I prefer it because it just tells you what you're looking for, plain and simple.
[QUOTE=Ldesu;51666199]Man the craigslist page is so plain. Such a boring page design.[/QUOTE]
Craiglist always shouted "Plain and simple, get shit done." kind of page to me. No frills. It does what it does, and does it (kinda) well.
Here's an example of the page we use mostly in Norway:

Looks like it has a lot more useful information displayed.
The roads are a mix between shitty and clear. Half my commute I absolutely need chains or snow tires, the other half is bare pavement. I [I]need[/I] chains to get in and out of my apartment complex too. I'd take my chains off but I don't want to put them back on
I found this exchange hilarious...

Felt like progress.
Had the windshied changed in 2011. Rut was noted and ground off and treated.
Had the windshield changed again in 2016. Some rust was noted but again I paid extra to grind it off and treat it.
I fucking look at the trim around my windshield today and see the paint is starting to bubble up and I see rust streaks. Did they fucking do anything???
Fuck you Crystal Auto Glass. The trim is also all glued in so I can't even grind it down and repair it.
Sweet deal clutch.
I just ordered that hard to find canadian starter i needed. I found someone who actually had one. I also ordered a newer style fuse block, im going to get rid of the glass tube block inside the cabin and reroute all the wiring to the engine bay to a 6 terminal fuse block, and put the fuel pump and headlights on their own relays. The radio will have its own fuse, etc. It'll be a fun challenge, and i ordered some more restoration style wiring with cloth and vinyl cover for where its visible and 4 different pairing colors for the speakers, @25' each.
Clutch, i am looking for a pinable harness that i can use to make a radio harness from the ground up. Basically need the side that is usually attached to the car, and the side youd use to adapt to the various radio harnesses. You know what i mean? So i want to pin all brand new wiring into one side, and be able to plug in the radio harness side to it. I cant find a setup like this.

Your friend is a special kind of stupid, e85 is only available at certain gas stations in florida, usually in more metro places.
I know theres a few places around that sell non-ethinol gas. The only people I see using that gas are old dudes with classic cars and people who are painfully uninformed about what ethanol actually does to the fuel system.
[editline]13th January 2017[/editline]
Sorry if thats a bit harsh.
e10 and ethanol free of a given octane rating cost roughly the same except e10 makes 4% less power so I buy ethanol free
in nz we have 95, 98, diesel and lpg. I don't know what all these other things are :v:
Is lpg liquid propane gas?
we've got 85, 87, 91, 93, and 95 (all 10 percent ethanol) at the pump depending on what gas station you go to. add 5 to any given US octane rating to get the euro rating. plus we've got diesel, e85 (85 percent ethanol), and ethanol free at certain stations. you used to be able to relatively easily get methanol at the pump too but those days are over.
plus there's 100LL (105 octane by euro ratings, leaded gas) at airfields and all kinds of shit available at drag strips.
lpg is readily available but hardly anyone here puts it in their cars. it's mostly grills and heaters that use it
Doing a big trans swap day, taking the trans from my red cummins and putting in a silver one I bought (oh yeah, I bought another 12 valve. That makes 3 12 valves and 5 trucks total), then putting the 5 speed from my black truck in my red truck and putting a built automatic in the black truck.

Its actually in pretty nice shape. Original 5 speed truck but it was swapped to an auto, putting a 5 speed back in.
Yes, thats a greasy hood stack.
Trans is out of the red truck, doing the silver truck tomorrow
I had a bitch of a time changing the belt on my dad's f150 today. don't know why ford feels the need to make a truck engine bay so cramped. if it just had an electric fan then it would have been easy but nope ford has to be all contrarian and stick a belt drive fan in the damn thing.
didn't even fix the problem, I was hoping belt slip was keeping his alternator from charging the battery properly but nope. they even went and made the alternator a pain to extract by sticking it underneath a rad hose.
guess I'm a chevy man for a reason.
My serpentine belt was easy, once I figured out the routing.
I've got big man arms though

