Am I the only one here that doesn't want my car louder? I honestly prefer the very little sound that it makes with the stock exhaust over the loud aftermarket ones. Granted, I have an old V6 in my jeep, and IMO there's just no way to make them sound "good", so maybe I just prefer not hearing anything because of that. With the top and doors off at night cruising down a road, its nice to just hear the wind. Very relaxing.
My hollow catalytic converter makes about the best exhaust upgrade possible for a shit s10. Literally all bark no bite

She loses her bite at anything past 5,600rpm but still sounds amazing and not entirely that loud. [editline]6th October 2016[/editline] I can't modify posts anymore the save changes button just fucking stops working. Factory "converter" that's still intact to a 6" resonator to a 90* ***********
Ah yess it's looking good! Also pulled the 8-track player out of the black dash and swapped in the pocket from the tan dash
I hope you put eurobeat on an 8-track... and then post a video of it :freakout:
My hollow catalytic converter makes about the best exhaust upgrade possible for a shit s10. First car am thinking manual Seat Ibiza or Ford Fiesta 2012+, ones I'm seeing on auto trader are about £5kandabove. Leaning towards seat Ibiza for sure
Yay, failed inspection. 3 faults and 2 are easy as long as I can find a place to weld. 3rd fault though, steering goes in like steps. It got better when I bled it but it's terrible again. Did some googling and it sounds like busted bearing on the front spring(s)
tfw two blue's randomly come in. [t]http://i.imgur.com/khYTpMK.jpg[/t]
This Texas FP meetup is getting weird. Wanna buy me a plane ticket
Man, I wanna do an FP meetup now and shoot the shit while wrenching. Anyone wanna come to my filthy creeper RV? I've got hot dogs.
Man, I wanna do an FP meetup now and shoot the shit while wrenching. Anyone wanna come to my filthy creeper RV? I've got hot dogs.
I've got a smaller less filthy equally creepy truck camper, and plenty of beer. Host the meetup in one of sd's neighboring states and there's a good chance I'll be there. [editline]6th October 2016[/editline] We've got a few fp minnesotans, that could work. [editline]6th October 2016[/editline] I can [del]abduct[/del] invite demache and wastedjamaican and bring them along
something like oklahoma would probably be the best place to do it or you could all just come down to biloxi for cruising the coast

[editline]6th October 2016[/editline] WAIT NO I have a better idea, theirs a YouTuber in Tulsa that will host us. We just have to work on his boat. "SV Seeker"

Living with a french car is fun. You talk with someone about a problem you have and they just look at you like you'd just talked seriously about headlight fluid. There's just so much madness with the engineering in these things it hurts my brain (and wallet, and soul)

I love the internet. I was talking about how I don't want to change the bearing on top of the springs if that's NOT the problem in a chat and this guy just said "just knock off the track rods and try then" why didn't I think of that
Only got a 1.0L engine though, do you know what its mpg is like?
It's got a turbo to compensate, and it's actually incredibly responsive for a turbo'd car. On the other hand it's gotten that funny "half a V6" engine sound, though the turbo downplays it kinda. And I'm not that much of a fan of the interior design, but I've been spoiled by the simple, orderly and logical design some German and Japanese car makers used to do. No idea about mileage, but as long as you're not hooning then a friend of mine says it's respectable compared to how fun it can be to drive (he owns one). But be warned, the 3door model doors are like hinged barndoors, so you better be skinny, or live in a place where every parking spot is designed for dually trucks & SUV's if you've got a hard-on for the 3doors, oh and also secretly hate everyone who's gonna sit in the back.
1 liter turbos, for when you want to change engine every 100 thousand kilometers.
Only got a 1.0L engine though, do you know what its mpg is like?
45-low 50s mpg
Yo, so the city swung by and just gave me a "ORDINANCE VIOLATION NOTICE" About my 2 300zx''s I have in my drivewau, one is a roller and the second one is having title issues (Guy that I got it from has title, but he's never signed it over in his name. It's been like a year) and gave me 3 weeks on to either get rid of them or get plates on them. What should I do? First off I'm about to pay off my house in like under a year. Since it's technically my land. Why do they have the right or care about cars that don't move much? And it's not like they are rusted down pieces of shit. The roller is mint
1 liter turbos, for when you want to change engine every 100 thousand kilometers.
That's bullshit, unless the driver is a idiot that ignores the sudden powerloss because the turbine shaft in the turbo snapped and the oil is now pissing into the intercooler, and then the engine seizes because lol-no-oil. And even that's some worst-case freak scenario. If a turbo starts to howl, then the bearings are bad and it needs replacement, and that's the usual turbo fault. Also don't buy cheap eBay turbo's and expect them to last long. Although if you're driving a turbodiesel and also do lotta citydriving, then stay away from a turbodiesel with variable turbine geometry (aka: vanes instead of wastegate), because then you'll foul up the turbo with soot and cause the vanes to 'hang'.
There's 2 guys who did a trip across europe in a datsun 100 ampere and they are now selling it. I wish there was a translation about the problems they had because I've accidentally laughed at too many customers face when I've been reading this shit when bored. From austria to finland with back end held together with zip ties? no problem apparently
zip ties
All you need in life is duct tape, WD40, zip ties, and super glue.
All you need in life is duct tape, WD40, zip ties, and super glue.
actually they also used a garden hose with the zip ties to keep the rear axle in check when coming back from the swiss alps :speechless:
actually they also used a garden hose with the zip ties to keep the rear axle in check when coming back from the swiss alps :speechless:
A friend's friend did something similar, except with spare hoseclamps and fence wire stolen from a field.
