Also, you being new here and all, we don't like it when people use :D, -_-, -.-, :-3 etc.

I agree with you entirely, but you didn't have to write that much about it to get a +1 agree from me.
You're like the Hitler of the English language, trying to isolate it, keeping the impurities of other influences out of our language. What's wrong with having loan words? If I know what rendezvous means, as well as the majority of the English-speaking population, I see no problem using it even though it's technically French. English is pretty much based off of other languages, anyway, and if we took that away, we'd have no language at all. That's the beauty of English. We have a colorful, diversified vocabulary.
Personally I don't dislike English loan words because they're often from Latin and I study it. Frankly it fascinates me to see and understand the similarities. But I think that it's a sign of a bad language if you want to loan everything from others while you could very well use your own language. And disrespect.
Preface Alphabet The Ancient Greeks did it so, and it was so easy to learn that their literacy boomed. The Romans derived their alphabet from the Etruscans, who had copied theirs from the Greeks. The modifications done were mainly to ensure a one-to-one correspondence between phonemes and letters.
lolwhat? They got their alphebet from the Latins not the Etruscans.
If it sucks then why did you post a thread in English? Should of posted in Japanese if it's so bad.
American is better.
I think that it's a sign of a bad language if you want to loan everything from others while you could very well use your own language. And disrespect.
Dude. That is how language changes and evolves over time. It's like saying bats are disrespecting birds because they have wings.
It's just a very popular language. your ranting on this does not differ that fact.
Dude. That is how language changes and evolves over time. It's like saying bats are disrespecting birds because they have wings.
It's how English evolves over time, and a comparable effect is visible in other languages as they borrow from the English language. But it's not the only way and I don't think it's the best one. I'm sure you understand that I appreciate having different cultures.
Is English the only language where you can totally decimate a word (like, misspell it massively) and people can still understand what you said?
no it applies to many languages
Nothing is as sexy as the british accent. Coming from a dane.
Nothing is as sexy as the british accent. Coming from a dane.
Anything is more sexy that a northern British accent. Coming from a Brit.

I do think people need to learn English before setting foot on the internet. That way I don't have to read. stfu u nub. i am 2 teh more bestest ten u!
English is the best language, sorry, try again
Not really, it has way too many little exceptions in the grammar, that you have to remember.
Debating on whether or not English is a "bad" language seems very silly to me.
We still like it though. We also like the fact the analysis was written in English.
With perfect grammar.
The English language is badass because it can integrate other languages into itself easily.
Phonetically speaking, English sounds really good, unlike Spanish, for instance (like singing, and stuff). So that's a plus IMHO. But, the Spanish language is richer in content than the English one... for instance, we have 1 word for each thing, instead you guys always use 1 word and it could have different meanings, depending on the context. Of course we have that too, but we don't use it as much as you anglosaxon dudes do.
The English language is badass because it can integrate other languages into itself easily.
A fat pig can integrate a smaller pig into itself with little difficulty. The latter dies in the process.
X isn't needed. Xylophone can be spelt with a Z. Xenophobic can be spelt with a Z.
Yeah, it's just cks, it doesn't need to ecksist.
You know, it's not our fault our Ancestors merged different languages to form the English language that we know and speak today.
So languages can now 'suck' Wow facepunch has reached a whole new level of stupidity.
English is simple to learn, i mean, I'm just 16 (Norwegian) and i speak it perfectly. Also, everyone else speaks it. [editline]11:08PM[/editline]
So languages can now 'suck'
Yes. Norwegian sucks.
