There's a flood watch too, it's supposed to eventually turn to rain...3-4 inches of rain, which will melt what's left of the snow.
If you have an analog instrument cluster, the cable has probably separated from the instrument cluster, which is behind the dashboard itself. Do the lights on the speedo/cluster go out as well, or does the needle just drop? If it's just the needle, the speedometer cable itself likely snapped, which is a mechanical part.
It's an analog gauge yeah, and as far as I know it's literally just the speedometer dropping to zero. Wherever the speedometer was down the rest of the instrument cluster was still fine. You can still see the pilot lights being on if any, along with the backlight of the trip mileage and total mileage display still being on.
I want some warmth and the snow gone, I wanna drive my Beetle again :v:
Had some fun last night changing an inner tierod and bellow for the driver side on my cars rack. Changing the tierod was about as easy as it can get, because this is what they look like: [t]http://img.auctiva.com/imgdata/1/3/7/0/6/4/0/webimg/557099738_o.jpg[/t] No special tools needed, just bend a retainer out of the way and there you go. The boot was the hard part, mostly because it was slathered in grease and refused to go onto the rack. I also adjusted the play the rack itself had by adjusting the ram retainer(?) bolt....thing. No more perpendicular movement nor noise. Also did the old as shit string alignment, we'll see if it actually works.
Yea no shit, everybody was freaking out about a giant ice storm and it got me all excited, now its just overcast and 30.
Right after posting this I walked outside, slipped, and planted a knee into the pavement. Figures. I did get some good cookies in the mall parking lot so all is well.
Got the stereo installed in the truck today. Used the battery trick to identify the speaker wires. It's so nice to have sound in that thing again! It still has issues with receiving a signal now and then, but light pressure on the stereo gets it back. I'm thinking it's probably the antenna cable.
The snow hasn't melted yet and now we're expecting a god damn ice storm tonight into tomorrow
Have fun, we got hammered by a ice storm last month. My neighborhood lost roughly 2/3rds of the trees that were planted like 20 years ago. Power poles and lines were down all over town in roads, abandoned for well over a week and CenturyLink is just finally fixing most of it's infrastructure but some of it probably won't ever be fixed. Since they're a excellent company which only exists to serve AT&T/Quest's ancient network that they bought up for a steal and plan to run it until it literally falls apart.
Centurylink is sorta decent around here, but theyre absolutely subhuman garbage next to the benevolent supreme ISP, midcontinent communications. I cant remember the last outage Ive had, and a couple years ago they doubled the bandwidth up and down for all their customers without increasing price a penny, since they actually upgrade their infrastructure. I pay around 50 a month for 60 down 10 up, but I actually get around 74 down.

You're lucky to get 10mbps/0.6mbps out of the like 20mbps that you pay for. A buddy of mine in Missouri was stuck with them and was paying $80 a month but actually got the advertised DSL speeds. It's like $30 over here for their subpar services.
Just curious, where should one be looking at if the speedometer of a Peugeot 406 randomly drops to zero? Our car has that problem in question and not only is it bad to not know your speed in all of a sudden, the total mileage counter won't work too because those are linked :v:
I haven't had a speedo in my 11 year old truck for about 9 years

Send help hi-way robery in progress.

Not a single day downtime. Also, as for weather. We were initally told that we would get 3/4th of an inch of ice. Then we were told 1-2/100 of an inch. State of Emergency for Missouri. It rained.

Haha, I wish. Atleast all 3 of my room mates do have interesting cars though.
Will suck cock and turn wrench for google fiber
We have AT&T Fiber in our town, but it's not available on my street. Instead I'm stuck with shitty Uverse

They pay 50% less post promotion and get 10x the internet speed. The only catch is the 1Tb data cap. And if they hit that data cap I'll have to have a talk with them since I dont think I could hit that cap.
Stuck with spectrum here, seeing as they bought brighthouse. I havn't had to many problems with them, aside from the now absurd pricing they have. Speed went up a tiny bit while the price jumped 10 bux, why not just fucking leave the price alone, I only have internet, jeez.
I have Comcast and I get 250+mbps. :v:
I have Comcast and I get 250+mbps. :v:
Man... i got Gamecast
I have Comcast and I get 250+mbps. :v:
I get 150 down, 6 up here. It's like flooring a car and it takes off like all get out, and you go to shift into second and it makes a fart noise and stalls.

It goes down to like $80 if you get a land line.... Oh and 20mbps is $29.95 :v:
I have 500 down and 50 up here :v:
I decided to try this "OfferUp" app. It's like a ghetto version of Craiglist. It's just ignorant Facebook users. Everything involving vehicles is listed like this: [t]http://i.imgur.com/gWHqoNg.png[/t] One or two pictures of the vehicle. Kind of lists what the vehicle is, but always vague. Never list miles, more than half are missing titles, and so on. Wtf.
Avoid letgo as well. Full of fuckin idiots
Never thought I'd see the day when craigslist was considered quality in comparison.
I ordered some 3/8" screw in tire studs, now i just gotta find two fresh minibike tires before icefishing this weekend. I think theyre 2.5-10s.
Opened up the starter motor for my boatmotor today, and it was not pretty: [t]http://i.imgur.com/0GaV76d.jpg[/t] Starting in the lower right clockwise: The brush split in two, brush is stuck in the holder, and finally the holder melted and is now barely recognizable. The last one seemed to be in alright condition, doesn't help when the rest are crap. [t]http://i.imgur.com/6bJ6Fql.jpg[/t] The casing isn't much better, the plastic holder is supposed to be a cross, but it has split between every brush. It's also held down by two bolts that also ground two of the brushes, one of the holes is partly corroded away. I'm frankly amazed it "worked" at all.
I love the look on the bike shop guy's face when I told him the reason Im buying minibike tires in january is so I can stud them and take it ice fishing. [t]http://i.imgur.com/TQILG6o.jpg[/t] The tires I found were actually a bit larger than the originals, and the rear one was quite a bit larger in the outside diameter, so Im going to have to move the crossmember forward on the swimgarm about an inch for it to fit. Also, for my first time fucking with tube tires, it wasnt actually too bad. Maybe thats because theyre so small.
I want a minibike to hoon now I'd just bomb around town and do errands and shit, hit some jumps at home It'd have to be retarded fast too, or a diesel
