I just bought a 1937, airship. hope I don't hit a control tower, wish me luck
I would try to mount it off to the side like how euro's tend to usign a tow hook hole.
Like if the plate will fit in between the fog and headlamp would be a good area, make a custom bracket for it and drill the holes in the flatest area for the most ease of repair if you ever want to fill the holes.
Other than that find out if you can mount the license plate in the windshield bellow the tint line.
Can you put it in the windshield? I know that's legal here, but not everywhere.
Also in Texas I think you can get away without a front plate if there's nowhere to mount it on the car, don't know if that's the case in Misery.
You can view my record and see that that is not the case.
I think I racked up 3 failure to display plate tickets on my Audi before I just fucking left it on the front.

Cops in your area must be assholes b/c my dad ran his BMW with no front plate for the entire time he had the car. Living and working all around DFW he never had a problem with cops because there was nowhere to mount a plate.
I got a buddy who uses some big ass neodymium magnets to secure his front plate.

Holy fucking shit. That's perfect!
Had some down time at work so I was stacking pallets with my forklift, cleaning up the pallet area, etc. Went to side shift my forks and blew a hydraulic line with my forks raised up at face level.
Good thing I had my glasses on today.
My current job has an electric standing forklift that sticks like 3 separate functions on the same knob and it likes to get stuck, causing unintended acceleration. Fun
I'd like to learn how to get faster at forklifts, Im fairly good on a sky track but a fully expensive forklift with boom out and side to side would be reallly nice. Jelly of the newer electric ones.
On the topic of speed I'm the only one who makes any attempt to multitask on the thing, because you can angle the forks with one lever, move in reverse with the knob, and lower forks on the same knob, which is better done by feel than being told how :v: It's a PITA but if you're unloading a trailer during a literal blizzard and everybody wants the door shut it certainly helps save time.

Pacer? That's what I use. :v:
Alright, so my friend got a new daily truck and I had a question for all of you. It's a '99 Dakota R/T with a 5-speed swap and a 360. It's really clean, has a bitchen front face. The thing is, since we are in Missouri we have to have a license plate on the front. How do we go about doing that without drilling holes into it? There's not really a place zip tie it either.
Here's the owner before the guy we bought it from:

Used to be a built 390 stroker with nitrous.
Simple, don't run a plate. I live in Cali, we have the same law and I haven't ran front plate for 7 years. I've never been cited for it, even when getting pulled over for something else.
My Civic probably blew up today, timing belt came apart and exploded out the bottom of the timing cover.
Block is probably okay, valves are probably bent. Fucking shame, head is super minty and the cam lobes look like brand new.
Don't buy cheaper timing belts, ever.
When you get it back it, you'll only have it for 2 weeks before the transmission fails.
Friend had a brand new Dart that was shearing off parts of its own transmission gears. It took the dealership a week to figure out what was going on.

Or don't run an interference motor. I know it's not always an option, but still. :pudge:
Well, I won a bit of confidence in the vic that I didnt have before, its a good amount faster off a stoplight than my friend's two year old civic, which I always considered pretty speedy, but maybe it just seemed that way. Ive never been able to say that Ive had the fastest car out of all my friends, even if the words are pretty hollow seeing as apart from the civic, my friends drive a new grand cherokee trailhawk, a bullnose F250, an 80s riviera with a swiss cheese frame, and various other reservation runners.
so i bought an E36 (95 325i) a few months ago so i could pull the M50 and swap into my 90 325i E30
i paid 300 for it, parted it out, scrapped the shell
i just learned today Garagistic is buying E36 subframes for up to $150 store credit

Do plates not get stolen in the US?
I have to make sure my plates are secure, quite a few plates get stolen around here

Or run a engine with a timing chain. Or timing gears if you're crazy rich.
I want a Golf Mk2.
VW should've made more of them.
Just be prepared to put a lot of work into one. I really want to get a Golf Mk2 myself but the problem is that the majority of them have been ruined to hell and back, especially the engine block for example since idiots seem to enjoy it so much to rev the engine for no reason.
Sadly I gave up on that dream too after a good friend of my dad who's a mechanic told me that so many of these cars get absolutely ruined. Surely I could try to fix a car up myself but the problem is that I have nowhere to store a car to work on it comfortably. A good alternative that I got recommended instead was a Peugeot 107 for its reliability, though I think it looks like shit to be honest :v:

Pretty sure it's the all-time best selling Golf.
Many were just scrapped.

Just as reliable as it is boring.
It's also pretty much a badge engineered first gen Toyota Aygo, just look at the Japanese text near the radiator.

Some yes, I have the perfect fast theif deterrent. Big flathead bolts.
You're more likely to get your plates nicked if you drive a 90-05 honda or toyota beigemobile than a 79 chevy big block somethingorother out here

Kadett C City. Lovely car and practical too. It gets a lot of looks too. You can also get a coupe, but the City is so much more practical.
The car is very reliable. You practically only have to look out for rust. It's also surprisingly cheap, thanks to the Dutch oldtimerregeling. If you don't drive it during the winter, the taxes are only a quarter of the normal taxes. If the car is 40 years old, you don't have to pay any taxes at all.
[editline]13th February 2017[/editline]
It also handles better than most other cars.

I've just let my tag bolts rust in place
We're going to just put it in the windshield. We'll attached some magnets to the backside of the bumper, just incase. So if he does get pulled over, it's just a quick fix it, which is walk around to the front and snap it on.
