what's sarcasm? Someone please explain it to me guys I listen to anal cunt how can you think I take metal super seriously. The ban thing was a joke, I just don't like deathcore. I was being serious about Emmure being so ~badass~ but that's all Jesus
anal cunt are brilliant and seth putnam is my hero and role-model
also shoot me down all you want for it but bmth=legit progressive and constantly pushing boundaries and are one of the single most important metal bands of the 21st century.
I listened to their latest album and they actually seemed to be going somewhere good with Crucify Me and Memorial but the rest of it was pretty medicore. aren't they doing post-metal next album or something
oh cool this page isn't entirely composed of youtube videos holy shit. y'all should check out diskord's latest album btw, progressive and kind of abstract DM but it's not wanky shite like a lot of prog metal
Got a link?
I listened to their latest album and they actually seemed to be going somewhere good with Crucify Me and Memorial but the rest of it was pretty medicore. aren't they doing post-metal next album or something
ye. I'm interested to see where they go with that. I'd think it's safe to say they've been constantly evolving, the only really generic thing they've done imo was their first EP. Even their debut wasn't really by the books deathcore, it had a unique feel to it (and quite a big scandanavian metal influence, imo) and they've just been defining their sound as they go. They're better musicians than people take them to be which I understand going by their look and fanbase tbh but still. also anal cunt=non-ironically fuckin awesome, groovy as shit
speaking of anal cunt fun starts around 1:10
yarr
if we're doing pirates anyone know any thrash similar to this though? and for addition, Lagerstein, new kids on the block.
Swashbuckle's vocals are a little too thrashy for me. I'm not a huge fan of them. While we are all coming out of the -core closet. Have the best deathcore band to ever write music. and something else you guys might enjoy.
That was actually pretty decent, apart from breakdowns (especially the first one, it felt so forced and unnatural). That being said, with most of -core genres I like only couple bands. Expect metalcore. Only metalcore act I've found worth listening to are Converge and Austrian Deathmachine, the rest feel/sound either corny. Or boring 'at the gates ripoff riffs, clean vocals and breakdowns' mishmash. I'm not counting LoG in metalcore, they seem like what ever genre Pantera and (later) Machine Head are. That being said, have some -Core that I enjoy. I'm pretty sure Hardcore counts as -Core, even though it's not metal (Rytmihäiriö is arguably metal, but all HC isn't necessarily). Bit more accessible than most Grindcore, but still raw enough. More traditional grinding. As serious as death-core should be, imho. Also as good as deathcore gets, from what I've so far hear'd.

For Metalcore, it really varies and I can't really give any names because it's hard to properly remember alot of them. :v: Deathcore however, Whitechapel and Benighted are the first ones to come to mind. I also like some hardcore and I'm probably gonna get flogged for it, but, I like Emmure. Hell, I'm considering seeing them and Parkway Drive in November, if I have the cash for it.
So you mean Groove metal, like they have always been? :v:
Yeah, Groove metal, if you want to call it that. But it does not have groove necessarily, so I classify those bands as 'what ever pantera is'. You know, not clean or growled vocals, but not thrashy or nü. That genre that falls in between, so to speak.
Yeah, Groove metal, if you want to call it that. But it does not have groove necessarily, so I classify those bands as 'what ever pantera is'. Also the vocal style you are looking for is Harsh vocals.
Pantera is Groove. So is Lamb of God. End of. Also the vocal style you are looking for is Harsh vocals.
Yeah, and James Hetfield used to use harsh vocals, and he does not play 'groove'. I never implied LoG doesn't have 'the' groove, but I'm pretty sure Machine Head isn't that groovy. To me it is 'that' genre, groove metal does not describe the music well enough. DtG or Abnormity is more groovy than many bands described as 'groove' metal. I'm not stopping you from calling it groove, but I won't call it groove myself.
Dude, I did not imply that harsh = groove. And they are called groove (Machine Head, Pantera and LoG) play and call themselves. Groove is just as varied as any other genre. Also, to add, Machine Head play p. much a blend of groove, a newer (?) style of Thrash and progressive metal lately.

This is leading no where, the genre is pretty limited niche of bands that don't fit well in other bands in my opinion. Term 'Progressive' is used quite much these days, to describe bands such as bmth. There is no way I'd ever categorize Machine Head content to date as 'progressive metal'. If MH is progressive, so is Metallica. Also, content. Have some dubsteppy-metalish what ever.
usually don't post vidjas but hey stuff with breakdowns

And Emmure is awesome, they don't even take themselves serious. They are bros.
usually don't post vidjas but hey stuff with breakdowns *siq*
Siq, brah.

Possibly the only slam metal music video. Also for extra slamz--- Cam and I Declare War doing a song 2gether. 2ignorant4most.
If you want some good metal from Big Chocolate listen to his slam band Disfiguring The Goddess
Yes, 2 posts above that I mentioned DtG. I still find his new stuff quite pleasing. Page has enough core already, have Industrial something. Not shitty Norwegian black metal band that started this millennium? Godflesh is good for you. Can't dump Industrial without Laibach, despite the fact that is not really metal. Probably going to take flack for this but I haven't listened to a lot of metal recently and Between the Buried and Me's new album leaked and it's actually pretty good.
I saw Benighted live, they were pretty great also I love streetcleaner
Streetcleaner is deffo one of my favourite records, it sounds amazing and the concepts/lyrical themes and shit really resonate with me when I listen to it.
Anyone heard of Vreid? Saw them supporting Paradise Lost in a venue with shitty sound (Wolves Slade Rooms) a while back and didn't notice how great they were. Just listening to the V album now.
Ordinance are fucking awesome [editline]22nd September 2012[/editline]
That was actually pretty decent, apart from breakdowns (especially the first one, it felt so forced and unnatural). I am a Death Metal enthusiast. Was lucky to see this band live in the Death to All Tour.
That being said, with most of -core genres I like only couple bands. Expect metalcore.
Didn't even notice this. You dissin' one of my favourite genres, brah? The Empire Shall Fall - Awaken Times of Grace - Strength in Numbers And of course some classics. Yes I am not a faggot, and yes I like Killswitch Engage. #noshame #teenage quotes Killswitch Engage - The Element of One (Live) Awwwwwww yeaaaaaaaaaaaa. Killswitch Engage - Life to Lifeless [editline]awd[/editline] Fuck youtube, the videos slow the page down way too much. [editline]awd[/editline] But nah I can get how you don't like metalcore, there are quite a lot of shitty bands in that genre. And I am pretty sure most people don't even like the bands I like. :v: And that is okay.
this band is pretty cool, they took radioheads street spirit song and made it super kvlt and atmoshperic
