Porn is very much secretive, it exists in specific magazines and on the internet, there is really no way for a child to stumble upon porn.
Internet and dads Playboy magazines? That's how it worked out for me at least.
Um...sites like redtube and youporn can be easily found by accident.
Why would you allow a child that young on the internet anyways?
Why would you allow a child that young on the internet anyways?
I was allowed online at that age.
When exacly should we teach children about sex, at age 6?
Around sixth grade? That's when the sex drive kick in among normally developed kids.
I'm actually for keeping it illegal. It's not a good career path for anybody and if it's legalized it will only make more women join in if it's just seen as a normal, every day job.
why isn't it a good career path? who are you to say what is and what isn't a good career path?
i'm not personally attacking you, i'm just pointing out that what may be a bad career path to you, may be a good career path to someone else.
Why would you allow a child that young on the internet anyways?
Why not? Allowing a kid to use internet is the same as allowing them to go outside alone.
Why not? Allowing a kid to use internet is the same as allowing them to go outside alone.
Yep. Like it or not, the internet is fueling society.
Keeping pre-teens away from sex is a good thing though isn't it? Wouldn't it be alot harder to do that with prostitution?
Not necessarily and not necessarily.

Most prostitutes only do what they do because it's the only way they can make a decent living and get by. There's tons of risks involved and I don't think selling your body to be used however by anybody should be seen as a normal career path.
Would you be perfectly okay if your daughter decided she wanted to be a prostitute when she grew up? As long as it's seen as taboo, things like that won't be a problem.
as long as it's consensual I don't see anything wrong with it whatsoever

What? The fact that it's a taboo is the root cause of the problem. The negative reputation is what causes people to think it's okay to treat sex workers like second class citizens. That's why prostitution is such a shitty job in this world.
In a world where it's legal, regulated and treated like any other job where you provide a service, that stigma vanishes and becomes a perfectly acceptable way of making money. (I wouldn't say a career path, but neither is being a waiter. One is looked down upon, the other isn't.)
Kind of reluctant, but the main plus about this is that it would improve the situation for those who are already working this "career". If prostitution received the same status as other professions the practitioners would not be at the mercy of criminal organizations or subject to horrible working conditions, they'd be protected by law and regulations and wouldn't necessarily fit the typical social outcast stereotype anymore. They could form unions defending their rights and they would be taxed, of course.

This, oh so this.
What sort of pathetic creature pays for sex? This should never happen.

It's would be a much better alternative to having a wank, provided it's legal, no?
Edit: That's would actually be very convenient alternative to having to search for a one night stand.
My parents got internet when I was at age 9, I didn't find out about porn untill 3-4 years later because I had pretty much never heard of it because you don't accidently go onto a porn site and people don't talk about sex around a kid.

I didn't start feeling sexual untill around 3-4 years later and that's really when I started looking into the stuff. Not because anyone had told me to.

You don't have to pay for that, and it won't give you STDs. So prostitution is not "a better alternative".

and that's relevant, how?

Condoms. Vagina.
and that's relevant, how?
Unless you show a kid sex, he won't bother with it.
[editline]21st September 2011[/editline]
But if a kid learns about sex as a part of the everyday life he'll obiously look into it and experiment.
You people seem to miss the point. If prostitution is to be legalize then it would get (mostly) rid of pimps, STDs, etc. because it would be regulated, just like any other job.
You don't have to pay for that, and it won't give you STDs. So prostitution is not "a better alternative".
You really shouldn't be sleeping with a stranger without wearin a raincoat, prostitute or not, that's pretty basic common sense.
As long as it's kept away from the everyday life and kids then fine.
Prostitution is already legal and regulated in my country and in my opinion that is a pretty good thing.

Yes, that's natural. This only calls for a better sex ed at schools and parents willing to discuss those topics with their kids in time.
Condoms. Vagina.
Still not guaranteed, still expensive.
Yes, that's natural. This only calls for a better sex ed at schools and parents willing to discuss those topics with their kids in time.
If we teach kids about sex and tell them they're not allowed to do it, you think they'd listen?
Unless you show a kid sex, he won't bother with it.

Oh that's a filthy make-belief. Sexual desire kicks in at a certain point in life no matter what you do.
Oh that's a filthy make-belief. Sexual desire kicks in at a certain point in life no matter what you do.
Yeah, when you're like 12 or perhaps 11 at earliest.
Legalize it, what two consenting adults do is none of the government's business.
Yeah, when you're like 12 or perhaps 11 at earliest.
What exactly is the problem here? Do you think it will mentally harm a kid to know what a vagina looks like at the age of six? We hide the details of sex from children is because we think of it ourselves as shameful, for no real reason to be honest.
