Had a 7 year old at a wedding I was shooting tell me, "I like your MR2"
*sniff* they start so young!
I was thinking since my truck has stopped smoking for a little while that I'd clean it up and sell it since even with 300k on the clock they're still selling for like 4 grand and thinking oh I'll sell it and buy a colorado with the money but lol no used colorados for whatever reason cost more than silverados do
You guys think this would be a good replacement for my Charger?

They fucked up everything in the "Notes" section though, so if you're basing your choice off of anything in there, make sure you do your research.

magnums are rad, probably the last cool thing to come from the big 3
Hey, it's those wheels. They look awesome on that truck. And with those Cooper Cobras, oh-so-right. My grandma's muscle truck runs Coopers. :v:

Only reason I did not buy one was in have a large issue with dodge and their parent company's they "combine" vehicle platforms with.
Could be a good thing could be a bad thing...
But sometimes you don't want that other brands price of repair coming into the situation.

Yeah, actually. The magnum RTs are cool as shit. It was what I was going to nab if I didn't want a 4x4. I love my Xterra, but I almost regret not nabbing one. No decent RT cars around when I needed a new car though, just the SXTs or whatever that the hood rats beat around in.
A guy around here has an '08 SRT8 magnum if I remember right, breddy rare all things considered. I see it every now and again, makes me want one.
The 5.7 motors are pretty reliable, but I wouldn't be surprised if a few issues have cropped up at 150k. 6k seems like a good deal, regardless. Probably nothing you're going to be surprised by considering you're coming from a charger to it, but still a very neat vehicle if you're looking for something similar.

We've had several LX platform vehicles. Despite the Mercedes derived parts in it, I don't think we've ever had any huge costs pop up for the few things we didn't do ourselves.
Yeah, the Mercedes parts bin didn't put any ding in my wallet when it came to fixing my Charger.
The only thing I don't like about that Magnum is the milage. The Charger had 80K when I bought it. I'm not sure how well they preform after 130K. If this was an AWD model, I'd buy it regardless.
Found an ad on Craiglist, 500 bucks for two Mercedes 190e cars, one a parts car and the other in fair shape with a sticker that had just run out. Two people are going tomorrow to look at em so I'm at the back of the guys line. Fuck me I wish I found it a day or two earlier...
Maybe it's because I'm not all that in to Eurotra- stuff, but a $500 Mercedes anything sounds like the literal automotive pandora's box

My $450 (He wanted 550 originally) dollar ML320 find was and has been pretty excellent so far after a (sweat, blood and tears filled) drivers side catalytic converter replacement job and the replacement of the wiper motor. I was just itching to go look at these cars, often these craigslist people aren't too mechanically inclined and thus just give up on their cars.

My friend picked up a ML320 with 280k miles on it for pretty much no money and he loves as he decides what he really wants.
I've not heard good things about the Magnum.
Sorry Del91 :( I disremembered my life.
Tonight I used the 25% off coupon for Harbor Freight (twice, actually, lol) and got an engine crane, load leveling chain thingy, and a couple sets of sockets to replace my lost ones for under $200. I'm pretty happy there.

Then we had some dinner and decided to start pulling the engine or something

Pulled the entire thing with 2 LED lights in dark.
There was a casualty, though. I was using my phone for a flashlight and dropped it into a pan of transmission fluid we had under the car. :/ Seems to be mostly OK, but the speaker for the speakerphone and normal phone talking both seem.. quieter. Sigh, maybe I'll try to take it apart sometime and clean it.
Made it about 100 miles on the replacement radiator, that one sprung a leak in the same spot. First one from Autozone lasted ~8k miles.
swan neck spoilers weirded me out
i understand it's about safety concerns, but it looks strange

Haha. Wow. I read the reviews on the dealer. Wow.

Dear fucking lord why is basic car maintenance/troubleshooting not a requirement in high school to get a drivers license? this chick I went to high school with posted a video on facebook asking "why is my rear driver side tire smoking?" well honey perhaps it's because you only have THE BACK SIDE OF THE ROTOR LEFT and your brake pad gave up the fucking ghost 1000 miles ago? I could literally see the scrape marks on the caliper from where it was grinding against the vanes on the rotor.
Living in an apartment is frustrating. I want a project, but don't have anywhere to wrench...

I learned long ago the signs of a locked caliper. The smell of burning wires at a stop, the light smoke coming from one tire, but most importantly, the heat anywheres near the hub/brakes. I spend one day driving an hour back from the city stopping at every gas station to drench the brakes in water to cool down the rotors so they didn't overheat and warp. Ended up needing new calipers and pads, but at least I saved the rotors.

it always amazes me when people can't even change a tire much less figure out how to read an oil dipstick. and I know the frustrations of apartment life for projects when I lived in an apartment I got lucky and had a cool landlord that let me park the mustang I had in his pole barn
I'm not going to lie, I'm going to have to google how to find all of the stuff to change a flat and find out how to drop the spare when I get my first one in this new truck. I think I have to use my actual vehicle key to drop the spare or something. But after I do it the first time in this new truck, I'll be good.

When our F-150 ran over a screw the AAA guy had a hell of a time figuring the tire out. Firstly, there's a keyhole in the rear bumper to unlock the spare. I think you have to use the handle for the Jack as a lever to extract the spacefaring there? I don't know, I wasn't there. Beyond that, it's a mystery.
As a rule of thumb i just dont trust anyone to touch my car unless its me, my dad (a lifelong mechanic), or the tire shop that does my alignments.
usually when the tire is under there's somewhere to put the jack handle to turn to lower the spare to the ground. At least that's how it's worked on everything i've seen that system on
Every truck I've seen has had a tiny hole to the left or right of the license plate that you stick the back of the jack handle in to let the spare down.

Sorta same principle with some SUV's too.
Can someone here suggest what points would be good for placing a jack on a 2000 Ford Taurus? I have some work I want to do but I've never had to bring it off the ground before (i've got a floor jack to use now). I have a shitty pic but this is the best I can get of the front. I was thinking of using the subframe but i've heard so many people say when they tried it bent it.
