So this means that I was right when I said that an average atheist is smarter than an average Christian.
Yes, at least in the sense of IQ. But you were wrong when you said "he's too smart to be a Christian" Also since the difference is so small you can't in good consciousness say "atheists are smarter than the religious" because that makes it sound as if the difference is significant.
You ignored my post. Please re-read it as I felt I made a very good point. Additionally, it's well known that IQ is not an accurate measure of intelligence.

How do you respond to what BrickInHead said, then? He stated that the average IQ as posted in your charts was brought down heavily by the undereducated 3rd world countries, most of which are highly religious. This means that the two might be related, but not that one causes the other. If you can understand this, then how can you still support your argument?
IQ can't be brought down by the levels of education, your argument wasn't even worth mentioning as it's purely irrational.
FreedomFighter, you are not smart, stop posting.
freedomfighter you're stupid stop making dumb generalizations about religion those dumb skewed charts don't explain how they came to their conclusion and they don't say what their sample groups were come back when you have more evidence
welp looks like freedomfighter is dumb enough to admit he's trolling in the oify http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=971347 might as well permaban him now mods
IQ can't be brought down by the levels of education, your argument wasn't even worth mentioning as it's purely irrational.
That's not true. IQ can be brought down by a lot of things, including education and poverty. Eat dicks.
No, I won't. I'm yet to see a rational argument which is worth mentioning against these graphs.
correlation =/= causation you're not very good at statistics Just because I note that iPod sales are increasing while the overall amount of people with mullets is decreasing does not mean that iPod sales are killing mullets. You're saying that the IQ of a sample population, a variable which is arguably independent of religious choice, is causing people to be religious. The data correlates to this being true, however you haven't got any sort of evidence aside from this one graph: no documentation about the study, the choice of sample population, how % devotion to religion was determined, how the people were polled, etc. For all you know they took a smattering of people they picked up at a truck stop and asked them while drunk. I'm not one to take things like this up on blind faith alone, if you're going to quote the results of a study, fine, but at least tell me what study the results came from.
success
DARGONHAMMER I lol'd.
I think he's probably an atheist. I've mentioned this on FP before. There is absolutely nothing I can say to prove or disprove this, because I am not Obama and therefore I don't really know what I'm talking about. All I have to go on are his actions and what he says about himself, which up to this point, lead me to believe he is a closet atheist. The OP attempted to imply that his intelligence is such that he simply cannot be religious. As has been pointed out many times in this thread, this is completely illogical, and that being the case, I will not use it in my reasoning. In fact, I have no reasoning at all for what I believe. It's just an opinion I hold about a man I don't really know. As a side note, if I were to run for office, I'd definitely pretend to be a christian. Seems like it would really help with getting the voters on my side. And not being lynched out in the street by the crazy Americans.
there are 2.2 [hihglight]billion christians. it is the most followed religion on the planet. in second place is islam at 1.5 billion. making generalizations about either is extremely dumb.
About that many people have died by christians throughout history, so I just generalize them as murderers, really... [editline]03:47PM[/editline] Passive murderers (Sort of)
About that many people have died by christians throughout history, so I just generalize them as murderers, really... [editline]03:47PM[/editline] Passive murderers (Sort of)
By that logic, all American citizens are also murderers, due to the fact that our representative government regularly murders people. We elected them, their actions are ours and our actions are theirs, so obviously we're all murderers. In the same way that since christians nowadays share the same church with those involved in the crusades, they are also murderers. And child molesters, can't forget that. There's just no logic there, man. Generalizations always fail, including this generalization about generalizations.
