This prednisone takes the piss out of me, I have to nap at least once or twice a day, and I no longer have late evenings. Fortunately I'm going in to learn of my biopsy results today, so I might get to start lowering the dose and eventually stop taking them entirely! Hurray! :v:

Dimple pint glasses are the best. I have 3 or 4 in my cupboard because I always get trashed at the local and then walk home with them. I don't think they've noticed yet.

No homie It's clamato juice, not tomato. It's a slightly milder version of tomato juice with less viscosity and a small amount of clam juice. It's a Canadian thing. Clamato is popular here and is available in any off-sale/license. It can be mixed into beer or the Caesar posted earlier. Also, I wouldn't touch a Caesar in the morning; it's a summertime afternoon delight, a spicy tangy drink to have between beers. A bit of a niche drink, sure... but still popular enough that any bar in western Canada will have the ingredients at the ready. I'm really not doing it justice, you would have to try it to see if you like it. It's nothing like a Bloody Mary.

My room and all my clothes now smell of Stout and cigarettes. I spent the last night at a Trad gig in some bar downtown with friends, the deal was you had to sing a song or play a tune to get a free pint and fag (Majors btw, like smoking tar), failing that you could tell a story, but it had to be as Gaeilge.
Great fun, ended up drinking far too much, I did a fairly good rendition of "The South Armagh Sniper" Shame I can't remember it today :v:

Oh also eat a burger or something right before you start drinking because it makes feeling drunk a whole lot better. If you drink on an empty stomach its like getting a headache in my experience. Also, it means you wont end up buying a kebab at midnight drunk all the time

Decide on a limit before you start, one of the main symptoms of being drunk is not knowing when to stop drinking.

Have a piece of lemon next to you if you're shotting or something then just take a bite of it right after you swallow, helps taste and vomit reflexes. Don't use this to go past your limit though - believe me, drinking a lot of alcohol is fun, drinking too much alcohol is not.

about a week ago I was really depressed and I got fucked up hammered off a bunch of rum and when I woke up the next morning it turned out that night I had apparently decided to burn myself on the arm a couple times with a lighter pretty badly

I was stupid and only discovered all of that by trial and error so i'm happy I helped. Also get dissolvable aspirin for the morning after if you plan to have a wild one

the drinking age in america makes almost every teenager who drinks act like a shithead about it
i mean, people here who are 15-17 also often act as if alcohol was the best thing ever, but nowhere near as much as most americans ive met

IMO the whole point of drinking is to shake off nerves and social anxiety, what the fuck do you drink for? to feel good? haha there's better drugs for that with easier comedowns.

There's nothing wrong with having a couple of beers by yourself, it beats sitting there sober thats for sure. Bonus points if you are talking to people over skype because then you have an excuse
I plow through cases on my own. I go through liquor too, the local joke about me is that I'm the only one who walks to a party with two 26ers and walks out. I've always carried a 40-60 oz bottle of JD and some rum or vodka. So I mix freely and what not. I am almost always fine, until I mix weed. Which seems to happen often, so it's not always great. If I stick to my booze I am generally fine.
I remember going to a club for someone's birthday and I ordered well over a dozen shots.
I still don't know how to be all loose and fun like everyone else while drunk, I have some retarded constitution which controls me, else such strong anxieties that no amount of alcohol can even crack it...
