In a zombie apocalypse you'd be wanting to find and preserve as much human life as you could, right? It's not like they'll have any trouble finding food in all these abandoned houses and shops and such, right? It's also good to have someone to watch your back and make sure nothing starts chewing on it :v:

That was pretty damn cool, I'll def. be reading more. I like the small deviations from the usual zombie fiction (that they're initially an occasional thing, not SUDDENLY ZOMBIES, and also that there is actually people around with cavalier attitudes instead of everyone being afraid to try to inspire empathy and make the reader afraid) Art's nice too, that's a big plus. Also tell me Detlef kills the dog while Stale's asleep. I would have probably thrown it at the first zombie as a distraction when it first turned up, fucking small yappy dogs are nothing but trouble even when there's nothing trying to eat you.
