SCP Foundation - None of the signs lead where they should. None of the walls point where they should
How does stuff like that even still get through? Isn't there an approval process? Or at least a cursory readthrough to make sure a submitted SCP isn't garbage?
There's a thing called the "gauntlet" if I recall. If after the first 24 hours the SCP doesn't get +10 points it gets considered for deletion, something like that.
If you check this out - http://www.scp-wiki.net/most-recently-created - you'll probably see quite a few SCPs being made but they mostly go into the negatives. People post CC on these so that future submitted ones could be made better, but there's also a forum and IRC people can post their sandboxes on. (Sandbox being a website where one could write their SCPs out and show others without actually uploading)
I've messed about in sandbox before and I've had ideas for skips, but I haven't been brave enough to go through with any. (I've had an account since 2011)
Most of the skips in the newly created section fail. I don't really pay mind to them. Occasionally I see one that goes past negative hundred. Surprised this is the one that makes you break lurking
I haven't read one that was literally just a fucking linkin park x sonic OC up until now. Generally the shit articles get deleted super fast. This one, it still exists. Why.

WELLP. Guess all I can do now is maybe consider actually contributing to the SCP wiki.
Hey, it says you can rewrite it. Weirdly enough, I'm inspired by the challenge of taking something terrible and making it work. Okay, get this: what if he were a cheesy, try hard OC in-universe? Only, don't play it for laughs or as a parody, rather have it become aware of it's "edginess" to some degree. While struggling in earnest to maintain the personality with which it was created, it begins to struggle with, not the fact that it's lame or cliche, but that it does not live up to the purpose of it's existence. It's a cartoon villain in a world filled with true, unimaginable evil.
Make it unable to die but because it is so edgy and self-aware it suffers permanent suicidal depression and frequently tries to commit suicide. Then classify it as safe and call it a day because this super OC crap SCP is forever stuck in the paradox of trying to die but being unable to do so, which makes it more depressed, which causes it to try to commit suicide, but it fails and becomes more depressed, etc..
All I'd like out of this is maybe another Duke 'Til Dawn.
You guys seen this guys videos? They're pretty great.

Recommend watching more of them.

Isn't that part of the plot of Groundhog Day?

I recall TheVolgun did the 682 interview and they actually linked it in the SCP file itself, but I feel like the modulators he used for 682 are too, well, bad.

I agree actually, his 682 is a bit heavy on the modulation

I find this hard to listen to just because that isn't how I imagined Dr. Clef to sound like at all.
I always imagined the researchers as half life one scientists, it fits in almost every situation they're in.
STAAAP
[editline]24th July 2015[/editline]
I'm afraid we'll be deviating a bit from standard seminar procedures today, Gordon. Look at the doors.
They're waiting for you, Clef. In the interrogation chamberrr.
Most new SCPs get deleted. Most within 24 hours, which is our grace period for new posts. Our deletions thread http://www.scp-wiki.net/forum/t-1280929/deletions-30:nanananananananana can attest to that.
Today I decided to mirror the entire scp wiki to my phone for offline reading because reasons.
[editline]24th July 2015[/editline]
haha I accidentally mirrored the entire publicly accessible forum too. woops. I sure hope they don't notice...

Some sort of explanation as to why a member of staff was trolling the site, and why that's apparently okay, would be appreciated.

Is that seriously it? Like, were you on chat with him or something? I'd seriously like an explanation for this.

What contest, sorry?

"Short Works", you have to write an SCP that's less than 500 words.
Obviously that one has 500 to spare.
At first I just thought the pictographic nature of it was a "look ma no words" gimmick, albeit a well-done one. Took me a second read-through to realize the necessity of having the containment procedures done entirely in pictures was that the SCP doesn't understand pictures but does understand text and speech.

I see, sounds interesting.

EDIT: This one too. I especially like [sp]The 2nd addendum that implies that whatever SCP-2196-B is, it is now moving towards us....[/sp]

I love how I completely understood how that SCP works without a single word written anywhere.
I love how I completely understood how that SCP works without a single word written anywhere.
I sorta got it, but not really.
I sorta got it, but not really.
It seems to be like this:
It reacts to written and said information about itself, but not to pictures. It takes away all texts that have information about it and all people that say things about it.
Are there any SCPs that really exemplify the 'Protect' part? As in, not protection for us, but protection for it.
Also I just realised that people on the website call SCPs Skips, I mean really.

I might end up writing one, my app was accepted so.

Only thing I could think of is this:
http://www.scp-wiki.net/scp-134
I got bored and decided to run the SCP Foundation through Gizoogle to simulate what happens when SCP-420-J gets loose.
...And then, word will filta down from tha O5s, all up in tha nuff levelz of our bureaucracy fo' realz. And dem playas whoz ass is unethical is ghon be given reprimandz which is ghon be noted on they permanent record. Or they is ghon be blasted fo' crimes against humanity.
This is yo' third lesson. I aint talkin' bout chicken n' gravy biatch. Remember dat shit.
Da 'P' standz fo' 'Protect'. Da Foundation protects humanitizzle from SCPs, n' we protect tha Foundation from itself. Us playas judge what tha fuck be n' aint aaight fo' tha Foundation ta do. We balizzle evils so dat on tha whole, n' up in tha long run, evil is minimized.
Fuck dat shit, you aint gots a cold-ass lil chizzle bout bein on tha Committee.
