only because you read it a while ago, it doesn't mean everyone did
the recent hunger book came out at 2010 its march 26 2012
the recent hunger book came out at 2010 its march 26 2012
I watched a 58 year old movie just the other day I wouldn't have wanted it spoiled some people haven't watched star wars, some people haven't read the hitchhiker's guide to galaxy, stop with this dumbass mentality
This looks like Battle Royale: Pussy Edition
wow are you serious? you just spoiled the book for me if you're gonna give a book spoiler, don't do it right after you talk about the movie [editline]27th March 2012[/editline] and you didn't even add spoiler tags in the first place fucking really
As I said, even though it wasn't as explicit as it was on the book, [sp]Katniss was faking it so they could get sponsors so they'd have a biger chance of winning, if you didn't notice that, then it means you weren't paying attention, or did you really think Katniss changed her mind all of the sudden, or why do you think Haymitch sent her a note saying "You call that a kiss?" and in the end, when they get off of the train Peeta asks "What do we do now after the games?" and she says "I guess we try to forget" Also, your fault for reading spoiler tags..[/sp]
What do the Japanese call "The Hunger Games"?
Whoever came up with this is a god damn genius. Also just finished watching Battle Royale (I saw hunger games on Friday). I dunno they have a similar idea but they are also somehow distinctly different.
The writer refused to let go the "arena" setting making [sp]The capitol full of magical traps (which don't make any sense.) which for some reason only target rebels.[/sp] . The characters went downhill ([sp]And many got killed off without a reason[/sp]).The ending was awful But that's my thoughts about it, sorry for posting it as a fact
I think they were meant to be [sp]security systems, since when they were in the sewers, they said that when the avoxes use the tunnels during the day, the pods are disabled.[/sp] For your other point, I'll agree but they were [sp] sacrificing their life so Katniss could continue on her "mission" from Coin.[/sp]
This looks like Battle Royale: Pussy Edition
I watched Battle Royale and the concepts are similar, but beyond 'kids murdering each other in a gladiatorial type game' there aren't many similarities. If you're talking about the movies then yeah Battle Royale is way more hardcore, but as far as the books go, The Hunger Games has some surprisingly detailed moments of violence.
The narration style and the story get darker and darker in the following books, much like Harry Potter. In fact, I don't see a way Mockingjay can be adapted to a PG-13 movie. [sp]you know, with all the kid hostages blowing up in the end along with Primrose and the mega laser evaporating hundreds in the plaza.[/sp] I guess the fanbase will grow up along with the movies...
Did anyone else get the impression that the lead actress has some kind of massive aversion to swear words? Every line where she has to say "damn" or "hell" sounds really unnatural. I was worried for a minute, because one of her first lines is "Damn you, Gale"

Anything can be implied. A simple cut-away would suffice.

If they did something like that it'd be a big letdown. That one girl with the knives was in "Orphan" right?
Just saw it, thought it was pretty good. I had read the book a year ago, and it was good at following it. I was actually glad they cut out a lot of the time in the cave, that part of the book seemed to drag on forever to me.
One thing I thought was a bizarre choice, considering the nature of the story, is how early in the movie [sp]he scares off the deer she was about to shoot[/sp]. So are people hurting for food or is it just the lazy people who won't work for it like she does? Because if people are really hurting for food, then what he did makes no sense.
she has a fat face

Whats with the dumbs, that was in the book.
Well, my point is if people are hungry, it doesn't get any better than bringing home fresh meat. I thought when he asked what she was going to do with it he was jokingly implying she couldn't dress it and haul the meat back home. I figure if she's a hunter and gets a deer she can at least take some meat home.

Carrying a big deer carcass into town would be likely to get her arrested.
He asked that because the district was going to be crawling with security, due to it being reaping day. She also said she's only brought a deer home once before, so it probably isn't that big of a deal that she couldn't grab it this time.
Wait a second. If she can't bring anything back due to security, why is she hunting? If she can bring something back, or plans to eat what she hunts out in the field, then why not get deer meat?
I believe it's because venison is such a luxury that she'd have no way of explaining how she was able to afford or even obtain it. They also explain I think the first time she brought a dear back, people in district 12 started crowding around and stealing hunks of meat off the dear. And the last thing I remember is that she can hunt because the district officials usually turn a blind eye towards it cause they are usually among the people eating what she kills. However, if she were to flaunt what she was doing by bringing back a deer, they would have to do something or else risk themselves being found complacent with her hunting. Spoilers for Book 2. [sp]Her hunting fucks over a few citizens in District 12 in Catching Fire.[/sp]

If she had, say, some squirrels or some rabbit or something, that would attract a hell of a lot less attention than an entire deer carcass.
are there gonna be any sequels? [editline]26th March 2012[/editline] if yes, I hope they fix the camera shake thing, and add better character development
The graphics were okay, but I hope they fix that in a patch :v:
If the other wealthier districts need the material from the districts such as 12, why don't they provide them with highly technological tools to speed up the work process and get more material?
Shoot some squirrels and skin them, shoot the deer, wrap the deer meat in squirrel pelts, walk into town with your 'squirrels' for trade- done!
Why are you so hung up on this one small detail with minimal relevance to the plot
Why are you so hung up on this one small detail with minimal relevance to the plot
How does it have minimal relevance to the plot? Food is incredibly relevant to the plot, it's the reason Gale's name is in the HUNGER Games draw like 47 times or whatever. Her hunting shows her character, her defiance against the authorities and the Capitol and her willingness to do what is necessary to protect and provide for her family.
