i was about to say something then i realised i've been playing GURPS rather than d&d for the last month.
only black metal i can really get into is early mayhem because it's so punk-oriented (and then i guess some blackened hardcore bands)
with most BM the cheese is just so intensely repelling
i'm fine with black metal
the whole image/corpse paint is rather silly but I find the music to be pretty enjoyable imo
I'm not really a big fan of black metal either. But the choir and orchestra just makes this particular song awesome.
I think the earliest Dimmu Borgir is pretty good.

i really like a lot of BM but mostly now my favourite stuff tends to be really ugly demos made by fucking nutters like the LLN guys or some south american in his mums basement
