All the sanding culminates in 15 minutes of paint spraying, lol. Going to start sanding more tomorrow to see where we're at and when we can do the fun stuff, like real painting.
Rate me late cause I deserve it but since I keep accidentally taking hiatus' from FP, what are you working on anyways?
When ever I have somthing break I think "well atleast I know how to fix it and not send it to a mecanic." My friend is gonna get assraped for 1,200$ just for 4 balljoints and other A/C shit. Im gonna be ther for when he pays to make sure he does not get shafted too bad I mean that price aint too bad if you put all new fucking everything under the truk.
Well yeah, hopefully the fitting on the passenger head isnt fucked up. If thats fine, its just a 4 foot chunk of heater hose and two hoseclamps to replace, easy peasy. What pisses me off is that i just got the coolant dca mix perfect last flippin month. Now i dont know how much coolant came out, and im gonna have to guesstimate how much dca to put in and use another test strip. Idk i guess thats not really a problem, im just annoyed that the heater hose lasted through two roadtrips across the state in the last 2 months, only to explode on the day that 3-5 other things break on me.
He bought two old rwd Celicas
Dang! I've been considering buying a directly imported car from Japanese Classics over in Richmond. It's only about $500 more than what they're asking to have it delivered to my door so it is very tempting.
JDM is the way to go if you've got extra scratch. I wish my steering wheel was on the right side, lol. Check out this ad.. looks like a freaking steal. Are you trying to make the license plate resemble the shape and placement of a Hitler 'stache on purpose? :v:
Anyone got an idea what could cause headlights to die? First my right headlight died so I replaced it, now today I wanted to go for a drive that now both left and right died. Left is completely dead and right only has dim working. The pair of high beams work fine still I have my car for over a year now and never had real electrical problems with it. Scrap that, its just the left now. Right seems to work fine now, left might have died of old age too

So autocrossing up at Canaan, NH was a fucking blast! It had a bit of everything, excitement, drama, spins off track (including me) and a very smokey 700hp Cadillac. I got worried from my excursion in the grass/gravel since the dirt dug in to the bead of my tires and had me thinking I had a puncture. Was all alright though. Let me shift gears though in sharing some shitty news. I doubt too many of you remember I shared a FB posting about some local NH guy getting his R32 Skyline stolen. This was about 6 months ago back in March. Well, now we've finally got an update, and it couldn't be much worse:
My name's Mason... I'm the owner of that Skyline with a big wing that took up a majority of your news-feed 6 months ago. As most of you know, March 17th, my imported 1989 Nissan Skyline GTS-t was taken from my home. The automotive community came together to setup a wonderful network of information regarding the location of my car. Six months later, Sep 21st, I get contacted by Manchester P.D., telling me they found my car... Yes... technically the car was found; some of it anyway. The car had been located by someone who called Methuen P.D. , who called to have it removed from the woods. All that was left was a broken, cut up, smashed and ripped apart shell of what used to be my car. The only salvageable parts are the steering wheel, the dash, and rear end. The engine, transmission, front clip and interior were cut out. Probably the worst part of this entire story, is that I took the car out of winter storage a few days prior to it getting stolen, and never got a chance to put insurance on it... ya know... just in case something unthinkable happens. Here's the kicker... in order to pick up my car, I have to pay the tow truck fee and to have it delivered to me. If I refuse either, the car will be considered "abandoned", where I will be fined. Let me put this into perspective... My car was stolen. My car was found destroyed. Now either way, I have fees to pay. I am paying to have my car stolen... Literally paying for it. I'm not one to ask for help. I believe you should work for what you want to have (yeah part of me is talking to you, person who stole and destroyed my car)... But right now, I need help. Seeing my dream car destroyed like it is eats me up from the inside. I'd like to use as many parts off of it as i can for my, impulse buy right after the Skyline being stolen, 450Z (a 350Z that i'm fitting with a 4.5L V8 whenever i can find the time) Genuinly I don't know how to ask for money... People are saying i should ask for enough to buy a new Skyline to start from scratch. Others say use the money to actually start on your Z. But honestly anything is helping alot. Thank you.
He started a gofundme. I'd really fucking hate to be in his same situation.

Super shitty situation but I can guarantee that someone knew that he had that car. There's no way some random chop shop managed to steal it. But it goes to show that even in two of the safest states that shit like that can even happen. It really sucks, and I plan on chipping in a bit to his gofundme.

It had a grey wrap is what remember him stating when I first read of it being stolen. Why they took off the wrap...who knows.

Dude what the fuck. That Skyline post makes me sick. And on that gofundme page there's some fuckface who's saying "Sucks to be you, you should've had insurance." That's just messed up. And now he needs to pay money to get it back, or pay money to get rid of it. All the while the cops couldn't do a damn thing to get the car back before it got ruined. Another R32 destroyed by some dumbass thieves. Ughhhhhh the whole situation is awful. Here's my news, I took a little break tonight. But not really. My neighbor wanted to work on his '78 Hilux, do a little investigating to see why his clutch didn't disengage the engine from the trans. We started doing a little adjusting on the clutch, and that got us nowhere. I could look in through the clutch fork hole and see the fingers on the pressure plate moving, so that left us with "man there really is something screwed up in there." And obviously when it's 10 at night the only answer is to start pulling the trans. Like 45 minutes later we have a prognosis. Here's how it looked once we got the pressure plate off. I wish I could've shot a video of it going down. As we turned the engine over to get all the pressure plate bolts it sounded like rocks rattling in that area back there. And as we got down to like 2 bolts holding the pressure plate on I got a glimpse and saw the trouble... Of course, now we've had a flywheel grinding its way into the back of the crank. So that took quite a bit of trouble to pry off over its little ridge it made. And of course since it had all those bolts rattling around when it ran it destroyed the clutch disc and pressure plate, too. :( And after that it was back to sanding on the engine bay of the Celica. Right now the Hilux needs the engine pulled and crank removed and replaced. From what it sounds like he may just do a full rebuild on it for fun. That's an issue for another day, though.

That's why you always have insurance on it. When I put my bike into storage I took the on-road insurance off and kept fire, theft, etc. Took it from $25/month to something like $2-3/month
He was in the process of putting it back on is the big kicker. They should take this as a life lesson hard learned.
'Tis true. Still it's not so much a good situation to poke the beast and remind him "dumbass, you should've had it insured." I would assume he realizes that by now. It's strange because most insurance companies will TELL you not to completely pull the insurance off of it during the winter. On my NSX it needs to stay the same coverage since it's a "stated value" plan, but with my Buick in the winter I get to do just like Gulen said where it's covered for things like the building exploding. I would think if you called up to "cancel coverage" for the winter entirely they'd do their salesman dealio to try to make sure that didn't happen.
hindsight is 20/20 yall
hindsight is 20/20 yall
This hindsight should have been foresight. Anyone with rational thinking would not have removed something so valuable to them from their insurance. Don't stop your home insurance on your cabin just because you're not there for 4 months and expect me to feel remorse for idiocracy when something bad happens and you are left with your soft dick in hand.
