Shoulda removed the clutch fan and cowl, in that order. Leaves a ton of room in front of the motor too, all the more reason to ditch the clutch fan for an e-fan. Just so long as you remember it's reverse threaded.
Doesn't help much when the pipe is on the back of the head, lol! :v:
But I can only assume that's the way to take care of all that plastic junk pipes on the front.

I don't know if I'll have the time to drive that far. :v:
I do have some family in Florida though, mfers posting pictures of them at the beach while it's raining ice here
Nothing like having to remove your front bumper to change headlamps.
Volvo swears that you can get to the lowbeams from inside the engine department, but it was a hell of a lot easier to just take the front off.
But now my front calipers seem to stick. Stuck the V70 in the garage to warm up overnight, and see if that changes anything.

Same thing for me with the 06 Impreza. I wondered why a shop wanted over $100 for replacing the headlights before figuring out the labor of removing the bumper was the reason. Just did it at home because it's easy as well, just unnecessarily time-consuming for just replacing the bulbs and cleaning the contacts.
changed the fuel pump on the e46 today, was amazed on how easy and fast it was took 15 mins max. 4 10mm bolts, one hose, and one wire connector
77 Camaro from Transformers
I don't like these movies much at all but this car is super goddamn cool to me
Gonna get my hands on a 77 Camaro soon just because of this exact car

Yea, I was pretty disappointing in the first movie when he switched from that beautiful ratty beast to the new shiny plastic camero.
lookie what i just scooped up
completely rust free california car out in the wi snow, i felt obligated to save it from -25f hell

it's an auto and the head gasket leaks, but i've got an m50 lined up for a swap. much better than the rusty calypso red shell i was planning on swapping into
I was looking up pictures of 1985 Skylarks like what I have and I found one that looks an awful lot like mine from a blog post. I go on there and read it further and I see that they found it from a craigslist ad from Daytona. And then my brain started working - I bought my Skylark from a guy in Daytona I delivered a pizza to, and that Skylark has the same missing driver side trim, dash pad, wheel wrap, etc. as mine, as well as selling it for the same price I bought it fpr. I found my car online and holy shit I'm ecstatic that some else cares about this car like I do.

I mean I like the wheel wrap but I dunno if it's better than a regular steering wheel or if this was a fad back then, I dunno.

Even worse in the 4th movie Bumblebee's a first gen Camaro and everyone in the movie keeps shitting on it for being an old car
Hard limit for budget is around 9k ideally I'd like to come in closer to 6-6.5K but if not whatever. I've looked at everything from 97-07 as far as year goes I'm not really picky I'd like the 2.5 and manual but a slushbox is ok too. So far I've just been dodging rust (rather not inherit someone elses rust monster) and hooned out impreza's there's an '00 manual 2.5 RS that's kind of got my eye but it's got a rebuilt engine in it (133K on the frame motor was replaced at 106K) and I haven't been down there to see why yet however it's mostly stock except for OEM interior upgrades and OEM exterior stuff which is nice and a pretty extensive work history apparently which is also appreciated
For 6k, you could likely get a low mileage 02-06 of almost any model with low mileage
The 99-01 2.5RS's are beautiful cars, i would love to have one.
It likely had headgasket issues. Rs models were known to be neglected and nearly every single one has needed headgaskets, from what i have seen.
Rust is a pain on Subaru's. They are well known for snow capabilities, and sell incredibly well in the north, which means many die rusty deaths.
Why is there a splitter on a car that's like 10ft above the ground
"looks cool bro..." logic.
Hey guys, so i'm just doing some preliminary planning before the Subaru eventually dies.
I live in the Northeast US. I'm trying to think of a car I would buy that's under 10k (preferably closer to 7k) but also be great in the snow.
I love my Subaru but it's just getting to be one issue after another and i'm tired of constantly fixing it.
I was thinking of maybe a Mazdaspeed6 but I'm not so sure. I loved my '03 Mazda6 and I wish I had something that's a little "fancier" than the Impreza. (Probably just be happy with leather seats instead of cloth, lol)
I'd get another Subaru but it seems like Subaru's designs after 2005 just seem so ugly up until recently.
I wish I could afford a new GTI, I love the styling even though it doesn't have AWD.
Does anybody have any thoughts?
This is so stupid but so funny

