Thanks!
Well here it's a bit more open, I currently drive in the amateur series called DNRT. In which there are 3 devisions. Toer, sport, and supersport. I drive in the sport class. The class above me is more for semi-pro's or at least people which a truckload of that sponsor money.
The classes are kinda based on weight/power ratio'sand the times you drive. At any time the officials can move you higher or lower in a division. And there are seperate classes for special cars like
Italia cup (mostly old alfa romeos)
E30 cup
MX5 cup
cool, what kind of cars do you drive against? are there many tracks over there? in the US even if you're lucky enough to have a local or semi-local track (within a 2-hour drive) it's often a 6 hour drive or more to anything other than that track.

I mostly drive against BMW's. The top 10 is made up mostly of e36/e36 m3's.
There's some actual original BTCC cars too, original mercedes and a Volvo 850.
In the end I think 2/3 is BMW. The rest are original CUP cars

Track wise I'm pretty lucky. These tracks are near me
1h Circuit Park Zandvoort (netherlands)
2h Circuit Assen (netherlands)
2h Circuit Zolder (belgium)
3h Spa Francorchamps (belgium)
3h Nurburing
I'm mostly at Zandvoort. Because I know the track well and it's relatively close. 1h with trailer. About 40-50min with a road car.

Wish he'd give me his car. So I could not get people killed with it. Cube"Mans" cars demand blood sacrifice to get the wheels turning.
Biased since I love Mopar, but I feel like one of the few people on the Internet who actually likes the Challenger Hellcat.
OH! Got to see a pretty interesting vehicle today. Driven by an even more interesting customer.
Had a guy and his wife in her 2 0 1 6 Audi S6 V8T to our shop to get tires put on today.
Kinda bizzare considering I work at Walmart. Not exactly a performance shop.
It's a, what, $71,000 dollar car I think?
You would think these people would have the brains/money to take something like that to... uh, not Walmart's shop that dicks around with mostly cleetus' truck and granny's buick lesabre. :v:
Anyways, I wasn't eager to do it since 255/40/19s are a BITCH to put on with our worn out tire machines. Luckily, we were out of stick on weights to balance their tires with, so we got to punt it out. Went out and explained it to the customer. The guy understood, But...This Lady was all pissy, got upset because I wrapped up the tires she brought in to get put on before I put them in the trunk. Told me not to leave my trash in her car.
She ended up ripping all the plastic out and throwing it into the shop at us. Talking about how she was never coming back here again (Baffles me why people think I won't be happy to hear this.)
Fucking Audi drivers, man. Grounds for execution :v:

And enough cupholders to store his lies about it.

Modern Audi owners seems to be reaching the douchebag and incompetence level of BMW owners.
And I say this as a Audi owner.
Should be quarentined for carrying the curse. Dump trucks crashing through the owners yard, its predecesor broke down often, was stolen and totalled, and last we saw, killing street racers. I can only imagine what that haunted plastic midlife crisis has moved on to since we stopped keeping an eye on it.

Eh. At least BMW owners have the decency to quietly look down their nose at me while thinking about how much better they are than me.
Audi drivers are just so darn aggressive about it, jeeze. Literally shouting about it. :v:

Many of them seem to be in denial over the fact they couldn't afford that fully loaded BMW they wanted, so they went with a fully loaded Audi instead of a basemodel BMW.
Those types are some of the vapid idiots that just LOVE to list the options they bought their car with.
Once rust appears in places like that, it is extremely difficult to repair permanently, let alone a few years. It's like wheel well rust.
It's not difficult to make a lasting rust repair. The problem is that people are fucking stupid. Rust on even remotely modern cars is damn near always caused by water getting trapped somewhere. Salt makes this worse because saltwater contains tons of dissociated ions which causes electrolysis reactions with the paint and or metal. Things like rubberized undercoating, grommets, rubber drain boots, and even dirt in the tops of wheel arches can temporarily trap water.
Also some cars have poorly thought out designs which allow water to collect in the unibody such as VW Vanagon Westfalia campers with the propane stove. On said vans (I've seen this on more than one Westfalia) the flue vent, ground power, and ground water hookup port seals can fail causing water to enter the body and rust it out from the inside. Because of this, one of my friends parents denounced all rust inhibitors as gimmicks, when in truth the issue was that their van was rotting from the inside, where it could not be treated without the removal of the stove, sink, and refrigerator.
Before you can repair rust, you have to figure out how you got rust in the first place. Now as far as rust inhibitors go, I think Bill Hirsch Miracle Paint works pretty good, but I've used rustoleum a few times with decent results. If you are looking for some decent youtube content on DIY rust repair that works well, then Mercedessource is probably one of the best out there.

