I would like it if you guys (or either of you) would give me some feedback. If not, then you could just tell me your favorite songs or parts.
i'd love to but its not really my kinda genre to interpret, any criticisms i have are from a purely dnb production point of view and would be likely useless
But any kind of feedback is fun to read in my opinion. Creates this odd, warm feeling inside me.
i'd love to but its not really my kinda genre to interpret, any criticisms i have are from a purely dnb production point of view and would be likely useless
You can just admit you don't want to listen to his songs or that you don't like them, no need to give excuses to why you don't want to criticize him. =) Hakita, I would love to criticize your album, if you could direct me to it.

I don't suppose anyone has ever made anything kinda like the BBC news theme have they? I've been using that for a sort of competition at work which plays alongside a countdown but I want something different because I've been using that for a while now and I need something new, if anyone has anything then could I possibly have a copy please. If it would help to see what it's being played alongside then I can grab a video of the countdown and post it.
Can anyone suggest where to get some nice orchestra samples?
Can anyone suggest where to get some nice orchestra samples?
If you want something for free, a bit of searching turned up http://www.philharmonia.co.uk/thesoundexchange/make_music/samples/library/ It looks like a bit of work to get all the required samples collected, but it should sound just fine. If you're up for paying, Garritan is pretty great. You can find their website here: http://www.garritan.com/ They sell their Personal Orchestra for $149.95 and with a bit of tweaking you can get some really nice sounds out of it. The next step up is EastWest. You can find it's official website here: http://www.soundsonline.com/ You can get EastWest's Symphonic Orchestra Gold library for $445.50 and the Platinum library for $805.50. If you're okay with a few missing articulations and instruments, you can get the Silver version for $175.50. If you want something even more high quality, EastWest has their Hollywood series which currently includes Hollywood Strings and Hollywood Brass. The first starts at $595.00 and the second at $495.00. They'll be releasing Hollywood Woodwinds and Hollywood Percussion over the next two years. The absolute best orchestral library is Vienna. The full version of it goes for $13,000, but you can buy individual instruments for a few hundred dollars a piece. Their site is here: http://vsl.co.at/
Should I either get a new video card to crossfire with my current one so I'll be able to run Skyrim on full, OR an original Kaossilator (the yellow one) for fun?
any good composition programs out there?
any good composition programs out there?
Notation wise? Finale and Sibelius are the two biggest ones - Sibelius is usually regarded as easier to use, but Finale's more powerful.
Your new videocard won't be new in November. Kaossilator. :smug:

That was really helpful, I'll check out the free samples and I'm going to look into getting Garritan too.
What is a good audio interface for recording stuff on my computer, basically something I can plug an instrument (say keyboard/guitar) and microphone into and get a good quality recording? This is coming from a bit of a noob to recording.
writing lyrics is hard :saddowns:
Helsinki =/= Australia you always get those two mixed up.
But I don't live in Helsinki, so that means that I'm so underground that I touch the edge of the universe, teleporting me to the other edge and then I am in Helsinki. Fuck I'm underground.

Don't trust you? :v: [editline]18th June 2011[/editline] Besides, look at my flag. =)
You rated disagree? Anyways, took a sip of it now. Doesn't taste that bad compared to some of the shit we have here in Norway. The cheap stuff tastes like window cleaner..
Finnish vodka is best vodka
Anyone in particular, that you recommend?
Nope, not really.
