not at all, i love maiden and sabbath but i'm reasonably certain that anyone who posts in this thread has listened to both those bands a bunch of times (even if they don't like them) and there are probably plenty of us (me included) who know both their discogs inside out so imo there's not much utility in posting YT videos of their songs.
Cirith Ungol, on the other hand, aren't [I]that[/I] well known and i don't think they ever got the recognition they deserved. Fucking good band too.

concrete jungle was cool but bls is pretty pointless seeing as you have bands who already did it better like down and floodgate. zakk wylde is mega overrated and his playing style feels like a bad dimebag parody
sighs a melancholy sigh because good southern metal bands are a needle in a haystack
also zovox hun i've personally got little to nothing against the bands you're posting (serj is great!), but unfortunately most of the folks in this thread look down upon those newer waves of metal bands :( hate to be the party pooper but just an unfortunate warning. outta curiosity, d'ya like meshuggah? :o

theres probably loads of gojira fans in this thread but thankfully i'm not one of them.
That said i [I]did[/I] see them at sonisphere in 2011 (i think) and they were actually pretty good considering how sterile all their studio albums are. too much groove metal in their sound for me, i think.
i think gojira is great, way of all flesh is a killer record
cool sounds + cool lyrical themes. "green metal" is A+ in my book

i'm hoping if i keep saying things we'll get another page that isn't top-to-bottom yt videos so has anyone heard of Ahulabrum? Pretty weird black metal mostly concerned with UFO sightings and aliens. The production is pretty bad and the vocals sound like someone choking but its pretty interesting stuff.
I do love that groove Gojira possess, they're definitely one of the tightest bands I've heard.

I see, I grew up with old heavy metal, like Black Sabbath, Dio and all that stuff. My brother and father only listen to that kind of music.
And yeah, kind of. I listened a lot to them earlier, but I started to grow a little tired of them because many of the songs sounds all the same. :v: Saw them live 2009.

italian heavy metal, very much in that tradition of the latter days of prog and hard rock that iron maiden picked up on in the early eighties. In terms of the band's attitude and sound, they do actually remind me A LOT of Cirith Ungol who these days are one of my fav metal bands of that vintage.
man thin lizzy is like the only good hair/glam band ever and i love them they are great
