imo they should end the series when Michael leaves. It'll become a struggle to keep viewers now that suu a great character is gone, and the shoe would most likely end up being a cash cow milking machine just like every other sitcom out there.

Too late, they've already confirmed an eight season. And I find it a good way to find out what it's like without Michael. You act like the series will become automatically bad, and I wouldn't even go that far without actually seeing what it's like when the time does come that the first season without Michael is shown. Afterward, then you can rightfully express your opinion.

And The Office is supposed to be a mockumentary with realistic events, not your regular and unrealistic sitcom.

Yeah, I totally agree. I had no idea why they thought the show declined in quality, they were just being realistic. I, for one, think the show is at its best right now.
I'm watching the newest episode. The part with Michael and Erin going crazy in his office put the hugest smile on my face.
i dont find the new episodes nearly as funny. they're trying too hard
Who is going to watch The Office after its 7th season. And I still remember the funniest part:
[sp]NO GOD PLEASE NO. NO. NO. NNOOOOOO*cuts to The Office intro*[/sp]

I'm going to, I enjoy the new episodes.
I might watch a few but more than likely I won't follow it as much as I used to.
I've never seen the American version before, I'll probably watch the one with David Brent cameoing, but is the rest of it worth watching?
Seasons 2-4 are the best ones IMO.
Maaaan the UK office is so much funnier than the american version.
If there's one guy who can play a worse boss than Steve Carell, it's Will Ferrell -- and the movie star is set to do just that.
Ferrell, a long-time friend and co-star of Carell -- the two featured together in 'Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy' -- will join the workplace comedy for a four episode arc near the end of this season, Deadline.com reports.
Carell's Emmy-winning time on 'The Office' is winding down, and the show has been waiting to reveal his replacement at Dunder Mifflin. Ferrell will play a branch manager that comes in as Carell's Michael Scott begins leaving, and will take over for at least one episode.
"We are proud to continue The Office's tradition of discovering famous talent," 'The Office' show runner Paul Lieberstein (who plays Toby on the show) said, "and we hope that once America gets a good look at Will, they'll see what we see, tremendous raw sexuality."
Farrell and Carell's careers often intertwine: Carell tried out for 'Saturday Night Live,' claiming he lost out to Farrell, and they starred together in 2005's 'Bewitched.'

Who will fill Michael scott's position? He was such a huge part of the show's makeup, and having someone who isn't as crazy or "always humiliating himself"-ness, like a coworker from the office, just won't be the same.

Creed was brilliant in yesterday's episode btw.

Saw this in the newspaper.
(No seriously. I read a newspaper today)
Creed is probably my favorite character. The fact that he actually used to be in a slightly popular band in the 60s makes everything cooler;

Plus deleted scene showing his guitar skills:

Did anyone watch last night's episode?
I loved it when [sp]Ricky Gervais talked with Steve Carell at the beginning.[/sp]

Woah, that was last night? I need a clip of this.

it was amazing
I just watched the new episode. Loved the intro.
Could it be hinting at Ricky Gervais being a replacement for Steve Carell? I mean, it would work out pretty well since they pretty much play the same character.
^ Could be. That would be pretty cool. I'd at least accept him to be a simple employee.
Anyone else seen tonight's episode? I think it's my new favorite, and I found it very enjoyable!
I'm somewhat expecting Gabe to take over from Michael, even though I hope he doesn't because I really don't like him.

Its a different style of humor, but the earlier seasons are pretty good, you might like it.
[sp]Yay! Michael and Holly are back together![/sp]
I watched them all up to season 6, but then got really bored.
I just watched all the rest of season 7 though, and I forgot how much I like it.
Creed is awesome. I'm glad the writers keep him at a once in a while occasion. Having him become a more common would diminish the creepy factor.
Funfact: Creed Bratton, who plays Creed Bratton, used to be a guitarist in the Grass Roots.
Really? That's pretty cool.
I found the newest episode to be hilarious! Especially the Toby part.
That part reminded me of this:

Latest episode "Garage Sale" was amazing. Did anyone tear up near the end? I felt a bit of sorrow but not to the point of crying.
So him leaving with Holly to Colorado will be the reason of his departure.
