Yeah obviously, I just mean, if there were brothels here and there and commercials for prostitution kids would get kinda curious, no?
There wouldn't be any commercials for sex just like there's no commercials for Vodka (in Sweden).
What I mean is, kids will start looking into sex and experiment.
Being curious is wrong?
Legalise, regulate, tax a little, crack down HARD on human traffickers and bad pimps. Hell, make uni courses on how to truly satisfy a customer; it's a profession like all other jobs.
No I mean, 8 year old boy plays with 8 year old girl. I'm all for sex ed at like, age 13 or 14.
It would also force a better sex ed in schools which is always a plus. [editline]21st September 2011[/editline]
No I mean, 8 year old boy plays with 8 year old girl. I'm all for sex ed at like, age 13 or 14.
In Sweden it's illegal to have sex pre-15(16?).
No I mean, 8 year old boy plays with 8 year old girl. I'm all for sex ed at like, age 13 or 14.
I don't really see the problem. Not like he can knock her up
It's illegal to have sex before age 15, but how would that stop kids? We don't learn of the law that early, and we definitely don't learn about sex that early. Kids would be doing it without knowing what they were doing.
I knew this would be a big fast hit for debate on FP. You sex addicts. You all arouse me.
No I mean, 8 year old boy plays with 8 year old girl. I'm all for sex ed at like, age 13 or 14.
how does prostitution affect that? it wouldn't affect it any more than, say, porn
I'm actually for keeping it illegal. It's not a good career path for anybody and if it's legalized it will only make more women join in if it's just seen as a normal, every day job.
I don't really see the problem. Not like he can knock her up
So it's still okay for them to do things like oral or just play with eachothers genitals?
Should be legal in all states. Should be taxed possibly too? And they should have regular STD tests that they have to register with the state or something.
how does prostitution affect that? it wouldn't affect it any more than, say, porn
Porn is very much secretive, it exists in specific magazines and on the internet, there is really no way for a child to stumble upon porn.
If women want to pursue this career choice, I won't stop 'em, no one should.
It's illegal to have sex before age 15, but how would that stop kids? I'm all for better and earlier sex ed.
Porn is very much secretive, it exists in specific magazines and on the internet, there is really no way for a child to stumble upon porn.
Um...sites like redtube and youporn can be easily found by accident.
They definitely should. I'm all for better and earlier sex ed.
When exacly should we teach children about sex, at age 6?
