I'm in. I feel like making something new for this one, all I've made lately is DNB
I want in. It will be better this time.
Here is a mock up. I'm not so great with this, but the idea is to have the facepunch logo on the composers head. If someone thinks they can do my idea better, do it.
two ideas 1. extend the time after all submissions have to be in and pick out the album art creator before time as well as a concept for what the album art will be. this'll give the person chosen time to make a full set of art, liner notes and back cover included 2. have people include notes or lyrics for their songs. if their song has lyrics, they have to submit the lyrics and can add liner notes if they want, and then people without them have to have some basic liner notes and such, no more than a paragraph of course.
I'm trying to push for cover ideas earlier than usual, so if we do decide on a cover or cover theme, we can make up a back cover that names can be added to easy. Liner notes probably wouldn't be too difficult either provided whoever was doing them was available. If we decide on it early, we can have the person pre-make them, and that would make it really easy to add everything. But if we do need to delay because of this, I'd do it because I like the idea liner notes and a back. As far as number two, I already ask for a description to be sent, though also requesting lyrics would be good as well, so that is added.
Seems a bit early, but alright I want in.
I may tray to submit a song to this, and take a stab at making album art again.
I submitted my track for you, Pepin.
Sign me up.
Sign me up! It's nice to see some album art ideas early on as it felt kinda rushed on the last album.
If there is anything in the OP that needs more clarity, especially the submission part, let me know.
Count me in Pepin! Could you include a new rule? I think it's only fair if everyone who has submitted a song writes a full review on the album. I mean, you're already listening (hopefully) to the whole album so you could just write down a few words on what you think about the songs, right? =) Plus, it feels good to have someone care enough about your music to comment it, so imagine having everyone involved giving their opinions, that's for instance 27 people commenting your work just on the last album.
May I submit a track that I plan to use for a personal album, or should I make a new track for this album?
May I submit a track that I plan to use for a personal album.
Yes you can.
Yes you can.
Alright. Here is an idea for the album art.
Yes you can.
I sent you the song info for my track in a PM. You can update the OP so it doesn't seem so angry anymore ;o

It wasn't intended to sound angry, but I guess I must by weary of the color red.
Could you include a new rule? In once sense it could act as a determent from people submitting. In another, even if this were a rule, there would be no way of ensuring people would comply with the rule or give good feedback. I will certainly be giving feedback for each song like I did with the last album.

Here is an idea for the album art.
I kinda like it but I'd want to see how you'd apply this to the rest of the art that would be based around this "theme" on the liner note and back cover "pages" first
Sent you my track on soundcloud, under name Son of Justice
Someone should do a 3D album cover.
I'm in! :D
Count me in! I have a couple of tracks I've recorded with my band that I can contribute if you want. Is there a time limit to tracks? Because I can submit a 5 minute song which I personally think is ok, a 12 minute song I quite like, or a 20 minute song suite which I'm really really proud of. I'm also down to do some vocals, guitars, bass or basic piano if someone wants. Here's an example of me both playing guitar and singing. My guitar part is the one coming out the right channel. I also play the first guitar solo (although it's kind of crap). And the lead vocals at the end are me.

Ok, new idea ; I'll contribute $1 for each and every (unique*) review on the album to unicef, starting with this album. So far there have been three reviews, I'll check back in two weeks to see how many reviews have been made and then I'll donate. And I will do the same on the next album, so you could put that up in the OP. =) [editline]6th September 2011[/editline] *As in, its only one review per forum user, and there obviously has to be at least some effort put into it and not just "I like this and don't like this oh nice album will read again a++"
I would like to be a part of this! I'm also up for doing some collaborative work with anybody :) Heres my soundcloud if anyone is interested.. http://soundcloud.com/blancmusic Edit: I've submitted a track now, but if anyone is interested in collaborations for a future FP collab I'm up for that :)
If you are going to submit a track, be sure to read all of the submission part of the OP. So far everyone has forgotten to send a track description, genre, artist page, and other requested information. Also, be sure that I somehow know who on facepunch sent the track. I just got three submissions, and I had no clue who sent any of them because their FP name wasn't anywhere to be found. I can make assumptions with some people, such as myself because my soundcloud name is the same as my fp name, but if your soundcloud name differs a lot, I'm not really able to guess. Also, make sure you allow downloading on the song you submit, otherwise I am not able to download it.
Is there a time limit to tracks?
There are no limitations on length. The biggest issue with longer songs is that they are a double edged sword, people will skip them quicker than a shorter song, so you have to really ensure the longer song gets your audience's attention early.

Alright, making a slight change. People have told me they included the track details in the message section on soundcloud, but I didn't get it, so instead on including it on soundcloud, just send me a PM on facepunch. If want to use an artist name different than your Facepunch username, just say so in some way. T.F.W.O for example sent me a link to his song which is under the name Anarchoholic. You could also submit your song under your FP name and in your PM just tell me what you want your artist name to be. Either works.

Also, I made a power metal song for this, but my mic isn't good enough to handle that style of vocals. Anyone else up to do some power metal vocals?!
Here's something I started a few days ago, I'm not sure if I should finish it for V6 or try something else.
If someone can recommend a good, safe, free, site that would allow large wav uploads for this purpose let me know. Preferably one with no wait and that you don't have to sign up for. I was going with the soundcloud dropbox thing because that was how it went in the last thread, but I think switching to a basic file upload service might work better. The max upload limit would need to be pretty high. I'm guessing 200mb.
You could have users upload here and PM you the link: http://www.sendspace.com/ That's how I send files to my label manager :eng101:
