You guys ever hear of bluedriver? Whats the difference between that and a 10 dollar elm dongle and dashcommand?
People swear by the cheapo elms and torqe pro.
Shit thats quite the difference! What did they do? Claybar and a light cut and polish?
Cut and polish and then a buff.
Steering box is taking a shit, but DP and I have concluded that I'm going to not replace it until... Well... It breaks fully or becomes stupid dangerous. It's over $100 for a used one. Dumb expensive for a worm screw in hydraulic fluid
So, I was a bit off because I was given the wrong details. It's an '87 Toyota Pickup 2dr Shortbed with 101,300 miles on it. Paying $600 for it. Downside, she thought it was 4x4 when it's 4x2, but I don't care much. I'm looking forward to having a nice little 5 spd standard to play around with while being able to carry some furniture and pull a small trailer with my fourwheeler on it.
If it's remotely as nice as it sounds it's still a $3500 truck. I tried finding something along those lines a while back and nice ones started at 4-5k around here since rust doesn't exist in the PNW.
I test drove a Nissan Leaf today. Pretty amazing car, and a lot bigger than I thought. I think i'll probably get one while I wait for the Model 3 to come out in RHD, and for them to work out the kinks a bit. EVs feel so comfortable to drive.
Have you looked at an electric VW? I drove an E-up! and it was quite nice. The E-golf is quite nice as well.
Have you looked at an electric VW? I drove an E-up! and it was quite nice. The E-golf is quite nice as well.
I haven't looked at the e-Up before but the e-Golf only had a 24 kWh battery pack and cost significantly more than the 30 kWh Leaf. Nissan are doing an event in the UK currently, so they knocked £5700 off the price of the Leaf for me. Ultimately I was just going to wait for the Tesla Model 3 but with the Nissan discount, and all the government grants (and with the way May's going I wouldn't be surprised if she removed those) I'm getting a total of £10,700 knocked off the price of the car + a free 7 kW home charger.
I came into a good money situation and decided to get a New car ended up going for a Chrysler 200. Its now in the shop with less than 1000km on it due to engine problems....FML
Yeah, My boss's '16 RAM has been in the shop way more than my car has. He's had a rear main seal replaced, his rear window replaced, mold removed from the carpeting, the front end rebuilt, the oil sump seal replaced, and it goes in next Wednesday to have the intake manifold checked over since it's leaking oil. His brother's identical truck had his manifold split straight down the seem and puke a full sump of oil all over the engine bay last week.

The newer ones actually do alright as far as i can remember but there are still a load of lemons out there. Chrysler cannot 4cyl. Fiat didn't help much. :v:
I'm really getting to know the Supra these days.
In the midst of my various car issues, my boss has agreed to sell me a motorcycle. He has a Suzuki Savage LS650 with less than 500 miles on it which he's gonna get rid of at a very decent price. Now to mold a viking nasal helmet onto a motorcycle helmet and I'll be good to go.

Well I fucking did it, I painted the racecar. Prepare for a shitload of images. Took me about 5 fucking hours of painting, this is the first time I've done any type of car painting besides the 1 times I used rattlecans. I quite underestimated the work of painting the cage, what a fucking bitch that was. I'm not 100% with the result, I'll for sure have to polish some stuff. But in the end, this only cost me 467 euro's (With enough paint left over for the rest of the parts). Compare that to the lowest offer I had from a local body shop of 2850, I'd say it was well worth the effort. Enough talking, pics : Special thanks to Cluth for helping me figure some stuff out!
New cars are scams.
New cars have warranties, if you're smart.
New cars have warranties, if you're smart.
The question is why would you fall back on the warranty? I want a product for life out the door, not one that's gonna spend 2 months in total at the dealer getting worked on.
The question is why would you fall back on the warranty? I want a product for life out the door, not one that's gonna spend 2 months in total at the dealer getting worked on.
Then don't buy Chrysler and you'll be fine.
Hey Ldesu, you're a Subaru man ain't you? Just noticed this SVX was for sale
I'm still waiting for the diff on my 05 silverado to eject parts so I can do an axle swap from an 06 and have disc brakes
Reminds me that I have to check my diff... Don't think the fluid has ever been checked

Yeah, they've got a Saab 9-3 Viggen for sale for about double what it's worth as well.
The question is why would you fall back on the warranty? I want a product for life out the door, not one that's gonna spend 2 months in total at the dealer getting worked on.
I'd love that. I'd keep a spare 'yota or Miata as a beater, then leave the nice car at the stealer whenever it breaks and not pay a dime. For example, my boss just bought a '15 340i. The cost to work on it would be phenomenal, but everything is covered under warranty, even brake pads and oil changes. When you're buying 10 quarts of oil to dump in a BMW, a warranty starts to look reeeeaaal sweet. I have a buddy that works at Infinity and bought a '13 G37S with 60k miles; since he's a dealer, he got a FIVE year warranty with that, or 120k, whichever comes first. He brings the car to the dealer every day since he works there, and gets free car washes and will never spend a penny. He still has his old Honda for when he's in a pinch though, and to me, that's genius.
Reminds me that I have to check my diff... Don't think the fluid has ever been checked
it's empty I guarantee it

I bought a '17 Impreza sport! I'll have pics when I pick it up Tuesday.
Alright, so my friend got a new daily truck and I had a question for all of you. It's a '99 Dakota R/T with a 5-speed swap and a 360. It's really clean, has a bitchen front face. The thing is, since we are in Missouri we have to have a license plate on the front. How do we go about doing that without drilling holes into it? There's not really a place zip tie it either. I know that's legal here, but not everywhere. Also in Texas I think you can get away without a front plate if there's nowhere to mount it on the car, don't know if that's the case in Misery.
