@birdman101 are your shocks leaking?
What shocks? This babys got only the finest springs in metal tubes. That brown schmoo on it is the result of spraying wd40 up the spring tubes to make them stop squeaking, and consequently, rusty wd40 drizzling out. It didnt stop squeaking.
Oh no way, i thought that thing died after someone left or got banned.
This is the latest in a long chain of android client attempts. Every previous one has ended in flames, this is the only one that has not. Still gets regular updates, developer's eye's have so far not changed into pitch black spheres and he has yet to herald the coming of the end days so we're hopeful this will turn out okay.
Aaawww it makes my title small.

Hell yea I appreciate the input guys! The head measured within spec for warpage, calls for .0059" or less and my .005" feeler doesn't fit under the flat edge. the headbolts were new and oiled when installed. My issue with the valves touching the pistons is because the block is a 22R and those had domed pistons but the 20R head is supposed to have flat top pistons, so the valve clearances are just a weeee bit off. I checked mechanical timing several times, that marks and everything were good to go. Just running into Hondaboi nonsense mixing heads and blocks. Still can't believe I couldn't feel them when I was turning it over by hand. Now, this is what I thought of during work today.. I did a ton of cranking trying to chase a little spark nonsense when I had the wrong dizzy rotor in there. I probably dumped a decent amount of gas into the oil. I didn't smell the oil I dumped out. Gonna check the pan tonight.. first to see if it separated overnight and then to see the smell. If it's gas the. I just gotta notch the pistons and put new gaskets on and go from there. Gonna put som spray a gasket on for good measure this time too. Appreciate the inputs guys
Almost two weeks straight of mid teens F and a week of snowpocalypse, then two days of rain and now its 50f. Mmm winter in the PNW
Almost two weeks straight of mid teens F and a week of snowpocalypse, then two days of rain and now its 50f. Mmm winter in the PNW
Pretty much the same here in upstate NY. Welcome to weather basically.
I was trying to do some wiring today while waiting for this starter to arrive (still hasn't). Then it randomly started pouring rain while the sun is still out. I bought this really nice 1-6 circuit fuse block that I'm attaching to the tail end of my voltage regulator, and put it under the hood for ease of access. I am ditching the entire glass fuse panel under the dash in favor of another one of these eventually. One tail for the 4 gauge lights, one tail for the radio, one for the 12v lighter, one for the amp remote lead, and the rest will be up to future expansion. I ordered some nice 50ft lengths of 12g Blue, Green, Yellow, Red, and Purple wire and some 4ga blue for engine grounds. Anywhere wire is visible I like to use the restoration hardware style, which is cloth covered, then vinyl covered to make it look like classic wiring, then you wrap a inch or so of pigtail into it. It's nice stuff, but $100/roll, so I'm using it sparingly. Then I found those 90 degree spade connectors so the wiring will all flow backwards. I haven't yet decided if all 6 wires coming off should be the same color, or individual colors, since they will all be for 12v+switch, but for different circuits, and have seperate amp rating fuses. Here's an example of the restoration stuff. I love the look of it. Then you buy rubber insulators for the end after you rip off the ugly plastic style ones that usually come on terminals. These are the two wires attaching the distributor to the H.E.I. ignition module. And then after is a shot of the entire Mopar/Volvo/GM ignition mounted to the engine. The cloth covered wire is basically a regular vinyl/plastic shielded black wire, with colored cloth wrapped, then clear vinyl compressed over it so it won't unravel. The other issue, is I forgot that when I was measuring for my stubby "S" exhaust that I forgot the car was up on jackstands so it wasn't sitting down in its usual rake... so I thought there was plenty of exhaust clearance to the ground.... turns out no there isn't. SO that needs to be changed before I move the car and crack the turbine housing or something when that hits. That is also the entire exhaust for now. The NARC light is fully articulate and parks against the window as it should when tilted down. Anyone in the Bay Area Ca, wanna come help me pull what seems like hundreds of feet of masking tape off the car? I'll pay. I have family in upstate New York, according to them it's been unseasonably mild. This year was literally top 10 since records began worst here and it's January.

I wouldn't worry. I washed the hell out of my rings since I hydrolocked my engine a couple times with gas then let it sit for a week. Shitty side feed injector seals absolutely disintegrated going back in and the fuel pump just dumped down the intake...

Did old bodystyle mini coopers ever come with turbo's? Theres this abortion I found at the junkyard, idk what was going on with it but the engine had the smallest turbo I've ever seen.
Did old bodystyle mini coopers ever come with turbo's?
As in those that ain't "Honey I shrunk the BMW" and fitted with gaudy 'retro-chic' interior? No they were never turbo'd officially.

Welp, my Grand Am just blew an oil seal or something. 2 days ago I noticed that, somehow, my oil levels were high. I decided that I'd change the oil this weekend. Last night, my oil pressure light came on (when I started my car to leave from work) and it made god-awful clicking the whole way home. Drained the oil to find there was basically none in it now. This morning I checked where the leak could be coming from to see it draining over this cylindrical piece (which I believe is my starter) from somewhere above it. [t]http://i.imgur.com/anAhWr8.jpg[/t] (The piece on the right, I mean, not my oil filter) This wouldn't blow dogs for quarters if it wasn't for the fact that THIS IS MY ONLY TRANSPORTATION FROM WORK AND BACK. So now I'm looking into a new-to-me vehicle on top of finding a fix for this.
Its a turbo suzuki G engine, 1L, makes a whopping 79ft/lbs at 3500 rpm! I dont know what the fuck the person was doing, mechanics are like mad scientists. Turbo is in good condition, no shaft play, $60 fuck yeah. Pics later