electric fans are better than mechanical fans in every single way anyway. better packaging, better cooling, less parasitic draw (which translates to better fuel economy and more importantly more power), better longevity, and you can get up to operating temp with them faster because they're not constantly spinning
I understand that mechanical fans used to be better just for simplicity's sake when the only things powered in a car were the ignition system and headlights but that was back when there were a grand total of 5 things in the engine bay and there's already so much electrical stuff going on in an engine bay these days that it just doesn't make sense to not add 3 or 4 more wires.
[editline]14th January 2017[/editline]
oh and electric fans don't shit themselves when your motor turns faster than 6 grand. not much of an issue in his mostly stock f150 but boy am I glad I don't have to deal with that in my silverado
[editline]14th January 2017[/editline]
the only time I would say yeah go mechanical is if you're building a street rod and can see the thing, and even then if you put a clearly modern motor in there like a coyote then an electric fan will look better
[editline]14th January 2017[/editline]
I'm very opinionated when it comes to fans
I like when fan clutches seize up and spin 1:1.
dat noise and fuel economy drop tho

Wiring work is best work :) Glad to hear the starter's on its way. Are you gonna fire it up before rewiring it?
As far as making your own harness, I would look up 'molex plug and pins' and get the appropriate number of cavities;

Would that work?
Here's a bit of trouble.. I need a ~3' long wire to get from my coil to my dizzy. The coil in my wire kit is ~1'. Can I buy a single plug wire anywhere? Is that a thing? What a weird issue.
motorcycle shops and small engine shops will sell single plug wires cut to custom length and will install boots for you. the ones at small engine shops aren't rf suppressing but it works and its cheaper so long as you don't care too much about your radio, and if your area is anything like mine there a whole lot more small engine shops than motorcycle shops.
most parts stores will sell single wires too but if it's for a custom application they're probably gonna look at you like an idiot, only sell it by the foot, and not know how to put a boot on it assuming they don't tell you to go to a lawnmower shop
Ah, sweet tip. I'll begin my search there! Thanks butre.
its one I use a lot when I come across an engine that has 7 good plug wires and one that's been eaten by rats
[editline]14th January 2017[/editline]
of course you can also order plug wires from ebay for next to nothing but then it takes 2 weeks for you to get it. those usually wont be rf suppressing either

Found a gap in the salt and ice and took the car out. Finally got the collectors plates on it too
Doesn't seem to like the cold though. Took about half an hour for the spedo to start working, the left side windows stopped working, the right passenger door stuck and so on. Get some heat in it and it all starts working again. Suppose it was just protesting.
I forget how nice it is to drive too. Steering is springy and tactile, pedals are responsive but forgiving. Put my foot in it on an empty road and it hauls. What a pleasure it is.
yo I'm gonna need deets on that rolls back there. I've been looking for a good one for ages and it seems they're all either concours quality or bent
[editline]14th January 2017[/editline]
there's a pretty good one on my local cl right now but it's a long wheelbase model and not my preferred year or color

YES thats exactly what i need. Ill look it up. You can buy single plug wires, even at autozone and stores like that. They have little pegs usually in their backroom and just ask you how long it needs to be. Or buy an accell cur to fit kit and be done.
And yeah ill probably at least fire it and drive it to my house before i rewire. Thats where all my electrical tools and supplies are anyway.

Oh yeah, my dad bought that off an old friend of his. Dude's old money and it was his daily for like 30 years. It's not concours but with some work it could be. Trunk seal went and so some of the sheet metal rotted out, there's something up with the brakes and there's some bubble rust on the front end, but other than that it's rock solid. The motor is a work of art too. 8 liters of british passive aggression. Thing handles like an 50's Lincoln though.
I'll say this, you don't want a bad rolls. Honestly i'd recommend finding a local rolls or english car club and asking those folks. There's always someone willing to part with something or someone who knows someone who has what you're looking for. Plus they know what to do when it blows up. Do not craigslist for anything other than parts cars. For some domestic mopar that can take abuse, sure. Something like a rolls, not so much. They're bulletproof but only if you tend to them. Also that entire generation was made for about 20 years and apart from minor changes to the bumpers, they're all identical. Although you do want the "second generation" Silver Shadow, IE anything after '77. They changed up a bit of stuff to make it drive better and is just generally a better car. Plus they redid the hood ornament so nobody could steal them, which is good. But after that there's fuck all difference between the years.
So, my mech cleared my car's ECU memory and swapped Crankshaft Sensors while waiting on a new ECU, and my car hasn't had an issue since. What?
