if there's one man who knows alcohol
"I am the alcohol."
151 rum made my brain go loco
"I am the alcohol."
*liquor [editline]1[/editline] and by that i mean the proper quote is, "i liquor the alcohol"
I dunno its only 5 percent more than the strongest shot i've ever had maybe you are just a pussy :v:
....I was talking more along the lines of swigging it from the bottle 190 proof alcohol is not something to fill your mouth with.
i have seen people slate alcohol quite a lot here, but for me its the perfect complimentary drug. i usually get drunk first, as the base for my buzz and then consume other things to exacerbate it. probably not very good for me but it feels fucking great.
One day, when I've got kids and they're old enough to understand what I'm talking about, I'll tell them: "You can do anything you want, just try to keep your hands off heroin and alcohol." Because those two are clearly the worst. And if heroin weren't so expensive that an addiction will automatically require you to steal and rob and stuff, and if it weren't so easy to OD on, I'd actually say alcohol is even worse than heroin.
it's more physically damaging but heroin is much more addictive and you see a lot more functioning alcoholics than functioning heroinholics
I just had a dream last night about knocking back absinthe. And then I woke up and remembered it's illegal where I live fu8yoidjhnfaj
it's more physically damaging but heroin is much more addictive and you see a lot more functioning alcoholics than functioning heroinholics
There are plenty of functioning heroinholics. The problems generally start arising when you run out of the stuff, just like with alcohol. And I wouldn't say one is more addictive than the other. They're both extremely addictive but in their own way. A full-blown heroin addiction is in fact easier to get out of than a corresponding alcohol addiction due to how long it takes for GABA-receptors to normalize. With heroin it's like a really bad flu for a week or two, with alcohol it's depression and feeling utter shit for months or in some cases years.

Maybe it's the whole hangover thing I hate, the worst I ever get with opiates is a headache the next day....but then I can just take more opiates or weed and it gets better, alcohol, that whole hair of the dog business is disgusting, alcohol's the last thing I'd want during a hangover. Basically an opiate high seems to be much more favorable to a wtf I'm drunk. IMO Alcohol addiction just seems to be more prevailant because everyone sees alcohol as alright because it's legal, whereas even most drug users swear against heroin, both of which are ill-fated ideals with no factual backing what so ever. no don't get me wrong, yea heroin can be a crazy bitch if you don't control yourself I'd imagine, but not really any harder than alcohol.

After a while both will just be maintenance, not to get high or drunk. Though I agree opiates are much more inviting at first. And a wise man once said; The secret to not getting hangovers is don't stop drinking. That's pretty much alcoholism in a nutshell lol

I don't know if it's true, but I've heard that alcohol is actually the only known drug where cold withdrawal can literally kill you. Give me as many boxes as you like for my above post, but thinking that alcohol as a drug isn't up there with the worst of them just because it's legal is a gross misconception. Granted, though, the effect of "getting away from it all" is much stronger on heroin than on alcohol, so its addictive potential is probably higher...and the addiction develops faster than with alcohol. On the other hand, reasonably clean heroin (or any other kind of opioid) does much, much less immediate damage to your body than alcohol. Opioides act directly on the brain's opioid receptors, whereas alcohol has a very wide spectrum of effects and a much more complicated metabolic process associated with it. In other words, it doesn't just fuck up your brain cells (as you know), it's hard on the liver, too (as you probably know, too). Opioids don't kill brain cells, and they don't stress your liver (as you may not have known). (Of course they do affect your metabolism and thus will cause secondary damage, i.e. damage resulting e.g. from changes in your eating and sleeping habits etc). I'm not saying you shouldn't drink alcohol at all (I meant that sort of jokingly up there), and I'm not claiming never to drink alcohol myself - I'm just saying you should treat it as the powerful and highly toxic narcotic it really is. The side effects should make it obvious to anyone that alcohol isn't harmless at all.

You can also go into a coma or just commit suicide. I heard Methadone can kill you during withdrawal too. My sister and father were alcoholics so I prefer to stay away from it and I was a Benzo addict so I shouldn't be doing GABA agonists anyway.

Heroin is only very very addictive when IV'd, but only the junkies and high seekers ever IV, because everyone who knows anything about drugs knows once you Iv, you don't go back.
For when you want to get blackout drunk, piss on the floor, smash a window, and break the party hosters 51" TV. Or maybe thats just what happens to my friend
Alcohol makes me into the biggest most narcissistic dick on the planet earth, that being said i love it

alcohol is the best it's cheap as shit and makes everything better. my usual drink is chasing vodka with beer but sometimes i go for something else.

Acute withdrawal from heroin is a week or two, POST acute withdrawal can last up to 6 months. It's a feeling of depression, anxiety, like nothing is pleasurable, etc. I would know - I'm in the midst of it right now. An alcohol detox lasts about a week.
Yes to everything except your bit on addiction, you can become addicted to both in about the same time frame, say a month of drinking everyday, would get you just as addicted as snorting a line of heroin everyday. Heroin non-IV'ed is just as addictive, you just don't get the effects as immediately. Once smoking and snorting doesn't work anymore, addicts are left with the options of either stopping and withdrawing, or switching to the needle.
An alcohol detox lasts about a week.
Detoxifying does not mean you are done with withdrawal symptoms, though.
alcohol makes me a friendly motherfucker and I make tons of friends when I get drunk, even with people whom I used to hate :v:
