Instantly turned the adhesive into snot

Had to go inside cause it was too cold but I can imagine this will kill the rest of the glue instantly.
I had been using lighter fluid until this point, which worked but was a pain in the balls.
Past week was waiting for paint/filler n other shit that I needed.
Got around to permenantly fixing the damage to the rear and putting the interior into a layer of filler

Hopefully I can actually paint the entire car this weekend.
By the way, after I painted the car white. What do you guys thnk about this livery?

With the racing checkered pattern, yes! I'd have the design go on the back bumper as well. Keep the car clean though, theres too much going on with the rest of it (granted those are sponsers, I'd keep the lower red/blue strip)
Well, a friend of mine's selling a (I believe) '99 Tacoma 4x4 for next to nothing to friends in order to sell an estate. So, I might be getting a decent second beater truck in a while. Gonna get the details on it later this weekend.
go post on /o/ /org/ and become one more of the taco army.

Y'all, never try to pull the engine out of a bmw 4.4 Range Rover. Total nightmare.
Well, we're talking $500 or so where in our area a cheap one would be $3000 because... snow...?
Well shit, it's apparently not the Nürburgring. My boss told me it was, but he was wrong.
I'm going to the Porsche factory in Leipzig with driving on their test track and dirt track.
That's still great. From what I remember reading, it's a lot like a mini Nurburgring, even going as far as having a replica Karussell corner. Looking at a track map, I guess it's really a fantasy track with a bunch of replica iconic corners, such as Laguna Seca's Corkscrew, Suzuka's S's, and Monza's Parabolica.
I think I want to try and actually plan a trip to the Nurburgring next year. I considered this year, but I want more trackday experience first. I'm going to try and do about 3-4 trackdays this year, as well as more autocrossing. I want to try and check out other areas of Germany if I can, but my main focus for sure will be the Ring.
I don't think I want to do touristenfahrten, but rather rent a track-prepped car through one of the many businesses that do that in the area (maybe Ring Garage...Misha has a cool channel) and sign up for a trackday instead. Will cost me a lot more, but I think it will be so much more worth it. The public days at the Ring can really be so unpredictable, I wouldn't want to risk dealing with annoyances like early closings and idiots crashing in to me, nor me crashing in to them!

Jealous. Especially if it's in a drivable condition.

ok yea I cant go that cheap. But $3000 would be fair market value for an S10 in fair condition around me. I'm planning on parting way with mine for anything close to $2500

Im shooting for that price range too to break even.
But the price range is so weird on these trucks, there are 2000+$'s with bad trans's and ruined interiors.
Litterly the onlything wrong with mine when Im done is the dash is cracked and now is the bet time to start listing cars for tax season.
Im so torn.
Installed a fender eliminator on the Ninja yesterday. I think it looks much better, although the license plate light kinda covers my registration sticker which sucks. I'm also buying flush mount signals to match the front and get rid of the ugly stock signals.

Tomorrow is it, pain(t) day.
About 6 years without a wreck and I blew it, snow and ice caused me to lose traction and spin on bald tires on a highway. Was facing traffic, couldn't do much and briefly got hit in the left rear quarterpanel by somebody who couldn't react in time. But I got off lucky.

Despite they didn't hit me all that hard, their Mercedes miraculously caught fire from the right C-pillar a few minutes later. How the fuck does that even happen? Did an airbag decide to ignite rather than deploy?

Shit man, hope you're all okay.
Hopefully insurance covers everything. From the photo's the impact didn't seem all that big. Weird that the merc caught fire.
Which reminds me, everyone should carry a small fire extinguisher. A tiny fire is already hard to put out. I once stopped by a smoking car and saw a tiny ass fire under the hood. Luckily I had a fire extinguisher in my trunk. Nothing is more infuriating then watching shit burn down not being able to help.

I'm really glad you're okay, but bald tires in snow and ice? C'mon man, you put everyone's life at risk like that.
I had a small fire extinguisher that I've been carrying since 2012 but it was empty and I kind of threw it into the snow with a few profanities. Getting the training for roadside assistance like that doesn't help much if the only thing you can do is ask the other driver if they're okay, call 911 and proceed to run like hell.

Haven't been able to afford a set for a while, my credit is looking pretty terrible as well.

It's an incredible relief that you're ok, but travelling on the highway on ice with bald tires is a huge risk for you and everyone on the road with ya.
I know they can be expensive, but even buying a set of used or walmart brand tires at the start of snow season is a huge improvement over bald ones. I've seen a lot of cars come into work smashed up and with bent rims to get tires put on aftervan accident cause of slippage this season. Seems like this year has been horrible for ice in the mornings and evenings.

You can buy extremely cheap china tires on ebay for like $150 a set, then spend $50 at a small shop to have them mounted and balanced. It sucks that tires are so expensive but there are easier ways out, and sometimes you have to sacrifice every comfort you have to afford them.
Not sure where but the cheapest I've ever had a set mounted in New York is $80 before tax, car stuff is expensive here. I've gotten back to picking parts at the U-pull-it but even that's pretty pricey, at least I have a backup car. Has a severe oil leak and a laundry list of other issues but it can grab groceries.

6 years without an accident is really good statistically speaking.

I lost my wreck virginity at 7 years with no crash.
Welcome to the crash club.
My back is apparently not going to be any better than it is, and it's pretty bad.
I wrecked my first car by being blinded by the sun right after I suddenly sneezed.
Turns out the car infront of me emergency braked because of also being blinded and a old couple infront suddenly decided they wanted to drive down one of the very rarely used side roads on a commonly-used commuter road.
But I kept my distance and all, and the driver behind me reported to the police I drove normally and this is a shitty part of the road, so it was chalked up as "shit happens" on the report which led to my insurance going really mild on me.
And then I plowed down a deer in my current car, cost a headlight, a foglight along with a pretty much wrecked fender in terms of "critical" damage, and some few small scratches and dents on hood and front bumper.
I've driven about 250.000 miles by now. Accident free. (Since I drove 200.000 miles in the work truck and 30 and 20ish on 2 cars I owned)
Except for 1 time when I was standing still and someone backed into me....
I've driven ~5 years across three or four different vehicles without any tickets or accidents, so far. Let me find some wood to knock on. :v:
A lot of luck involved, I've had close calls both on someone elses and my part. I'm pretty careful, but sometimes someone inches into a blind spot between head turns, so I've cut some people off pretty close by accident before, it happens. It's why I miss my rav4 sometimes, pretty much had 360 degree vision. Just makes me more careful the next time. As for the rest, there's a lot of people who just should not be on the road.
I just try to not to do anything exceedingly stupid, like changing lanes without a signal, cutting across two lanes of traffic (actually had to stop at an accident caused by this yesterday) running risky yellows, etc.
I'm really glad you're okay, but bald tires in snow and ice? C'mon man, you put everyone's life at risk like that.
I cant say anything, as even with bald tires, that thing probably has (or had) better grip than my vic. I was going around a corner on my way to work todayand i actually got some understeer. Very rare for me.
