Saving up for a '14-15 Lexus IS350. Choosing Lexus over Mercedes/Audi/BMW because I care more for reliability and comfort than performance.
The IS is only comfortable if you and all of your friends are short asian women. Save up some more coin and move on up to an ES350, it's a much better car. A Mercedes C300 is a more comfortable than the IS (however the interior feels cheap and this is coming from an MB fan), but tbh the real stunner in the segment is the new Audi A4, I've never driven a sub 50k car that felt so special except for a BMW X1.
My issue with the IS, aside from the fact that I have trouble fitting in it, (and I drive lots of cars) is road noise. They just seem to howl along on older pavement so be sure to thoroughly test drive before buying.
It's a lada. I'm assuming the fucking djinn spinning the drivetrain didn't get his rubles this week and fucking quit. :mystery:
So I'm not going to scrap my Grand Am. I'm gonna get myself an engine hoist and rip the engine out. Depending on how fun I found that, I'll either rebuild it or take a 3400 from a donor car and put it in it. In the mean time I'm cruising around in a 2000 Cadillac Deville

I must have some sort of crazy entropic aura that causes everything around me to fall to pieces.
I pulled the Caddy out of the garage to clean it and the window regulator in the driver's side broke, plummeting my window down into the door.
in the middle of winter.

Niiiiice. That is a beautiful combo.
I always loved how that car's spoiler was so tall simply so the trunk could still open...

Shit, I had something similar happen last fall. Had to drive 30 miles up the tollway with the driver-side window pulled loose from its track. Near as we could tell, the adhesive holding it in place had dried up and crumbled.
Needless to say, my heater got a workout.

Looks 10x better to me. Once they are all done, i can go back and do a final polish and fix details.
Also, it is basically a dull mirror finish. The dark spots are reflections of my truck in the background, as well as the rocks.

This happened to me right at the start of this rainy season. Shove some cardboard in between the window and the weather stripping on the inside and it holds in place pretty good.
I went for a more permanent and stylish bodge when it happened in my impala. yanked the door card off and crammed a 2x4 in it to hold the window up. didn't fix it until I was about to sell it. the guy gave me an extra hundred bucks over my asking price to fix the window motor, which was pretty good considering I was willing to part with it for $200 under my asking price

Grinding + polishing the wheels. The front was done in the first picture, the back wasn't. The second picture, both are done.
There is a before/after of the front on the last page
Edit; thread is moving much faster than i thought, it was back on 99.
Here is the before picture on the front;

Did you buy that truck or are the crack heads back to steal more copper pipe and packard parts?
Ouch.
I was only pointing it out in Fordlords photo.

Yeah, neither did I. I was about to either congratulate you on the new truck or ask if you shot the bastards finally.

They both are in jail for a 24 year sentence. Sadly it's not for theft. It's for manufacturing and distribution of meth.
I just ment the suspension parts.
I'm going to paint the car white.... i think...
I'm still in doubt between pure white, or green again...
White
+Looks really clean
+Cheap
+Easier to paint because I can do the entire car at once
Green
+Looks pretty good with black, and carbon.
+I'll have 2 E36 green racecars. Which is kinda cool
-More expensive
-More work to paint because of the 2 tone (white interior)
I still think you should do this.

If you're going to do green and black, do it right (my dads car)
[thumb]http://www.speedzonemagazine.com/zones/doorzone/15/dw/SPZ_3288.jpg[/thumb]
Ditch the white cage, its too flamboyant, throw some light tint on or a black border, black hood, and some sort of clean black side graphic or if you font want a black hood then a single offset black stripe maybe
[editline]23rd January 2017[/editline]
That green you picked is too light imo
[editline]23rd January 2017[/editline]
This is my cousins car, the wrong green can totally ruin the contrast with black

Light green on a vehicle is retarded, it looks like babu vomit.
Dark Green or like, whatver dade car is works on certain bodies. I see lots of good looking A and E body vehicles with that kind of color scheme
But, imo, under no circumstances shouls a bmw anything be mostly any kind of green.

Always wanted a final gen. El Dorado for a grandpa car.
Deville would be neat too, though. We have a guy who brings this immaculate black one in for his oil changes every few months. It's just.... nice.

Its ok, Im only disagreeing because that shade of green is perfect for a beemer. dark green looks good on muscle cars, but beemers can take a lighter shade without going too far.
I could see like a dark green working for a stock one, I think it looks good on most executive/luxury type cars. But on a race car? I'd stick with staple colors to keep it from looking too gaudy. It's already hard enough to go the route of mods and racecar stuff etc. with one and not have it look... blargh.
As far as ostentatious colors on a BMTroubleu goes, I could see orange working pretty well, in my eyes. It's my favorite color though, so I'm biased. :v:
I'm not a fan of green myself, it works on select vehicles but I like forest green or darker personally. Light greens just end up looking sun faded after a certain shade; on top of being the most "LOOK AT ME!!!" color.
I just like subtle colors or color combinations that make you look at the car because its a sweet car, not some gawdy bright object that looks out of place.
@DP <3 cant win 'em all
[editline]23rd January 2017[/editline]
Orange is a tough color to pull off because unless its a muscle car it just looks like a manufacturers attempt to get a few extra sales from kids ala a kia soul
A balanced orange such as this could work:

Where it still standa out, isnt dark enough to look burnt, and shows well with black
