guess so, that a good thing?
If I wanted a recording program I'd 'acquire' that too
Lol Audacity IS free.
The audio interface looks good, even has an XLR mic input. Nothing mega fancy but it should work for what you want it for.
like I said there is a $15 one on the way and if that works fine, eg no delay we won't bother
I'm recording a song as a project atm.
I've recorded and re-recorded the bass for almost 2 hours, because I suck so badly at playing it.
I can't be the only one that downloads demos of random stuff just to see what it does and to experiment. It is annoying when the demo runs out, but still. I really dislike the plugins that don't have demos because I don't have an option to experiment. They probably do that because of piracy, and also a lot of these instrument packs are huge.
I find myself using freeware on most of my songs. I do have plugins that I bought and I will use those of course, but a big disadvantage to this is that I start basing the plugins on the price I paid as opposed to the actual sonic quality. For example, the blockfish compressor is very good and free, but I'm more likely to choose something I paid for just because it's supposedly professional. I guess it may be a factor in not knowing my plugins well enough because professional mixers typically have a good idea of what compressor would work best on a track. I usually just guess and see if I can get the sound I want, if not I move onto another one.

I think a freeware plugin thread would be a good idea. A lot of times I come across plugins I wish I saw a while ago.
A general VST plugin thread would be a good idea. I'm gonna go ahead and write one I think
We could maybe get a good sized list of recommendations. I've seen other lists, but because there are so many plugins on it, it becomes difficult to figure out what is good. They also happen to just have a link with no description other than the type of plugin it is. Maybe if whoever is recommending a plugin can give a blurb about it and how they use it. Certain plugins are far better for certain things than others, so it would be helpful to say what you find it works well for.
I've tried Google, but I can't seem to find any good resources.
Where might I find Roland TR series drum pack for FL Studio?
Two good shows I'd recommend are
http://www.youtube.com/user/GuitarShowcase
and
http://www.youtube.com/show/pensadosplace?s=1
The first one I just got into and it doesn't have many views, but it seems to talk about a bunch of random stuff in music and is pretty informative. They also get some pretty well qualified guests.
Pensado's Place is hosted an award winning mixer Dave Pensado, and he gives some techniques and has really good people for guests for interviews. Most of these people have done big albums, such as Michael Brauer. The show is rather informative, though you're going to have to tolerate Dave not being a great host, though he's gotten better.
improvising like a boss using the harmonic minor
i can learn elementary scales too!
it's still fun to play and sounds great
who cares how simple it is if you can connect heaps of other scales and root 5 stuff to it and seamlessly improvise inbetween them and use chords and stuff
so fuck you
[editline]12th August 2011[/editline]
plus any quarter decent guitarist can use the pentatonic scales and become a millionaire, just one scale
it's how you play it

I bet theres a story behind it. Like his guitar was lost in baggage and so they had to go pick up a temp guitar just for the video or something. Idk, I just know that last I checked First Act is worthless.