Yeah after being so used to southern cars and there lack of rust this was kind of a shock to me I looked at a 97 outback sport and while it looked fine on the outside the whole frame was crumbly and horrible. the '00 2.5RS was a missouri car for most of it's life so I'm hopeful on that cause I really do like that car and it's the least clapped out subaru I've seen so far

Try a Legacy GT or an Outback.
My '99 Outback Sport had cloth seats and was fairly basic.
My '99 Legacy Outback SUS has heated leather seats, heated mirrors, heated wipers, moonroof, premium audio, and much more that the Impreza didn't have.
The Legacy GT and Outbacks both offer leather seats and many options. Standard Legacy's may also offer leather, just harder to find. Theres also the Forester, though sounds like you want something smaller.
I do like the foresters but I think I prefer something more like my Impreza hatch.
I'll definitely check into the Legacy GT, though.
Any particular year I should look into?
I know that older Outbacks with a standard transmission in it would likely have a 2.2, but I don't know what the quirks are of the Legacy GTs.
I have been watching this guy lately

I need to actually finish one of my projects... But I have all these other things I want to do to.
Like, I want to make a stupid fuel efficient car. Like maybe a '89 Dodge Daytona (A third one). You can easily get 30mpg out of them stock, 5-speed or auto. But there's guys on the forums with huge turbos and stuff doing 45mpg.
Or Neon Coupe. Strip it and do some aero mods.
being a truck guy I'm glad to be in the double digits with my fuel economy
As for my fleet:
'95 Dodge Dakota Sport V8 Short Bed, Single Cab: 18mpg
'89 Dodge Daytona ES 2.5L TBI 3-speed Auto: ~30mpg
'05 PT Cruiser GT Auto: 25mpg
'05 Neon SRT-4: 25-27mpg
It'd be sweet to do 30+ in something.
meanwhile my 05 4.8 v8 silverado with cams, carbs, headers, an intake leak, and a thrashed short as hell rear end gets 12 on the highway
You through carbs on your '05 4.8L? Lol what?
Smiles per gallon.

The 2.2 outback was only for very early models, as in 95/96. Early 96, the 2.5 was put in the Outback.
The Legacy GT has three generations that fit your price range.
The first is 96-99 with the EJ25D non-turbo. Most were manual, very sporty cars.
Only issue with them is, like the RS, some werent maintained and had headgasket issues. A good friend of mine had one, the gaskets lasted to 220k miles with poor maintenance. It was a pretty nice car.
Second is 00-04. Still non-turbo, with the EJ251. A bit more reliable, less headgasket issues, more refined look imo.
These two generations are like premium Legacies that are sportier. Loaded with options, different bumpers and spoiler, but a nice and simple non-turbo drivetrain.
If you want power, the third option is the 03-09 with the EJ255 Turbo.
250hp, easily upgradeable. They were detuned for increased reliability.
Pretty reliable, though you do have more sensors, turbo related parts, etc. To work with.
These are very sporty and handle the power nicely.
For me, it would be hard to choose. It all depends on what is available in your area.
I like the 00-04 GT a lot. Very simple to work on, easily a 300k+ mile car.
My brake problem went away. But I'm gonna keep a watch on it in case it comes back.
The Volvo gets around ~25 mpg. Not to sure, but it lasts about a week till I have to fill it back up again. I believe it gets better mileage than my old Taurus did.

yeah it having issues with the injectors when I got it and since computer wizardry is beyond me and I had some spare carbs laying around I was just like yeah why not
I'll tell you why not, they're drive by wire from the factory. a total pain in the ass that was

I have a horrible attraction to pegging my speedo going down the interstate so my highway mileage is horrible.
Pretty sure 60% of the time I'm in the singles. I blame the former mentioned and towing with 3.42 gears. ;_;
Winter: Taking your 35 PSI tire down to 20 PSI in three days. At least I got them to the PSI that I wanted after noticing they were flat af
