I understand Behemoth topping Despised Icon, Gojira smoking Kataklysm and CoB beating Psycroptic purely because of fan-base but ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?! Vader was a fucking pioneer of death metal; Meshuggah learned how to strum one string.

I suppose it could because of younger metal listeners who've never heard of Vader(I've met quite a few who've never heard of Death...) Some Vader. Can someone recommend me stuff like this? I never care much for Gojira's other stuff.

Yeah still not doing it for me. I might check it out later but thanks for the recommendations.

It's got everything that a concept album would have, but at the same time every song could be a single.

It's got a really impressive wall of sound and it's massive as whales themselves, but the songs come off as sort of samey samey and bland. World To Come was the only song I really like off the album besides the opener and a few other tracks.
Well I'm going to my cottage on an island for 3 days so I have no electricity....can anyone recommend me some good metal songs on the acoustic? So stuff like Solitude from Sabbath, Bible Black from (well I'm just going to say Sabbath again but you know what I mean. Anything that's heavy, dark ambient sounding or in general sounds awesome I guess

Thanks I'll definitely try those out as they all sound pretty awesome, though if anyone has any more feel free to throw them my way
Dude, Blind Guardian was probably one of the first bands I found when I got into metal :v: . Thanks nonetheless, though. Also, I meant something like the part where they were going, "Unbearable light within the dark, incredible source of spectral madness" and whatnot.

Now I know you guys aren't huge fans of deathcore... but this is different. Give it a chance.
I like it, Deathcore doesn't bother me much, my only real problem is a lot of it sounds the same(same with Metalcore). New(ish) song from lich king. No-one posted it yet, i think. Fantastic riffs but don't really like the witty lyrics, but then again, it's lich king.
Thanks for the songs, shame some of them sound a lot better with something else playing and not the acoustic by it's self, I'm surprised there isn't more of this stuff honestly, not that easy to find.
I've been really getting back into Blind Guardian, those multi-layered vocals are fucking incredible.
that makes me want to play robot unicorn attack heavy metal again
Broken Hope is back together and will be touring with Obituary, Decrepit Birth, Jungle Rot, and Encrust. I don't think the dates have been announced yet but I'm looking forward to this tour.
