You're not abnormal.
Thing with the net is that those suppressed feelings usually end up going out on others, so it's not really that much of a problem. But again, there will always be cases were someone get manically depressed or whatever, but that's not different with real life either.

I don't like leet-speak myself. But it's a natural process for most kids using the internet. Humans always seek for the fastest and easiest solutions. The language has always evolved and changed, and it will always continue to do so. The english you know today isn't very old and there has been a lot of people thinking just the same as you. That all this modern crap is raping the language. But what do you know, we find it to be the correct way.
