I understand Behemoth topping Despised Icon, Gojira smoking Kataklysm and CoB beating Psycroptic purely because of fan-base but ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?! Vader was a fucking pioneer of death metal; Meshuggah learned how to strum one string.

Wow, I like Meshuggah but I agree, Vader should've won. I suppose it could because of younger metal listeners who've never heard of Vader(I've met quite a few who've never heard of Death...)

You could try Hacride, another French prog death metal band, the only other band I can think of at the moment.

From Mars To Sirius is their best album, imo. It's got everything that a concept album would have, but at the same time every song could be a single.

I tried it and I can't really get into it. It's got a really impressive wall of sound and it's massive as whales themselves, but the songs come off as sort of samey samey and bland. World To Come was the only song I really like off the album besides the opener and a few other tracks.

Dude, Blind Guardian was probably one of the first bands I found when I got into metal :v: . Thanks nonetheless, though. Also, I meant something like the part where they were going, "Unbearable light within the dark, incredible source of spectral madness" and whatnot.

I like it, Deathcore doesn't bother me much, my only real problem is a lot of it sounds the same(same with Metalcore).
