One of my buddies is going through a real rough patch right now, so I convinced him to begin motorcycling. He inherited my XV750, and after only 30 minutes of practice we went on a 40 mile ride; he's a natural. Afterward we had a beer and he said he hadn't felt this good in months. Made me real happy to introduce a friend who was in a bad way to the world of two wheels, and an outlet for what he's been feeling. [t]http://i.imgur.com/GMRb7py.jpg[/t]
I did that to a friend once, introduced him to racing. First he was happy now he says i financially ruined him, and his wife has a permanent hate for me for canceling all their holidays oops

[editline]edit[/editline] Since I haven't posted here in a long while, I thought I'd update you all on the car situation! :D The W123 had to get its mandatory vehicle inspection last week and it didn't really work out like I had expected. The rear subframe had basically rusted away underneath the coat of rust protection which made it impossible to see without getting it on a lift. The inner part of the front fenders were also a bit rusty. Since I can't do rust, I had to get my welder to do it and man, he told me it was quite the job because apparently, it had also rusted away underneath the A pillars by the drains. Damn! It also needed a brand new steering geometry (box, arms and rods), and new discs and calipers, brake lines, rear hydraulic shock absorbers, rear springs and rear A-arms. And a new flywheel, but they didn't fail it because of that. I'm a broken man but it's back!! [t]http://i.imgur.com/MAz96tH.jpg[/t] The W108 is still in the shop (has been since April 2015) because of injection issues. I had the injection redone at Bosch and I've got a brand new MFI pump in it. Just waiting for a little contact switch to arrive before I can finally put it into a very late and short winter hibernation. [t]http://i.imgur.com/X07K6rx.jpg[/t] [editline]edit[/editline] Is there an AA-club on Instagram? Would like to follow some of you guys so I can keep in touch while not being that much on Facepunch.
I'm really digging those style of rims. Is there a name for this style?
Standard rota or volk racing style rim. Google "rota" or "volk rim" and they're the first results. Expensive, lots of copies though.
Here is my, as serj likes to call it, "aircraft hanger" [thumb]http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u423/Lawblind/CE497210-C882-4856-A9ED-26789D0005E6_zpsyz3j28pr.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u423/Lawblind/AF48B529-ACD4-470E-8DA1-3AE9C3DC65F3_zpsy2iixw9x.jpg[/thumb] Its a bombsite. Its 40x60 with a heated floor, shitter, TV, computer, CNC burntable, shear, bender, press, drill press, lathe, mille, tig and mig welders, and probably more that I cant think of. I try to use the most of it as best I can. Getting torn down to turn into a 40x120 with a house attachment this year maybe.
It is an aircraft hangar. Its even shaped like one. I have a driveway to work on stuff Sally. A driveway! Thats a hangar for repairing aircraft and storing dirigibles.
i want an aircraft hanger

Avoid replicas at all cost.

I've seen a lot of te37 replicas break the spokes while going sideways [editline]6th February 2017[/editline] like break all the spokes, as in the hub is no longer attached to the rim
I'm interested in upgrading the alarm in my car, I'd like a 2 way. I have the old Viper 300+ with all the options. The one they recommend for my car is the 3305V. Would any of the wiring be plug and play from my old system, or would i be running entirely new wiring for this?

My insta is https://www.instagram.com/chrisboddum/
Holy shit jackpody, your cars are the most beautiful basket case old MBs I've ever seen. Glad to hear that the 108 is going to be ready to run again soon. I hope that the S123 gets repaired nicely, I hope your welder will treat both sides of the weld or you'll be dealing with this again. Speaking of steering boxes, I think my W126 needs one, but then again ATF is the death of these boxes it seems. When you renew the box, be sure to use Febi hydraulic oil. I'll be taking my W126 out of service this summer for the 200k mile service (timing chain, guides, water pump, t-stat, trans service). I might even pull the heads and timing cover off and renew the head gaskets, lower guides, and oil pump drive.

Or let me know if you need custom stuff done and I'll send it down for cost of materials and shipping.

OH, I meant to post a couple of pictures here a while ago since I'm moving a bunch from my phone to my PC, and I figure having them here is a third way to save them. I don't have a lot of great pictures of the Dart around, but I really like these two. Sentimental shitpost inc. : This one is from the morning after we made it great again, took it for an instafam post: [t]http://i.imgur.com/NTUgM2I.jpg[/t] And this one is one of an album of my old dog, Max I took a while ago ( passed on now, incredible doggo o7 ), outside laying around it. This is my favorite, I think. It's not a great picture of the car, but it's in it, and it's a comfy pic all around, to me. [t]http://i.imgur.com/azsafck.jpg[/t] I honestly do not think I will ever be able to part with this vehicle. From digging it's rusted corpse out of a gully with my father, to actually restoring and painting it, to learning to drive a manual trans.. in it, cruising around in it and shooting the shit with people who stopped me to tell me they love it since they or their dad had one or a duster or a valiant at one time or another, painting it (again.), stressing over getting the stripes right.... just a lot of memories tied up in it. Absolutely love having it around.

Remind me on saturday and I'll look for you when I get home. If I do, its yours for whatever it costs to ship! If not, I highly suggest upgrading to a holley 750 or 850 if your budget allows it

Eh! How about everyone posts one picture of there vehicle, and only their favorite one and give some reasons as to why its your favorite and the kind of history behind it and you! I like what evilweazel posted, be neat too see the other members perspectives

Alright, heres the working space [t]http://i.imgur.com/jDr3G2y.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/CcTpAla.jpg[/t] Aaaand the favorite vehicle [t]http://i.imgur.com/OoODAuz.jpg[/t] The truck is my favorite because even though i love the vic, and its a badass fun workhorse of a car, ive got just as many or more great memories of the truck in the year ive had it than the vic in the 4 years ive had it. Ive pulled a gooseneck trailer with a 72 toranado on it down a hilly minimum maintinence nebraska road at cruising speed, ive taken it to the black hills twice, one dirt biking and once getting engaged, ive taken it hunting, ive had it torn apart for days at a time fixing it, ive gotten laid in it, ive taken it ice fishing, mudding, snowdrift busting, ive pulled people out of the ditch with it, and it just feels so damned good to drive. Even before i owned it, ive had great memories of it being my grandpas truck. Its litterally dripping with character. Or maybe thats diesel fuel.
I know how you feel man, My Firebird was my favorite car to own so far. Only half the shit worked in it I was a bit too tall to fit in it but damn was it a sweet ass car. Unfortunately I hit an unpainted speedbump at 11pm and the suspension broke right through the trunk rust and it started sitting like this. The wiring was starting to fuck up along with some other mechanical issues as well so I sold it and bought an Explorer because I needed the room.
I need all original smog equipment in good working order because commiefornia.
I thought you could upgrade to more modern equipment in California?
