australian tech-death, came out last week/week before and I have to say, I'm quite impressed, since modern tech-death doesn't often manage to avoid the "huurrr look how fast we can play" songwriting style, wheras these guys seem to have bothered, y'know, making decent riffs and songs. Nice thrashy sections in there too. Vocals are a bit rubbish though.
Coroner is like one of the best metalbands ever, they never get old. Not a single bad album.

They need a new album. Enough said.

I'm really sad that I missed Coroner at Bloodstock last year :< Really wanted to see them and didn't for some reason :( Ah well.

Guy on another forum I'm on cites that as true power metal, and that Rhapsody of fire, Olympos Mons and Cellador are for casuals.

Urgh The Chasm are so GOOD. Especially Procession to the Infraworld - I mean, damn, it's just mind-bendingly excellent - and the drummer is amazing. And it's from Mexico to they're basically Aztecs. And Aztecs are cool.

Looked them up, sounds interesting. The only Mexican band I've seriously listened to is Xibalba.
I know this isn't the best place to ask, because you people seem to hate anything that's not 80s traditional heavy metal / NWOBHM or early 90s death metal, but I'll ask anyways.
Does anyone have any suggestions for metal bands that play some fusion of power metal and death metal?
Bands that use a combination of death vocals and death instrumentation with power vocals and power instrumentation, or just death metal instrumentation with power vocals. Looking for both kinds. First video is an example of the former, second the latter.

I don't know why, but power-death fusions have been on my mind lately. And I don't even have any bands that play it in my library. :v:
Note that I want more than the weak cleans that melodic death metal of the clean/harsh vein tend to bring the table - I want fall on falsetto, vibrato, and cheesy vocal melodies out the fucking wazoo. I want full-on power metal.
