fuck pachebel, my favorite version of "canon" is steve murray's off of "dreams and images" that shit could relax me any day of the week. to think it was recorded with just a little yamaha keyboard is nuts
My mixerboard is acting up. Yesterday I was jamming with my friends, we had troubles though, the mixerboard only sent out sound to the LEFT of the stereo output, and when we put it in the left mono it sounds only in the left and when we put it in the right mono it doesn't sound at all. We tried everything but all of the settings were as it always had been, then for some reason it started working to both left and right suddenly and we could jam on for the rest of the night. Now in the morning it's still only working on the left though.
i made this song over 2 years ago, but i want to redo it and make it better any suggestions?

I've had a lot of fun with bass recently but now I'm looking at creating more interesting drums. I realise it's a ridiculously hard thing to explain, but I could with some pointers in where I should start to try and acheive drums like from 1.06 here. And yes, more noisia <3

[thumb]http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Z3DsNecTbmg/ThYAa0yolYI/AAAAAAAAAuo/doG7JVxGE1c/s1600/metrilaku.JPG[/thumb] I bought some of those (except they're completely black) and put them right next to my microphone and it's cord. I swear I've almost bitten my XLR cable thrice now goddamnit.
I've been taking bassist lessons, and I'm a lot better! :D It's also way more fun playing with people now, since I know what I'm doing.
I decided to remix Skrillex thoughts? the main lead is mostly a placeholder because i'm struggling to make the sound i really want. some of the glitches in the intro aren't final either. oh and that bit at the end is just a placeholder.

Playing about with some cool sampling, very basic idea but what d'ya think of something like this?

Hey guys, I just made a goddamn video game song medley in like 5 hours because of pure boredom. Can you recognize them all?

Then of course, Contra, Castlevania, Megaman 2, something from Final Fantasy? Oh, and Metal Gear Solid.

Also, you forgot Battle Of Lil' Slugger from Super Meat Boy, right after Hell March and before Contra.
Here is a youtube version with all the names:
Here's a weird question regarding copyright law: I'm thinking of arranging some popular music for concert band. Can I legally do this without the record company's permission? What about performance, or publishing?
Anyone know the dubstep-like song that has guitar riffs at the start that go kinda like (if you can understand) DA NA NANA, DA NA NANA, DA NANA. And repeats then gets into the song?

http://www.mpa.org/copyright_resource_center/faq#q6 But because it's for educational purposes, I can probably get fair use on my side (it's for a final project for my minor in music composition).
I don't think anybody would care really. [editline]7th November 2011[/editline] Anyhow, today I managed to learn a song by ear. First time for me, I am very proud, even though it's not that big of a deal :D
What song?
Eddie Meduza - Reaktorn Läck i Barsebäck, which is an instrumental song. I also learned to play the verses (and the chorus, since it's the same) of Graveyard - Uncomfortably Numb. But I am having problems with the bridge.
I'm currently more of a FL Studio guy, but apparently Ableton Live is the bee's knees these days. What so awesome about it compared to FL, and which version should I aim for? I'm a moderate musician, don't own much hardware except my dad's Roland Fantom X8
we did a gig this weekend, here's a vid (not recorded by us, so the quality sucks). we had a monkey as a mascot for when we played thrashing beast of metal. he jumped and moshed with the crowd! 1:15 on the vid if you wanna get a better look at him!
you got a tight group going on your clothes are too clean for thrash though
