Meh, I need some new synths. I've been using Absynth 4 and Logic synths for a while now, but I need something new. Preferably free..
Just started work on a little acoustic track, its a rough sketch at the minute but I will upload the finished track tomorrow.

One of the most popular bands (and most expensive, cost 400,000 ISK or 2,188 pounds or 3459 dollars) played at the pub tonight, and I was working. Me and the guitarist were nerding out over orange amplifiers (he just bought an Orange Rockerverb MK II 50 watt 2x12 combo).
The most important thing was though that a lot of people were telling them that I was a GREAT guitarist. I was flattered, but I thought that was a bit too much, I played a little bit for the guitarist and bassist and such (so nice of them to let me try their gear).
In short, they said that they'll see me most likely soon again. They said I had a future in music and they hope the absolute best for me. The singer said he doesn't know what it is, but he sees something in me that he thinks is a good thing for music.
I'm not the type to brag, but it was really REALLY flattering. Should I just accept the compliment or stay modest because honestly I think they were being a bit too nice. I always receive compliments, but from one of the biggest bands in Iceland... That's a really big compliment and I'm not sure how to take it. Just thought I'd share it with you guys!
That's awesome!

Next you will be playing for Björk! :v:
Testing out new bassist for the blues-band at the moment. We've gone through 3 all in all, since theres always something that comes up, but this one seems like one of the better.
Good bassists are hard to find..
I would never play with that she demon

Placing notes randomly is an amazing composing technique.
(not really)

Synth 1, SQ8L, Wasp. I love those!

Their name is Greifarnir, I don't think they're really world wide popular, but they were like huge in Iceland during the 80s
I wouldn't expect you to know them though since it's like one of those bands that gets really big in their home country to the point where they can live off of gigs, but they never really played in other countries
I need tips on how to handle forming a band.
get band members
buy equipment (or steal it)
plug in your instruments (besides the drums!)
make notes

What would happen in a "Musicians On-topic Discussion Thread"?

All the other threads.
This is the thread for random discussion and things that don't deserve new threads.
Does anyone know any good granulizer vst-plugins? The Fruity granulizer is pretty cool, but I want to try others out too :v:

I meant a literal thread, but I shall accept your point.
I would really appreciate it if you took the time to listen to my new song:

RSE is pretty bad, it sounds pretty decent composition-wise though. =)
You should make a thread where you share your projects, I guess you're doing them in GP?

Yeah, I do them in GP.
What kind of sharing do you mean? File sharing, song sharing or..?

What are the legalities of sampling? Does anyone have anything to read about it? (i.e is it legal, do you need permission, are there certain rules etc).
I think it's something to do with how long it is. Not sure, but I think it was 33 seconds or something similar.

All sampling is illegal.
If you replay a short part of a song, instead of sampling, it is sorta legal.
If you alter or cut up the sample enough you can try to make it unnoticeable.
But essentially, yeah, sampling something is illegal, and you can get sued

You can ofc ask for permissions but you will probably have to pay royalties

File sharing, you share your GP files and the talented musicians around here record it with real instruments. =)

I'd love that, but trust me, that thread would die with only like 1 post in it.
You won't know until you've tried. =)
