Any european facepunchers here going to see Ozzy & Friends?
Going to see Sabbath at Download
Why did they make the worse guitarist play leads? Drums are okay, bass is inaudible (thus okay in metal), vocalists cleans are good enough. The biggest problem here is lead guitarist. Overall, not the worst live performance by (hopefully) young and starting metal(core) act.
Have some new Spawn of posession, Couldn't select just one song.

this Saturday my grind band is playing at a squat house (house illegally occupied, in this case by punks). I checked it out today and it was pretty run down & dirty, but I'm sure we'll fit in just fine. Funny part is, the gig was proposed by this shitty power metal band we share our rehearsal space with, and they'll be playing right after us. I'm not sure punks are the target audience for power metal but whatever.
Out of all the songs we'll be playing (46 in an hour or so), the one I'm worried about most is our Brutal Truth cover. it's fucking exhausting to play.

New Ensiferum album announced. I have been waiting for this for so long.

It's going to be good, I assume. They're studio diary was quite enjoyable.
On the track listing the track #9 is "Last Breath", which is also name of Norther's (Vocalist/guitarists previous band) old song.
It would be kind of cool if they did cover of his old song.
just came back from playing at the squat house... holy shit, the place was extremely fucking hot and I'm literally dripping with sweat right now. but it was great fun and I even got asked to sign a stick for this guy I don't even know. I left right when the power metal band started playing, it would've been fun to see all the punks' reactions tho.

I have been loving me some blackguard
Just started getting into old school death metal like Death, Morbid Angel, and Venom. I love it.
Check out Incantation, Obituary and Autopsy for more old-school US death metal, and Entombed, Dismember and maybe Grave for som good swedeath. There's a lot more stuff than that but that's the fairly well known stuff.
Check out Bolt Thrower as well, the early stuff is pretty grindy but they're a pretty interesting entity in the annals of Death Metal. Personally I'd advise you to avoid most of the modern throwback stuff since it's essentially the same as the od school but not as good, stick to checking out actually new stuff imho.
Try Atheist if you like Death.

And Cynic.
Damn those smug bastards, the part at 4.20 onwards is the the most metal and un-metal thing at once.

And Nocturnus.

Man, Sludge and Stoner metal are the best.
Any recommendations similar to Kyuss, Kylesa, Mastodon, and Baroness?
