Thanks, I'm proud myself too.
My next lesson is supposed to be on Monday, but my dad insists to send me to SAT prep school instead. Darn.
Question, when I do the egg beater, my right knee cracks when it's doing the arc in the circle/oval side to side, augh. Maybe I didn't stretch enough? Actually, no, I did stretch, and you can't really stretch your knee, well pull it back.. but then if I pull it back too far it'll crack too.
to be honest the egg beater kick is the shittest kick ever invented. someone suggested i try doing it for when i do spinal rescue stuff, it's just a pain in the ass.
when i tread water i just do breast stroke kick.
As long as you lay flat and don't flail around you'll float. So don't panic, float, and take it from there.
I know how to swim well. Second nature almost.
I want zeke back. :saddowns:
When I go where I can't stand in water, I panic, flail like crazy and breathe IN. Then I go down.

I've visited your website and your house doesn't look like it is in America.
Our school has a swimming pool.

Maybe the hot chick will save me. :smug: Then give me CPR.
CPR fails, end up in mourge.

Seriously, OP, get to a part of the pool where you cannot touch the bottom and learn how to tread water. Just get in and begin moving your arms and legs around, not in a paniced motion. Just plain kicking with your legs, and pushing down and around with your hands. Learn to tread, and the rest comes p. easy.
I haven't swam in 6-8 years :( I probably suck at it now.
Lived in Australia for four years of my life so my parents wouldn't let me in the sea if I didn't get lessons. Luckily my primary school provided swimming lessons every week. I like to think I'm pretty good at swimming now.
Before a week ago, I haven't swam in years. Still got it though. Its like riding a bike: you never forget.
Its fairly easy to swim, especially if your only goal is to stay above the water. Just flail your arms and legs in various ways, you'll eventually find one that keeps you above the water.

My cousin just taught me how to kick, breathe, then move hands. And now I can swim 10 feet. When I tread I crack my right knee when doing the egg beater. :ohdear:
God, I don't remember how I learnt to swim :ohdear:
wow you guys have it lucky... When I was 5 my brother just threw me in. Eh it worked I can swim now:smith:

My dad threw me in I think I could swim pretty well naturally though.
I cannot believe this thread is still here, swimming is so easy it's hilarious, it honestly is not that hard to grasp it
Flailing around and panicking when you can't feel ground under your feet? That is borderline moronic
Don't open your mouth underwater

Only borderline?
Nah, that is moronic.
Swimming is easy shit.
Swimming doesn't come natural to everyone..
The difference between me and Micheal Phelps is that I wasn't in the olympics.
if you have lots of air in your lungs you float better i think
You'll float better when you have no air in your lungs since your lungs will be full of space! :science:
Also, swimming is easy, just float on your belly and paddle with your arms and kick with your legs.

Why would a school have a swimming pool? No schools have their own swimming pools.
My school has a pool, and it isn't even a rich school.
I think you should observe how natural objects, and how they work in water. Perhaps observe and mimic an beaver or an insect, personally, I think you should mimic a rock

While this is true, there is absolutely NO reason to begin to flail when you don't feel ground under your feet, or panic, or anything like that. There is absolutely nothing hard about learning to swim, especially if you are a mentally competent teenager or adult.
I literally facepalmed when I read that post.
Honestly, all it is is movement in your arms in legs together. The most PROMINENT problem you should be having is not being able to move your arms and legs correctly in unison, not fucking flailing around like a retard

Yeah, I don't flail, now. But I haven't swam since I was little.
Don't be such a pussy, i drown when i was 2 and DIED. My grandma had to give me CPR and i learnt to swim 2 years later. So deal with it. Before you drown and die.
I'm fucking retarded and I've almost drowned around 15 times. I still do it.
just fucking do it
Are you guys not reading posts? I already went to a lesson, it wasn't so bad.
I had some traumatic experiences almost drowning as a child.
Despised water for a bunch of years.
I can swim, but not very far/good.

I'm an okay swimmer. I went in my High school pool during gym this year - Dove in, swam around the pool. I was surprised at how little people even knew how to tread water, I was like 1 of 3 people in the whole class. The teacher had me help teach the other students lol.
Fucking water. It conspires to drown me at every possible moment.
