anyone know what Benning is like during the months of August-December?
I am getting the ass end of summer and a full frontal of winter, but surely it'll be nice in between? Also, how's Spring? I'll be there for Spring as well.
Well, since I'm in GA I'll tell you
Winter is not so bad, cold enough for a sweater. Though it has been cold lately
Spring is hot. Summer is hotter. Though the end of summer is pretty much what spring is like
lol, you're not serving your country
An imagery analyst? You'll probably be doing AIT here at Ft. Huachuca then. Might see you around.
Yeah, we sit around the barracks all day waiting for people to get kill streaks. It's very boring.
There's a kid in our company who's a furry. I was the unlucky guy to discover that fact, when I jokingly accused him of being sexually attracted to cartoon animals, and he replied with, "So?"
Apparently he's really into horse-people. Centaurs and shit, I guess. I don't talk to him much. He doesn't shower, he speaks like he's not familiar with English (not an accent or anything, he just uses short, fractured sentences and forces a throaty lisp); and his hair is always clumped and ruffled like he tried to groom himself with a handful of gorilla glue. I guess what I'm getting at is that you really, really, really shouldn't be like this kid- and if anybody ever accuses you of being a furry, jokingly or otherwise, deny that shit. It just isn't acceptable in the military. Or anywhere else really, but especially not in the military.
:gonk: Run before he hurts you!
IF YOU PROTECT AMERICA YOU'RE A FUCKING HERO

Be more ignorant.
It's kinda for people who can't add and subtract to be exact.
Except not because most soldiers have to be able to do a lot of things that require complex math.
Ignorant hippie pig.

Answer the question: How is he serving his country?

like shooting little brown people
Cool, I've been in the Australian army for almost a year now. Basic training isn't as hard as you make it out to be. It's designed to get as many soldiers trained as possible, not to make you fail.
Good luck, my service (not in the US Army mind you) starts in a bit over a month too.
Good luck.
Fuck the Army.
Why would any rational person join a group of murderers?
Have fun fucking up a country you don't belong in.

He's serving the rich politicians that want to fuck over everyone else.
good job on risking your life for an undeserving country.
by the way violence is not the answer, it is the question, and the answer is yes.
Okay guys, I am going to serve the Canadian military tomorrow bye.

None of you have A: answered my question or B: provided a fucking point.
Personally, I see no reason to go into our war only because of this simple opinion of mine.
The war we're fighting right now is a snafu! Its all because of some dumb ass with the initials GWB.
That's just my opinion, but I'm glad somebody is doing something with their life instead of posting on Facepunch.
Wait.......
Edit:
I just realized thats really harsh to say!
I meant to say I'm glad your serving our country but I see no reason as to why.
Cannon Fodder. While I admire your decision to serve, I hope you understand that we're fighting a war not for "our freedom" but for personal interests of those in command.

This pretty much sums up what I feel of US foreign policy.
Good job politicizing the guy's thread. This is not about anyone's views, it's about him.
Best of luck, get home safe. And, if you possibly can, have fun.
Seems a lot of us are going on camp in the coming month, good luck to you all even if we aren't in the same country!
come on, it's more than just "serving your country"
free college
free food
free housing
decent pay
experience
respect in the job market
job security
it's the smart thing to do
the military is very safe; a large percentage of the jobs aren't even combat related - this misconception that you join the army and "risk your life" is utterly ridiculous. unless you sign up 11x or possibly one of the 68w jobs you ain't going to be in too much trouble.
None of you have A: answered my question or B: provided a fucking point.
I wasn't actually replying to you, rather his stupid reply.

And I as a taxpayer get to pay for all this "free" stuff.
Thanks for thinking of my freedom. Assholes.
And by joining the army, as I've said before you're not protecting anyone's freedom. You're taking any shred of freedom the people of Iraq/Afghanistan would have had.
If they wanted a democracy, they'd have one by now. But they don't. Gee maybe they don't want one?
Cannon Fodder. While I admire your decision to serve, I hope you understand that we're fighting a war not for "our freedom" but for personal interests of those in command.

why would you join the army, that's the worst branch
The Marines is where it's at. The Army is for all the fuck-ups and rejects that don't fit in to our society.
Nice bump bro.
remember that everyone one is expendable except you <3
Darnit, Wally, I thought the OP was back giving us an update on his progress. Basic training feels like so long ago to me, I want to hear about it from someone new- so we can swap stories about how retardedly cruel our drill sergeants are/were. It was about three weeks in that we got to go to the PX on a one-hour pass and I hopped on the computers. Hoping for the same from OP.

Agree, my dad was in for 26 years and says this.
