I just got it, it's too young to die ;w;
I'm already in love with it, and it just doesn't accept me. It doesn't think feds are real cops.
Ice storm never hit this far north, down south they got hammered. It is, however, flooding. I hit some god damn lakes making my way home.
According to CenturyLink's site, it's $125 a month if you only want their double bonded "40mbps" service. It goes down to like $80 if you get a land line.... Oh and 20mbps is $29.95 :v:
29.95 a month for only the first year, after which standard rates apply.
Which is around 60 bucks a month from BH's old 50 for bottom dollar lowest end internet.

Once the rain passes, I'm gonna get the 85 waxed and I'll get some good all-around photos of her. Been meaning to post my todo list and ask you guys what you'd tackle, in what order, and any tips on doing it.

Ill tell you what, its fuckin great. All the fun of hot rodding, at not even a fraction of the price. Ive had this one since I was a little kid, my dad got it for free from a friend because absolutely nothing worked on it, and we swapped the 4hp tecumseh for a clapped out briggs and fixed it up. My first project vehicle, and my first motorcycle. Eventually I fixed up the tecumseh and put it back on, but the carb was super finicky. It eventually got a predator 212, and it totally refreshed my minibike fever. It does 40 now, probably faster with the taller rear tire, and would hit 50-60 if I took the governor out. Its a perfect example of nice enough to enjoy, beat up enough to have fun with. Most moderd minibikes dont have suspension, and most old ones are either rusted to bits or ~pristine~ collector pieces, no fun allowed.
The only thing I dislike about it is that I cant register it, since its never had a title or bill of sale, and my DMV is the most assinine beurophile piece of shit orginization Ive ever had to deal with.
Holy crap. The highway going north has a 20 car pile up and is shut down for atleast 15 miles. It's so foggy out you can't see more than 60-70 yards. There's ice all over the roads, it constantly accumulates on the windows because of the fog. There's semi trucks just sitting in the middle of bridges, police shut down other bridges because you can't see over or past them. I saw 4 TOTALED Mustangs. Like, how did you even do that, kind of totaled. One was 100 feet off the road back end into a barrier at the bottom of a hill. One slammed into a sign with concrete bases, another was underneath a semi with two cars smashed into it...
This is what I was expecting a few days ago. Now we have this, without warning. GG meteorologists.
Spent most of yesterdays evening trying to make the fucking polyester dashboard fit. What a nightmare. fitting a normal dashboard is tight enough, but the holes for the cage are pretty damn hard.

You know, I was very serious about buying one of those. But I couldn't get one in my area. You'd think we'd have a ton of them in the NYC area, but nope.
Also my car's antifreeze is cold. Fucking check engine light for cold car, wew.

If it's the COOLANT TEMP TOO LOW engine code, that's actually a bad thermo. It's saying the thermostat is reading a temperature too low, so the flow valve isn't opening. Risk of overheating, had it on my CVPI during the winter.
The 85 is developing a tick under power and I'm trying to determine what it is, I'll get a video of it. I also think the harmonic balancer is going.

Thermostat or temp sensor? A thermostat is typically a mechanical valve that opens at a set temperature, whereas the temp sensor measure the coolant temp and reports it to the ecu and your temperature gauge. Couldn't find anything on a flow valve.

Whatever detected the temperature. I told the mechanic I had a bad thermo, and he verified it, so.
Last winter i got a coolant temp below operating temp code on my crown vic. That was the week i let my mom use my car as i was busy replacing the clutch in her mini.
The thermo was stuck open, which somehow made coolant spray out over the top of the engine, then it seeped into the plug wells, shorted out half my coils, then because it was running so rich, the cats heated up and melted my rubber floor through the rust hole in my floor pan.
That was a confusing thing to troubleshoot.
Who else is tired of their ol' vehiclar device but can't commit to buying a new one? I've gone through just about every phase now and if I don't get something I swear I will default on a motorcycle and live with my 2stuckdrive halfton.
Thinking about selling the bass boat because it doesn't fit my life goals of living near the coast, to which I would rather invest that money in property for later use...
I need a magic 8ball to make up my life for me.
Too poor to buy a new one. Too rich to keep driving this Blazer. Too stubborn to buy a newer used vehicle.

Just write a bill of sale for your dad selling it to you, say he bought it off a friend or dont even say anything at all.
I do it all the time, be it Im selling something and not home so he has to, or ended up losing the bill of sale, registry never bats an eye.
If they say it wasn't registered under him last, say he bought it and fixed it but never registered it. They've never brought that up either tho
I'd do some stupid shit, like a nitrous kit, or a V twin, kohler flathead 2 cylinder (sounds like a v8), lots of cool little motors. We have a diesel pump engine sitting around that'd be fun to tune to puff some smoke, a guy on youtube turbo'd one

That johnny bravo pic is fitting lol
Id love to have a little diesel to put in it, but i cant find shit for used ones and new ones are like a thousand bucks. The coolest minibike mods ive seen was someone supercharging a minibike with an old vw belt driven smog pump. Which i guess works neatly until the teflon blades fall apart and go through your engine.
Ive thought about getting a bill of sale fro my dad for it, but i dont even know if that will work with these assholes. I suppose it couldnt hurt though.

