Is that it, or is there a second part? And I remember reading a different one, but only like the first 2 sentences, which I think it started out with the TARDIS crashing into Twilight's house/library or something.

Thread sure slowed down.
I hope I'm not late

I appologise, but you are, in my case at least. Still, you are credit for trying!
Is that it
It was the first one that came up on equestria daily

HeavyWeaponsShy has perfect timing, I just found this comic.
I'm trying to calculate the terminal velocity of a falling pony, can I get some help with the drag coefficient and weight
this is incredibly important science
Applejack is my favourite pony.

I swear to god, why does her face looks like she want to seduce me?
:gonk:

Because she will, and then you will join AJ's ranks...
Because she will, and then you will join AJ's ranks...
So you're saying she's interest in me?

your average shetland pony weighs around 400-500 pounds but I couldn't tell you much about it's drag coefficient

no she's looking at me

$50 for a BJ. :v:
and it depends on whether or not we're talking unicorns, pegasi or earth ponies
I have just calculated that the speed required for sonic rainboom is 600 km/h (372mph), which is about half the speed of sound at sea level.
and it depends on whether or not we're talking unicorns, pegasi or earth ponies
In my extensive research using photographic evidence of falling pegasi and unicorns, I was willing to conclude that there is no major difference between the weight of earth ponies and pegasi.

sonic rainboom requires both a sonic boom and a rainbow but the only way to reliably create a sonic boom is to fly above the speed of sound
also it's not so much the weight as it is that pegasi fall differently than earth ponies due to the wings
That was compensated in the drag calculation with the surface area. Also if you take notice of the sonic rainboom episode, Rarity was falling at the same velocity as the Thunderbolts - her flailing could have caused drag equal to those of winged incapacitated ponies.

I'd like to know why you're conducting these tests, I might give you a grant
but rainbow dash was able to fall considerably faster without any additional thrust (she never moved her wings on the way down, at least not on camera)
This has far too many variables to be calculated without extensive observation
She reduced drag by assuming a streamlined position.
While neither The Wonderbolts nor Rarity showed signs of doing this.

I want them!
She reduced drag by assuming a streamlined position.
again, a variable, and cannot be reliably calculated without observation

To be honest, I had no idea there was such a thing as a Sonic Boom until you mentioned it.

Well, on our Earth gravity has a constant pull of 9.81 m/s squared, and I would have to assume that the pull of gravity is less in Equestria, judging by the fact that pegasus ponies can fly with such small wings. Did you factor that in?
To be honest, I had no idea there was such a thing as a Sonic Boom until you mentioned it.
I'm pretty sure I learned about those when I was five
Good god what.
Thats pretty much babys stuff.
I learned that from a pokemon game when i was 7.

I factored in magic

you learned about athf from a pokemon game?
I factored in magic
But the amount of magic is unknown, plus, she's not a unicorn
