I was going to do lucid dreaming, and so i get to the point where i'm pretty sure i'm dreaming, so i'm going to get up to use light switches (best way to check if you're dreaming) And i can't get up. :frown: Fuck
I get sleep paralysis all the time but I never lucid dream.
You have to make sure your body thinks your asleep, Make sure you DON't move at all. Your body will get like itches and tingles, Ignore it or it screws up your mental state where it thinks your body is asleep. But the whole thing behind it is, Have the body fall asleep and keep your mind active. Eventually you'll start to have Hallucinations or see various colors and shapes. It basically means that your having a dream but your still aware your awake. Eventually the dream becomes vivid and you still think your awake, And yet your eyes are closed you can still see an image. The transition is to roll over to fall over wherever you are or get up and grab something. From the sustaining a Lucid Dream is all up to your focus to the dream and how well you can keep "Believing" this is real. Otherwise you start to warp out of the Lucid Dream and you start feeling the bed and you eventually just fuck it up back to normal. Or it could be a false awakening and resets the dream it's a total mind fuck to be honest.

Try meditating instead.
Spirit Guide.....haha But seriously, it's just your subconscious. There is no spirit. It's just 100% you without bias etc.
Spirit Guide is the general term the forums I browse consider this "Being". I mean, yeah it's your subconscious but it's also there to guide you though the dream. And it's also there to ask questions. You are him, He is you. He is everything you are. He is the truth, He is the gateway. In a sense. I mean, You can't really ask your self simple questions because you can't really admit some stupid things that you wouldn't believe all because we're in a sense in denial because we don't want to admit the thing we hate most.
Why does every dream thread have a "yes I know there's a dream thread but mine's different"
I would love to do this, but I'm afraid of sleep paralysis Is it possible that instead of beginning to see shapes and colours, it'd be a living nightmare?
This belongs in the Megathread.
It would, But the main point of this about self discovery. It does involve Lucid Dreaming I will admit. But the whole point is to wonder as to who you are. And finding out the answers. Mediation helps you think, But you can't answer a question about your self. especially if it's something that you can't admit yourself. We're all in denial about something, regardless of circumstances. It just depends on the one thing we hate most, that we want to find out if we are that. [editline]09:40AM[/editline]
Why does every dream thread have a "yes I know there's a dream thread but mine's different"
It's mainly because Lucid Dreaming plays a part in this, But it's not required 100% of the time. In terms, It is the only transitional way find out more about ourselves because we can't answer questions that we would otherwise avoid. Especially when it's stuff we can't admit ourselves because we don't want to admit it's true. There are plenty of ways to have these kinds of experiences, But lucid dreaming seems to be the easiest way to for anyone to pick up the process. And even if you don't bother trying, The theme is suppose to make you think more about your self and questioning the deep hidden truths that normally don't think about because we don't "Consciously" know it.
I had a lucid dream a few days ago, it was really weird, I was asleep for two hours and had like 4 dreams. On the second dream I think, I dreamed that some hot girl hit on my friend, and I said to myself: "Well this is weird, it's like a dream or something" (because he's not the type girls will talk to and so on), but this wasn't the lucid dream. In the next dream I was with a different friend and someone wanted to talk to him, can't remember who or how did he/she look like, and I said to myself: "Oh not again! I must be dreaming!" And then I realized that I was dreaming so I wanted to give it a test, I was on the street and there were houses on the other side of the street, it was night, so I thought to myself: "If this is a dream then all the lights in these houses will go on and off rapidly" and it happened, then I was like "All right! I can have superpowers and stuff now!" And then I just ran across my town very fast and I could jump very high and far, kinda like Prototype, and then the dream was over and my 4th dream started.

