I bet theres a story behind it. Like his guitar was lost in baggage and so they had to go pick up a temp guitar just for the video or something. Idk, I just know that last I checked First Act is worthless.
no, he actually commissioned those guys to build him a guitar
I hate it when I spend a while on a song and I think I've maybe maybe what I just worked on too long, and then I realize it's only a minute long and I wonder how I'm going to extend it.
Just found out a kid I went to High School with played a show with Flux Pavillion and Doctor P. Hes Pretty Good

Damnit, every time. I have umpteen songs that are just intros.
whenever I think of a good riff, I immediately begin to write riffs around it so I have a full song based around that primary concept. it's the only way I can do it. if I don't I might as well just forget it
same way with lyrics
Hi everyone! So, I want to record myself talking/singing and I was looking around for something better then my ordinary intergrated soundcard. I found this external M-Audio Fast Track: http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/FastTrack.html
I checked around a bit more but this seems to be one of the better external without going too high on price. There seems to be alot of praise for this one and I guess this would be my holy "grail" so to say. What do you guys think?

I cant hear that bass at all. It is one thing to ahve a subby bass and another to have something in the 20 hz spectrum lol.
You should make something more highfrequency too so normal speakers can pick it up
Managed to use ableton live as a loopstation! :) Its really fun to play with it, launching and recording tracks with midikeyboard.
Im really at the point of shooting myself. I cant come up with good beats anymore :,(
I need inspiration badly
my audio interface was $5, shipping cost more than the actual product
hope it works lol, and that my laptop can handle guitar rig

I hope it doesnt have any latency. Guitar rig is actually pretty heavy software.
I figured
I'll know once I get it

listen to stuff like Flying Lotus, Hudson Mohawke, Zomby, Rusty, Mount Kimbie. All good sources of inspiration. Depends what music you're into though. It might help to take a break from making beats too, give you time to form ideas and stuff.
My apologies for not being able to comment and give CC on everyones music these last past weeks, I've been terribly busy with stuff and I just haven't found the time to properly help everyone.
Hehe gonna try that then post results.

tomorrow
I can't do it, the song is too high pitched for me which is why the singing sounds kinda wierd but I'll figure something out.

I feel ya. Whenever that happens to me I just take a break from making music and just listen to some of my favorite stuff.

Drums are somewhat mixed and everything else is sorted out.
All set for guitar tracking tomorrow with the band!

thoughts?
I can't figure out what I don't like about this. It is rather simple, which is fine. I think its the lack of change through out. And the vocals seem ... bland/uninteresting. They seem decently done. I think it might be the lyrics aren't interesting. Its the same ones over and over. Also the beat comes in rather loud and stays the same for that whole minute. You might try bringing in a subtle beat at first... a much more gentle feel. Then bring in some new lyrics, sung at different notes, and a stronger beat farther into the song... say around that 34 second mark.
Last night, for what ever reason, my sound card turned into a bit crusher. I should try to get it to do it again and record stuff.
Oh I ahte when my soundcard glitches and makes some fucking sick sounds and I wanna record it but I have nothing to record it with.
Also once my friends soundcard fucked up seriously and it started pitching his voice(on skype) reeeeaaally high and then really low. Sounded like he was talking dubstep.
When I woke up I just had this feeling that I have to try a new DAW so now I'm downloading ableton live trial. It looks awesome!

Does anyone know any good tutorials for making really dirty pathces for massive, z3ta+ etc? Something with lots of harmonics and good for neurofunk.

I think google does

Literally all you find on Google or Youtube are crappy tutorials or even "professional" tutorials that don't even sound remotely relevant to the sound that it claims to be recreating.
