I tried some free samples from vengeance, didn't like them too much because the'yre already compressed and mastered, found it hard to make them fit into my tracks,
But they sound so good :( Yeah I am kind of over reliant on them. But there aren't really too many good one shot sample packs ?
Even though you're saying you'd prefer the real thing, I'd really recommend Guitar Rig. Very realistic sounding, and so versatile. Instead of having the one amp in real life, you can have all these different digitally modelled ones. Handy for trying different styles and tones. Makes stuff way easier for recording into your pc for songs too. Unless you're aiming to use this to play live, which changes things. What kind of effects were you looking for from said FX unit? [editline]28th July 2011[/editline] What a boring page king.
I would never record my playing, and I have o interest in playing live, let alone even with other people I was looking for more brutal distortion tones, some delay, phasers, the whole thing really [editline]29th July 2011[/editline]
You can still use your amp. The program will be your effects box. And yes, it will do effects just as good as real stompboxes. If not better
I'll get that then What kind of audio interface should I buy, and would I have to order it online or could I just go down to an electronics store and buy one? What is the difference between a high quality one and a cheaper one? No noticeable difference?
I recently had the idea to just throw an M-Audio Fasttrack onto my laptop and install amplitube and mic that through the PA for a show it worked out pretty well, I didn't have to carry near as much shit and got a few compliments on my tone [editline]28th July 2011[/editline] http://guitar.about.com/od/tabchordslyrics/ss/read_guitar_tab.htm http://www.wikihow.com/Play-Acoustic-Guitar-Tab [editline]28th July 2011[/editline] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMb2kWTL1zE expertvillage, but he gives a decent overview of what tabs are and how to read them If he taught you how to read sheet music, that's probably better. If he didn't you should probably get a refund
Thank you good sir. :) Now i learned how to play the white stripes- seven natiom army :)

You can probably get one that should do fine for years in the 150$ zone. For just recording, i've personally been looking at the mackie blackjack. Two inputs and two outputs plus headphone output should easily suffice for just recording guitar, even though i'm no expert on the subject. I'm not 100 % sure on what you want to do with it though. You just want to play at home? Then it's simple, you plug the output of the guitar into the input of the interface, then you run it through your software, for example a VST host(there are plenty of free ones) hosting guitar rig. After that you just plug the output from the interface through to the amp. Voila, you got yourself an awesome rig. This also works if you want to play live, but then you'll want to get a usb pedal to trigger distortion and such on and off in guitar rig. And a laptop ofc. For recording, no problem. The blackjack, at least, has a zero latency monitoring mode, so you just plug your guitar in, record with a clean tone, and then add effects with Guitar Rig. I've never done this myself, but as far as I know, this should work in theory at least
I'd by a audio interface, that cost less that 50 bucks I think
I'd by a audio interface, that cost less that 50 bucks I think
Huh? I don't understand your post, but if you were prepared to spend 300 on a multieffects box, spending a bit more on an audio interface might be a good idea.
Let's just say I don't plan on buying it
Let's just say I don't plan on buying it
Why though? Stealing is illegal lol