Also, I'm sure Ldesu has some more tips and tricks about dealing with rust.
My other advice is to wash your car at least once a week, sometimes twice in the winter if you live in an area where they use tons of salt on the roads.
I've got a ton.
But all mine deal with water-related rust... :saddowns:
I've got a ton.

All rust is water related
I've got no rust on my 1.8 litre petrol 2002 Toyota Avensis Sedan, however, along the yearly oil change, a dent on the front bumper had to be bumped out (thank god it's plastic), the section of exhaust that holds two flexible parts of the exhaust and the catalytic converter had to be replaced for a new one, an oxygen sensor for the exhaust had to be replaced, new rear shock absorbers were fitted and after my car was rear-ended a new rear bumper had to be fitted.. And the coolant temperature gauge motor had to be replaced, however I was able to do it myself with a soldering iron. And a new starter was fitted after it, well, failed to start. And a new battery was fitted for the same reason. And it barely passed the yearly inspection, because the brake discs are quite badly rusted, and need to be replaced along with brake pads.. That's a project for next summer then. Also, the rev counter doesn't work.
But god, I love that car.
All rust is water related
All rust is oxygen related
All water is oxygen related
Most things are oxygen related
Like life and death.
Maybe thats too deep though when it comes to rust.
Lest you consider the life and death of the car.

I can dig it.
cant even clear a pothole in that thing, yet has it on a dirt road
hotwheels lookin ass back wheels too
Just curious, where should one be looking at if the speedometer of a Peugeot 406 randomly drops to zero? Our car has that problem in question and not only is it bad to not know your speed in all of a sudden, the total mileage counter won't work too because those are linked :v:

If you have an analog instrument cluster, the cable has probably separated from the instrument cluster, which is behind the dashboard itself. Do the lights on the speedo/cluster go out as well, or does the needle just drop? If it's just the needle, the speedometer cable itself likely snapped, which is a mechanical part.
But if its digital, your speed sensor or VSS could have a fault in it or its wiring. I once worked on a scion tc where both front abs sensors failed, which kept the speedo from working and wouldnt let the transmission shift.
I know cars where it's electrical it can be a loose connection to the speed sensor (or sensor about to croak) down on the gearbox near the differential part, if it's only the speedometer.
If it's the whole cluster, then hoo boy, I've seen some modern cars where it was due to canbus for the cluster (and everything else in the cabin) having a short somewhere.
Could also be a corroded connector in the latter case, I know of a Ford Transit that works for a random amount of time when you give the cluster a "gentle reminder" to work again.
It can also be ABS sensors dying, and probably ABS units as well. Peugeot probably has either a sensor on the gearbox, or uses ABS sensors on the front wheels. I know the 307's speedometer uses the speed of the front wheels (not always reliable if it's slippery)
Did the rest of my sway links. Both back ones had bushings fall out. Fronts were loose, but not bad.
For the first time, i used my 'Zip Wrench'. Had it 10 years, bought it as a novelty, saved me tons of time on the links.
Drove the truck, stopped vibrating, mustve been ice somewhere.
The snow hasn't melted yet and now we're expecting a god damn ice storm tonight into tomorrow
Contrary, we're expected to have highs in the upper 30's/40 this week. Effectively melting all our snow and ice.
Which sucks.
