Also, water very much has a flavor. If you haven't noticed this then there's something seriously wrong with your tastebuds, go see a doctor.
Actually technically you should be making it taste worse. In hard water there is calcium and magnesium, both are told to taste good by your brain in low dosages as they are helpful elements for bodily function. Filters remove these elements and essentially make the water less healthy and scientifically, less tasty.
I can never taste water so makes no difference.
Fortunately I live in a city where we have awesome tap water (as in voted better than the taste of bottled) but these things are awesome if you live in a place where the tap sucks.
tastes bad and its unhealthy for you. same thing with Bottled water. Tap water is actually more healthy because if something is wrong with the water the government will let you know. Bottled Water companies just throw it out there to consume and then you have to worry about BPA poisoning.
Except a lot of bottled water is just filtered tap water.
I own a Brita filter, and I can definitely say that yes, you absolutely can taste the difference between unfiltered and filtered tap water. And depending on your water source, that can be a very good thing. Also, the town I live in has tap water that is unsafe for drinking when it isn't filtered, so there's one more good reason to have one.
Damn straight. That shit has save me so much money, tastes great, and is pretty fast.
Water's all the same to me. v:razz:v
I live in Denmark, we don't need to filter our water :smug: But nice.
Cereal has thousands of insect eggs in it. Hot dogs are made from low-grade byproducts of meat processing. BLAH BLAH BLAH Who cares, it tastes good, and we would eat such things in a natural situation anyway. Just ignore it. All those things that scared people about hot dogs and what not just made me hungry so I went and bought a pack and fired up the grill.
What the almighty FUCK?
I drink bottled water, I don't need to filter it.
I live in Denmark, we don't need to filter our water :smug: But nice.
I live in Sweden. Same thing here.
What the almighty FUCK?
Micro-organisms.
Did you really need a thread on this?
Am I the only one who gets the feeling we're being shilled to? Brita water filters aren't that great... Let me guess, you'd also like to tell us how good Kinoki Footpads are? I bet dollars to doughnuts that OP is a corporate shill. It's called Stealth marketing, folks, don't buy into it.
Micro-organisms.
Well that's a huge difference.
I'm just saying this now, water itself has no flavour. What you're tasting is everything in the water that has nothing to do with the water itself. That is all.
I like the taste of water where I live, it's pretty hard due to the fact I live on a giant chalk hill. The kitchen where I work has Brita filtered water from the taps, but it just tastes 'meh' to me.
I tried some water from one of these once. Fucking disgusting. Unfiltered tap water is also healthier.
Tap water is for the cool dudes.
I hate the taste of tap water and bottled water was getting a bit expensive so about 2 weeks ago I went out and bought a Brita water filter pitcher like this: I was kinda skeptical about these things at first, but the only way I can describe these things is fucking amazing. It can filter like 40 gallons on one filter and they're only like $5 a piece. The water tastes great, even better than bottled water, and if it's any testament to that I went from drinking on average about a 12 pack of Sun Drop a week and now I've been 2 weeks or so without drinking a single one. They make filters for your faucet and fridge and everything so go get one, and experience this awesomeness.
You know 30% of bottled water is straight from the municipal tap and 50% goes through less testing and regulations than tap water. Only 20% of bottled water actually comes from the alps or wherever they claim to get it from and is properly tested.
What the almighty FUCK?
Wheatabix has So much iron in it you can take it out with a Magnet and see it.
What's wrong with tap water? :<
Tastes like lead and mercury.
I tried some water from one of these once. Fucking disgusting. Unfiltered tap water is also healthier.
WAT Tap water where im from has a horrible chlorine/fluoride taste to it. Running it through a filter (non brandname) takes out all the crap in it making the water taste significantly better. You think drinking chlorine and fluoride is good for you?
I tired that water once and it tasted really ...boring. I like the hard water I have around here. Most bottled water except Apolinaris and the cheaper ones are more softer around here and I don't like that.
Bitch, brita jugs require too much effort. What you want is filtered water straight from the motherfucking tap. I present to you... Franke TriFlow :iia:
I tired that water once and it tasted really ...boring. I like the hard water I have around here. Most bottled water except Apolinaris and the cheaper ones are more softer around here and I don't like that.
Enjoy your cancer.
People see the words "chemicals" and "impurities" and automatically assume they're bad. Ignorant bastards.
By making 'hard' water into 'soft' water you also remove healthy minerals such as calcium and magnesia ions, sure it tastes better, but it lacks something healthy.
I understand that you didn't actually read the OP, so let me clarify it for you. These things take all the taste-like-shit chemicals out of your tap water via carbon filters and leave you with clean water. The chemicals have already done their job by the point that the water comes out of your faucet so there is no reason for them to be in the water when you drink it. Also, water very much has a flavor. If you haven't noticed this then there's something seriously wrong with your tastebuds, go see a doctor.
Water has a very mild flavour though, in the UK they put fluoride in water as it helps keep your teeth healthy, I'm pretty sure these filters would remove this, besides I like the taste of tap water as apose to bottled.
You think drinking chlorine and fluoride is good for you?

Water fluoridation is effective at reducing cavities in both children and adults
they don't just put it in for shits and giggles you know.
Yeah now read the thread and you'll realise it is tap water. We use these and they're pretty good, they make tea taste loads better.
No... I have a brita filter, but i find it nicer straight out of the tap...
