I only ever drank everclear once, I had 4 shots and 2 hours later I was sitting behind a house crying my eyes out.
Everclear is crazy shit.
I hate the feeling of being drunk since I turned 21, and drinking it is too much of a tedious effort if I can stand the taste.
I never used to be like this
So beers an alcohol.
Anyone like guinness? What should I know about it before I go out and buy a 30 pack of it to try because my state's laws are fucking retarded.
Honestly, I prefer tap guinness to cans/bottles. For bottles, I find that Sam Adams Cream Stout is surprisingly good.
Anyways, I'm ending my winter-break alcohol party with a bang, getting blackout and recording some songs. If possible, I'll post the outcome for you guys

I've been thinking about alcohol and how it affects me in my everyday life. Once I flerted with alcoholism when i started waking up around 9am, getting me some fresh breads, maybe some cheese and a couple of buds. It eventually morphed into a 6pack. Everyday. That was way before lunch, dude.
Idk, maybe the problem isn't how much you drink, but when and where you choose to.
When you stry drinking to get rid of your hangovers you realize like whoa man I should probably chill
Also when you are drunk and you keep accidentally drinking more and you're like deck why'd I just drink more whiskey I've already don't remember the past 3 days because I've been so hammered and then you take another shot to think about it and you're like fuck I did it again
I think that's a pretty good sign of alcoholism lol
Sorry for typos in on my phone and ironically drunk
So I guess good things do come outta me assaulting my liver. There's a bar 3 blocks from my house that does karaoke on Mondays and Wednesdays I was there last night cause well what else is there to do on a Monday night. I was doing the song country boy by aaron lewis after I got done ol boy came up to me and said he was starting a new band and that they needed a singer he liked my voice and said I should come to there next practice. Ended up shooting the shit with him til close and got my drinks bought all night

Personally I believe alcoholism begins when it starts to impede on your work. Such as getting drunk, getting absolutely no sleep, and going to work/college on continuous occasions. Or getting a good buzz before heading to work/college.
Don't get me wrong, getting blackout and not remembering the things you've done for the past three days is a straight sign of it, but there are exceptions like summer weekend or spring break
Being unable to moderate how much you drink when you need to can be a sign of problems but it's not necessarily indicative of alcoholism (speaks more about self-control really). Drinking more to get rid of a hangover in conjunction with being unable to throw the towel in isn't a good sign. Take a break on the booze.
Moving on though, now that its summer in Australia I've had to move onto lagers and lighter ales. Which sucks because I'd love to drink a stout or dark ale but it's just not worth it when your sweating your balls off.
Is getting like, shitfaced drunk, once a month, bad for my liver? As bad as people make out alcohol abuse to be?
If you are only getting drunk once a month the only worry you and your liver should have is whether you have taken paracetamol (acetaminophen) before having a drink.

It takes lots of regular, hard drinking for liver damage to become a problem and even then only ~20% of chronic alcoholics develop cirrhosis or hepatitis

I don't see alcoholism in such a productivist way, as independently from having appointments or schedules to keep or not, you're still hammering your liver and fucking up you digestive system.
The problem isn't getting unemployed or losing your house over alcohol, to develop cirrhosis and die a miserably slow painful death is what concerns me the most.

That's good to know:) I like to drink about once a month, and I usually get drunk. It's just really stress-relieving and fun to do at parties.

Well, I'm not too keen on binge drinking myself either, really. I'll only do it on special occasions.
If I'm out eating or something with some friends, I'll have one just to enjoy the taste.
Drank 6 beers and a quarter bottle of Jack Daniels.

The thing is, once I start drinking I don't stop.
last night i got full of beer and wine, in multiple orders each time.

Disclaimer to this post: Alcohol CAN cause addiction, disease, and violence, it can also cause awesome bonding nights with friends, and help you go to sleep. Hangovers aren't fun either.

i don't think you should hop in a discussion that began with an affirmative by stating that same sentence.
Alcohol is a shit tier "drug" but an awesome industry :)
just like nicotine, highly functional addicts is the key. bonus points if the substances promote death around the age of retirement from service.

Not everyone gets violent from booze. I sure as hell don't.
Yes it is a drug. It causes addiction, disease, and violence. It's like asking if water is a liquid.
The funny thing is that none of three things you listed there are requirements for a substance being a drug, nor do they necessarily make a substance a drug. That being said, alcohol is absolutely a drug, the only people who dispute that are people who instantly connotate "drugs" with "illegal".

i think you are being irresponsible saying everyone becomes a murderous junkie from alcohol.
if you're someone who doesn't know their limits and can't be responsible you shouldn't be fucking drinking
on your own or otherwise
