Any basic-trained Canadian Forces Infantryman can be said to operate at an equal level of proficiency to a U.S. Army Ranger, if not higher.
That is complete bullshit propagated by over zealous members of the CF, particularly fresh, ignorant recruits. A basic CF infantryman can operate his weapon and other weapons up to platoon level weapons, participate in an advance to contact, operate as a member of a section/platoon attack and can occupy a defensive position. Army Rangers have significantly more unorthodox training.
Army Rangers are pretty much the way to go, in terms of the American military, none of this USMC shit.
Hahaha. Army Rangers are specialized infantry/direct action unit, Canadian Infantry that have completed their advanced training may be well trained, but they are NOT anywhere near the proficiency level of a special operations force, not to mention all the shit Rangers train in that you won't find on any Infantry curriculum.
Canada, military? lol
Hi im grayronV2...fuck it. -Riotashuma
u wanna fight ill end u!!!
I've seen the CF clean out the U.S. Army Rangers during training exercises, which is why I made that claim. And on the quip about Americans and friendly fire, sadly that's true. Like the time that fighter pilot in Afghanistan bombed the fuck out of one of our platoons and killed a bunch of our guys because quote "I thought dey were terr-rists!"

The pilots got in deep shit for it, but you cant really say its a regular occurrence, even for the US military, mistakes are bound to be made no matter whose doing the shooting.
I like the Canadians. I don't know why America enjoys slagging them off so much. High-five Canada.
I'm joining in a few years.
I've seen the CF clean out the U.S. Army Rangers during training exercises, which is why I made that claim.
Calling bullshit on your claim, either that or you made a mistake and they weren't actually Rangers.
I love how literally almost noone knew about or talked about the Rangers until AFTER Modern Warfare 2 came out.
It would suck nuts for me in the military, when my superior says the enemy is 100 meters away, i would have no idea how far that is..
I love how literally almost noone knew about or talked about the Rangers until AFTER Modern Warfare 2 came out.
Black Hawk Down.
Even the rifles are copies
Diemaco C8's, vastly superior to the m16. Not to mention the scope is standard for all infantrymen, unlike the marines.
same level as an army ranger that's funny you have no idea how the military works at all, training means very little in real combat, it's more about instincts, and real life experiences
same level as an army ranger that's funny you have no idea how the military works at all, training means very little in real combat, it's more about instincts, and real life experiences
Hahaha. Right, so there's no point to teaching troops fire and movement or room clearance etc. Guess special forces just waste repetitive hours of their time training skillsets for shits and giggles right? Good job there.
Diemaco C8's, vastly superior to the m16. Not to mention the scope is standard for all infantrymen, unlike the marines.
No, not really. The C7/C8 has a hammer forged barrel. Other than that, they're practically identical.
I love how literally almost noone knew about or talked about the Rangers until AFTER Modern Warfare 2 came out.
Plenty of people knew about the Rangers and talked about them. It's just that YOU didn't notice the talk till AFTER modern warfare 2 came out. Infact, It boggles my mind how you even came to that conclusion. I'm not calling bullshit on his claim because of MW2, you can look for my posts for 5 seconds in the games section to see that I hate the entire series. It's simply a fact that Rangers are an SOF direct action capable unit, and like I said, canadian infantry may be well trained, but they are not the level of an SF unit.

Go buy memoirs from the Vietnam war, which was mostly an infantry centric war and a breeding ground for SF units operational experience. Australian infantry in vietnam were so very effective because of their training. There's a world of difference between what a soldier learns in basic training, and what he goes through at an infantry school (or Advanced infantry training as it's called in some countries). And yes, having switched on leadership is crucial, but so are the drills and tactics an infantryman relies on.
canada is cool... its just too far away from here

The training a soldier is given is meant to take over when the SHTF. It's drilled into you enough to become reflex, almost. You don't have to think hard about what you're doing when you're trained to that level, it just... happens. So yeah, training DOES matter. Very, very much.
wait MW2 has rangers? thats awsome now i want it. Its obvious Canadas infantry isnt like a SF unit, they are just elite infantry, i'm canadian BTW so dont take this offensive
except when america help, we get a lot more friendly fire
Sadly this has happend. Anyway, my cousin is currently in training for the Canadian Forces in Montreal.