(At least the first 2 times.) After the third time when you noticed this was all a dream and started with the Flying, You became aware of that stuff. But in general the first two dreams would have thrown anyone off if it wasn't for the fact shit that normally doesn't happen, Does happen.
wow this sounds amazing I'm going to go on a quest to try to obtain a lucid dream now!
I had a lucid dream last night I was about to get laid and I woke up I think its trying to tell me something...
I had a lucid dream last night I was about to get laid and I woke up I think its trying to tell me something...
One of the issues with Lucid Dream Sex is that if you get too excited, The dream dispels. Apparently it fucks up your focus. PS: Your dream is telling you to go bang a chick. Or that you "Will" bang one soon.
Saying its about forcing yourself to sleep and leaving your mind conscious is not summing up Lucid Dreaming in general, but a WILD (Wake Initiated Lucid Dream), it has nothing to do with matrix, its not new age and you cannot get heart attacks from it. Most Lucid Dreams are DILD (Dream Initiated Lucid Dream) WIch is about finding out your dreaming, thereby "breaking the chain" and being able to actively participating in your dreams. WILD (Wake Init) DILD (Dream Init) Mild (Mnemonic Init) (Some weird hypno shit, i wouldnt try it.)
I dream of electric sheep.
I've actually been wanting to do this for a good week now, the Lucid Dreams thread said that if you conjure up an image of yourself you can have conversations with your subconscious. I'm not sure if I believe it but I'm open to the concept, the problem is I just can't get into Lucid Dreaming :saddowns:
I found out I was a killer through lucid dreaming.

The feeling of you not knowing who you are and being confused about your feelings is called puberty, teen angst, and High School. Lucid Dreaming is awesome, but using it to find yourself will do about as much good as sitting and thinking for an hour.
I must try this now...
Update: I still haven't slept yet, It's currently 9:27PM and I plan to attempt another lucid dream to night. I'll post up results in the morning. In the meanwhile, How come not many people try lucid dreaming? It's a pretty good way to express your desires and inner thoughts? It's like G-mod, Minus the god tier computer.

Alright, So an update would be this. I tried to Lucid Dream, and I ended up falling asleep. However my mental state seems a bit more clear then usual and I feel a slight buzz of happiness which is rare in this case. I've only slept for about 3-4 hours. If i remember correctly, So Now I'm going to attempt to go back to lucid dreaming since I have more hours left on my internal clock.
I had a semi lucid dreaming experience. I was aware I was dreaming; but I wasn't in control of the events that played out. In fact, I felt that I wasn't in the dream at all. I was in a form of "Spectator Mode". If you will. The dream itself was of a bank robbery. Not just any bank robbery, the real high class bank robbery. (I write my dreams down in a dream journal so I'm just going from this). This bank had solid steel walls, dozens of armed guards, cameras, security systems etc. And the vault: 80 meters underground, reinforced steel door, more armed guards and finger print ID to get in. (Come to think of it, I think I subconsciously stole the idea from Ocean's Eleven). Enter the bank robbers. Five of them. Each one of them look exactly like me. A most curious concept, I thought to myself from my aerial spectator view. They rode in inside an armored car with the bank's logo on it, and from what I can remember they were dressed in the uniform of bank employees. It pretty much starts with the fiendishly good looking robbers passing through the security checkpoint at the rear of the bank and continuing towards a second checkpoint which would lead to the elevator. They pretty much went through an airport security-esque process when suddenly they all pulled silenced pistols and quietly shot every one of the guards and employees at the checkpoint. However I believe they were using tranquilizers instead of real bullets come to think of it. One of the "clones" pulled a laptop from a bag and started tapping in commands, taking control of the security systems. I couldn't really remember much after this but I think the clones pressurized the vault room and this somehow knocked out all of the guards, and then they pried open the elevator doors, roped down, blew the vault open with a satchel charge and stole the money, leaving on the horse they rode in on while the guards awoke to find their shit missing. Quite odd. At least I know that in my subconscious I'm a criminal mastermind.

In general normal dreams can hold some meaning, Although I don't think being a criminal mastermind is one of them. Seems like your just acting out one of the most awesome dreams ever because you lack excitement in your life or something of the sort
Learn how to force regular dreams into your control. Feels good man.
so its like ask jeeves but asleep
Hmmm. The only one time I can remember having a lucid dream I fell off my couch. It was nothing as exciting as yours though.
