The difference between me and Micheal Phelps is that I smoke harder :smug:
I can, dude. I can fuckin swim.
People drown either because they hit their head on something and black out or because they panic, not because they can't swim. If you keep your shit together you'll be fine.
Or they get stuck.

Though I forgot how funny Golden Boy was, I need to rewatch it now
Don't forget to bring a towel, amirite :smug:
Nice name
imagine you're a frog.
Just imagine it's a big ass pool of sub zero water, and you're one with the water.
Your eyes have turned black and you can never look back
You'll always keep swimming and you'll always be tracked
FOR I AM THE WATER GOD :black101:
Once you learn to swim it becomes really easy. Although you may not end up being a fast swimmer, hopefully it will end up being as easy as walking.
I can see perfectly underwater.
I can see perfectly underwater.
Try in some really salty water.. God damn it it hurts.
I do this weird wave move that makes me go really fast and doesn't get me tired or overwaste air. But i can't do all those kinds of swimming you see in books and stuff.
I use to swim for my highschool, and there really is a difference in swimming for fun and swimming proper.
Either way, swimming is extremely fun and you won't regret learning how to.
your soo cool
Yeah! Let's hope we can be like him someday!
I can float on my back :3 and swim the basic styles.
I'm a pro swimmer. I can teach people how to swim. Can't give any direct tips to OP though, as you really need to be one on one when you have a kid who only just spazzes in the water.
Just go for it. You don't have to be a good swimmer to enjoy it. I'm not that good, but so long as you can keep yourself afloat, you'll be fine.
Main thing. Don't panic. Even if you feel yourself going down, remember, the buoyancy will keep you afloat.
My dad made me learn how to swim by throwing me in a 2 meter deep pool when I was 7 years old. You start waving your arms like a retard, gulp some water and then you know how to swim. Easy as that.
Yea dude it was intense I couldn't touch the bottom and I swear I saw a shark
ps: op if you panic hold your breath you will float like an aircraft cushion
Even tho it may sound like a joke, this is actully true.
Swimming is about as hard as walking.
Humans are naturally buoyant.
Just backstroke.
Here's a free tip: If you hyperventilate for 3 breaths before holding your breath, it gets rid of all the excess Nitrogen that likes to chill out in your lungs, meaning you can hold more air. Don't do it for more than 3 breaths, however, this can cause you to black out before you feel the "out of air" sensation.
What? Nitrogen?
Alright this is the "right" way of doing what you're intending to say
Breath deeply and slowly for a long time, I mean like 30 seconds. This gets rid of all the Carbon Dioxide in your blood. After that you'll most likely be able to swim from one end of the pool to another without taking a breath. Very peaceful if you swim the whole way under water with breast stroke :buddy:
I find the easiest way to teach people how to swim is to first teach them how to float. It seems silly I know but bear with me.
I would get in the shallow end at about 3ft of water. Just stand by the wall and pick up your feet. Just relax and allow yourself to float on your back. You will stay above the water not to worry. You float, people don't sink despite what some might think. Once you relax you can try paddling about slowly and move around the pool. Once you get comfortable the rest comes easy.
Don't panic, remember to bring a towel, vogon poetry is terrible. Those three things really do cover everything.
I find swimming no harder than walking. It's easy once you get the hang of it.
I can't believe this thread exists. I reckon I started swimming before I started riding a bike.
I guess if there's no lakes or anything in like a 50km radius, you just don't learn it since you never understand the importance of it.
I never took lessons. I just got in the water and eventually learned.
Flail around to stay afloat.
It's not that hard. Really. Just spend some time hanging out in the water and you'll get the hang of it.
