That was a pretty good episode. I've only been watching reruns so I'm not entirely up to speed, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. [sp]Andy[/sp] actually was a pretty good boss; he's one of my favorite characters and it's good to see they didn't just make him a one-dimensional jerk. (I also like the gag of him dropping the statue in the intro where Michael usually adjusts the Dundie). ...and shove it up your butt!
D'aww, Andy is such a sweetheart; I loved the episode.
Pretty funny episode, but it just feels like something is missing with Michael gone.
But it was ok?
i have not laughed this hard in months
Stanley seems less miserable this season and Angela seems like less of a bitch. I like old Stanley more though.
I didn't have anything AGAINST Steve Carell, but holy shit it's so much better without him. That was the best episode I've seen in a while.

But it's true, without Steve, the rest of the cast really shines through. Rob Californa serves as more of an absent boss to leave the rest of his team to be retarded. But when he is present, he's very intense and interesting while also being a little mysterious. And he's a much more realistic boss, when pitted against the rest of the office, they really seem even more retarded and wacky than ever because they're compared directly to a more realistic office environment with Rob C It was so much more funny seeing the antics of the rest of the cast rather than just focusing mostly on Michael sitting in his office making awkward phone calls.
You have a point.
I'm so used to the regular characters that I find Robert California weird and wacky!
I thought it kinda sucked without Michael but it was pretty good. Pam looks really cute when she's in tears <3
I thought the episode was quite good, and I agree that Michael had started to get a little annoying with all the depressing stuff involving phonecalls and lovers.
Started watching the original Office, it's so inexplicably hilarious I can't explain... who the fuck says the things they do? American Office on the other hand... predictable garbage like Two and A Half Men. But nothing wrong with that.

It's just super super uncomfortable to watch. The US Office on the other hand is the perfect mix of awkward and funny. It's not even REMOTELY predictable garbage like Two and a Half Men. It's leagues ahead of that. It's not nearly comparable. You need to rethink everything you thought about both Offices.
The awkwardness is what made it so hilarious. Of course it's not as laid back as the US Office or Two and a Half Men. Fair enough, the US Office is still a good tribute to the original.. no denying that they did give it a good try.
How can you compare The Office to a sitcom like Two and a Half Men, which is basically just people standing around, saying a funny line, audience laugh?
STOP COMPARING THE OFFICE TO TWO AND A HALF MEN that is insulting to decent writers everywhere (ie the office writers) (ps you know both versions are created by Ricky Gervais right?)
UK Office is too awkward to enjoy.
I completely agree with everything you said but this. The UK office did such an amazing job with making things as awkward as possible, that it made me WANT to watch. The acting was impeccable, as well.
I agree, UK Office is the best if you're looking for an absolute realistic approach between the shows. And the hour or so reunion Special was a real nice treat.
Just finished the first series of UK Office. Absolutely, brutally funny. [editline]25th September 2011[/editline]
an absolute realistic approach
It's not really realistic because nobody says this shit in the real world..

I'll watch a bit of season 1 after I'm done with the UK version. I just doubt the characters will seem as real as they do here.
I watched a bit of the UK one, it was alright I guess, just seemed really awkward. Plus I don't like Ricky Gervais at all, I don't know why but he just brushes me the wrong way.
I'll watch a bit of season 1 after I'm done with the UK version. I just doubt the characters will seem as real as they do here.
they are more like caricatures, but are also much more hilarious especially dwight
I'll watch a bit of season 1 after I'm done with the UK version. I just doubt the characters will seem as real as they do here.
Don't judge it on Season 1. The US version doesn't really come into its own until around season 3.
Don't judge it on Season 1. Although there's only 14 in the UK Office, it's unbelievably good all the way through.
