I'm for it.
This is the only way for rich nerds to get laid. I am serious.
I'm for it
I mean a porn star is just a prostitute in a studio with cameras about so why is that legal and the other one isn't
I've read that prostitution causes bad mental and dangerous physical side effects, so I'm against it.
For who? The prostitute or the people having sex with them?
I've read that prostitution causes bad mental and dangerous physical side effects, so I'm against it.
that doesnt make any sense, unless its prostitution with someone whos going to mentally destroy you in the process and unless they have std's. legalize it and
A: dont have to go with the one available prostitute who enjoys telling you how your a failure and will never get anywhere
B: make sure that they dont have std's, with checks for both the "customer" and the "provider"

Oh yeah.
Prostitute:"Okay, before we perform the sexual activities--We gotta go to the clinic and get checked up."
Guy: "Yeah, Uhm, alright."
--1 hour later--
Prostitute: "Alright, drop your pants."
Guy: "I don't feel like fucking anymore."

Please provide a source if you're going to make such a claim.

The people usually being the prostitutes a lot of the times have some trauma or psychological problems which brings them down the road of becoming a whore, take note of many famous pornstars who usually end up revealing their fucked up childhoods or past but there is no evidence to support mental scarring and physical side effects from prostitution other than risk of STD's or maybe a development obsession or fetish for fucking whores. Now, I agree prostitution should be legal, but in brothels and not on the streets.
I don't see the big fuss about it.
Here it's legal, as long as there's no guy above (pimp dawg), meaning girls have their own local "massage clinics", example; http://taruppigerne.dk/
The majority of Denmark believes it should be illegalized, however a TV show did a study, and the girls are fine with what they do. It's their dream job.
When a lot of people think prostitution, they're thinking girls who're forced into selling their bodies, walking the streets, and so on. It doesn't have to be this way.

I agree with Denmark keeping it legal, back in the UK it isn't but it still goes on, they just advertise as "escorts" instead. I think pimps being illegal but prostitution being legal is realistic as it happens in every country and it's good that these girls can get protection by the law if needed.
Prostitution (from a certain standpoint) works in the same manner as the drug industry, as well as abortion.
When illegal, the risks and prices go through the roof. It's just unsafe and irrational to keep these industries illegal as they can't be regulated and, hence, only brings harm to the inevitable customers.
hey whores need to make money some how
they need to feed their crack infested children after all

naw, but seriously, I'm on the fence with this.
Its nasty, but I'm also in America, 'land of the free'
I think it would be a lot better to be legalised, moderated and taxed.
Puts the girls to less risk, puts the clients to less risk, and generates revenue. What's not to like?

Which is why it needs to be legalized everywhere.
Something's illegal, yet people continue doing it. Obviously the laws needs modifications. If it's even dangerous for others at a certain point, it dramatically needs change.
Again, refering back to my home country. We're starting to get a suggestion through, which involves safe areas around major towns where addicts are able to fix themselfs while slowly decreasing the doses they take.
Great example of how something like this should be handled, as instead of them illegaly doing it on the streets or public toilets, they're now kept safe away from the community surrounding them, plus they're turning the progress of illegal drug dealing into a profitable business for the healthcare system, and still limiting it to the original law, by keeping anyone not already addicted away.

It's the girls bodies. If they're forced into it, whetever it's slavery or financial reasons, there should be available options for getting back on track, however if it's a self made choice, let them.
How come porn doesn't count as prostitution.
It's legal in Netherland too.
I'd just say, if you're not forced to do it and you like it, then do it!
It should be legal in the same way drugs should. To get rid of abuse and keep crime low, as well as improving the prostitution by way of regulating cleanliness.
I'm not forcing my morals onto anybody by doing that. Would you get together with someone who looks at sex as an object, something she/he's shared with an innumerable ammount of people an innumerable ammount of times?
Yes.