This is a goddamned Rube Goldberg
Ok, so after booting my computer up after months, I can finally upload proper pictures. Also my comp is running slow as balls for some reason. I'll likely rebuild it again or something I don't know. Anyway, I am still waiting on my special Canadian starter to get here, but in the meantime I didn't want my car to sit out in the lake that used to be my shop. Literally it's full of mud and there's 6" of water down there when the rains hit it seems. SO I had the car moved to my house. Enjoy the picture dump.

I haven't decided which of the muscle car era Mopar graphics I'm going to do yet. I don't know if I want the tail stripe, or "DODGE" scripts on the sides, etc... I'm still thinking on all that, but it is going to have something.

swing arm is cut up, welded up, and repainted. The paints kinda nasty because I didnt let it cure before I reassembled it and subsequently covered it in slush, dirt, and chain lube. This thing fuckin rips through snow now. I cant wait to stud the tires and take it down the creek.
So, update.
And not a good one. We got it idling pretty good tonight and ran it about 10-15 minutes. Warmed up, seemed good, time to adjust valve lash on a warm engine.
I pulled the valve cover off and it was a DISASTER. Water everywhere. Somehow all my goddamn coolant is getting into the oil. Like, a lot. I immediately dumped the oil out and it had a decent amount of water in it.
SO, that.
I yanked the head off looking for major issues. I checked the headbolt torque, which I torqued to 65ft lbs according to the 22R engine specs. Those clicked at the appropriate time. So I yanked those all out. I noticed the bore for one of the headbolts had a significant amount of the oil/coolant mixture in it, but all the bores were full of oil when I pulled the engine apart, so I would assume stuff getting in there is OK and not cracked to a coolant or oil passage?
All the spots on the headgasket where the coolant passages were looked 'set' and I double checked the head and a .005" feeler gauge wouldn't slide under the straight edge.
The big issue I found (other than freakin chocolate milk) was that every intake valve kissed the dome of the cyl. Like.. I couldn't even feel this when I turned the engine over by hand. So weird. but there's mark on there. I gotta pull the valves and see if they're bent or what.. you can see a little discolored patch on each one where it kissed the cyl. Looks Like I gotta realllly carefully notch those pistons now, too. But not a big deal.
I'm bummed.. but I'm more worried about what ACTUALLY is/was causing. Because it ran for like 15 mins and mixed real, realllll bad. I hope there's not a crack in the block I missed.. it was supposedly fine when I got the car, and the oil was fine that I drained from the 22R when I did the rebuild.
Frustration! But it's not fun without issues, right? At least everything else worked good! Now I just gotta keep the fluids where they're supposed to go.
Unfortunately theres no telling because the only way youd know its a crack is if you opened the radiator cap and put a block sniffer in it. That would say if the oil or exhaust is mixing into the water jacket or vice versa. Typically if the head gasket is ok and the fluids are mixing, you either have a warped head, or a crack on the block, or head. Or a coolant passage has been shaved too thin somewhere. The oil and water passages from the block to the head are typically nowhere near eachother, depending on if the head drains back into a valley in the block, and then through holes down to the crank. The coolant is typically a few holes here and there. They couldnt really mix at the headgasket level. You can also have water entering the block near the crankshaft, dumping it into the pan and letting the pickup pump it into the head. I dont think you hurt anything on that short run.
The main thing though is it would be good to reassemble it and run it, because a block sniffer will say if theres a crack in the head, or headgasket, and if it tests negative you know you are only looking for an issue in the block.
The valves sound like you may have machined too much off the head or block, or you have your cam timing set slightly off.
@birdman101 are your rear shocks leaking?
@clutch2 in the chocolate milk machine 12 valve I bought it had 2 ways to make the delicious mixture. Oil in coolant but not coolant in oil. (I think since the oil makes more pressure than the coolant it couldn't get coolant in the oil)
The first culprit was the oil cooler, now I'm uncertain if the 22r would have it or not, but I'm just rattling shit off so you can check.
The second was the headgasket. On the 12v the rockers get their oil through the middle headbolts, what had (I assumed) happened was the coolant passage wore at the headgasket enough to compromise the little open spot where oil travels between the head and block and around the headgasket. Again, I dont know how the 22r works but I'm just tellin' what I've figured out
A third thing you could consider is if during assembly the headbolt-holes weren't cleaned out there could be fluid inside that when the bolt was torqued, hydrolocked and cracked the block.
Check which points oil and coolant get close to eachother, headgasket is the first thing, something like bottoming out the intake and exhaust bolts unknowningly can be another thing. Who knows! Tons of shit to check on an engine, I'm just thinking out loud
I found my headgasket not to really seal up for the first 100 miles at least, it smoked like crazy but the oil didn't look too bad. I'd just dremel down the reliefs in the pistons since it's probably from the head/block getting decked a few times too many. If you didn't wreck a valve, you have some free compression most likely!
Did you use copper spray and is it a MLS gasket? If you didn't have both surfaces done I'd absolutely use it. Golden Eagle always uses it on their stuff whenever they build engines and that's on high dollar built engines which have perfect surfaces.
It also probably wouldn't hurt to get a new set of headbolts, Rockauto seems to suggest it's like $16-18 for a set if I looked it up for the right toyota pickup. I'm also assuming you oiled the bolts before you stuck them in?
I'm also assuming the water pump bolts through the front cover? When I google 22r water pumps it shows a lot of brand new timing covers, I'm assuming these probably get all dicked up and warp over time. You might be dumping water down the timing cover/water pump as Serj sort of suggested.
